Youthful Saints Beat West Ham

A young Southampton side beat West Ham today 2-1. Rickie Lambert got the opener when he slid in following a fantastic cross from Michail Antonio who has just returned from a loan spell at Swindon. Mark Noble equalised in the second half thanks to a brilliant free kick which beat Kelvin Davis at his far post. But young right back Jason Lowe scored the winner with a cracking 35 yard effort which easily beat reserve goalkeeper Ruud Boffin. Unfortunately for Southampton, young left back Luke Shaw was forced off due to injury but Southampton are now level on points with Readings record 106 points and look to get the record in the last game of the season in the South Coast Derby against Portsmouth.

Final Score: West Ham 1-2 Southampton

Southampton Beat Portsmouth In South Coast Derby

Southampton secured a record number of points and beat local rivals Portsmouth 2-0 on the final day of the season. Both of Southampton's goals were fairly late in the second half with Craig Dawson getting a goal thanks to another corner by Adam Lallana, who has undoubtedly been one of the leagues best players this season. The other possible "Player of the Year" candidate, Rickie Lambert, got his usual goal to secure a Southampton win and make the final score 2-0 to Southampton.

Rickie Lambert (Southampton)
Adam Lallana (Southampton)

Final Score: Southampton 2-0 Portsmouth

Walker Appointed Team GB Manager

Southampton manager Adam Walker has been employed as the Great Britain U23 manager for the Olympics. The young manager will divide his time between Southampton and Team GB. Great Britain U23's are not set to last after the Olympics finishes but Walker would relish the opportunity to stay in the job for longer.

Board Set Initial Budgets

So the Southampton board have set me the initial budget of £475k p/w wages and £8.85M to spend. I would have preferred a bit more in my opinion but I can always get more from selling players.

If you go to the boardroom you can edit your budgets but the more you increase the transfer budget, the wage budget would decrease so yeah I'd sell the players who you know for sure are not premiership quality

Southampton Announce New Signing

Southampton have confirmed the signing of 30 year old Blackburn midfielder Morten Gamst Pedersen for £3.3M. Adam Walker says "He is experienced and knows the Premier League well. He has done a fantastic job for Blackburn and I want him to do even better for us."
