Swansea Lucky To Draw

Southampton were unlucky not to beat Swansea in today's F.A Cup encounter after the game finished 1-1. Rickie Lambert put the away side ahead from the penalty spot after Ashley Williams committed a foul but former Watford striker Danny Graham equalised for the struggling Premier League side. Unfortunately star player Scott Sinclair had to be substituted for Swansea due to injury and both Frazer Richardson and Birger Maertens faced the same fate for Southampton.

Barnsley defender Stephen Foster was then sent off for a foul on Adam Lallana who had to be substituted due to injury. Southampton Go Top After Beating Burnley

Southampton narrowly beat Burnley at St Mary's to put Southampton top of the league for the first time this season. Rickie Lambert put Southampton ahead with a good effort to beat Burnley goalkeeper Lee Grant and young Jordan Rhodes put the Saints ahead with a inch perfect finish thanks to a great ball by Iago Falque. Rhodes then doubled his tally for the game with a similar goal to his first but this time thanks to a delightful pass from Davide Petrucci. Burnley striker Martin Paterson pulled one back for Burnley and CB Andre Amougou scored a beautiful goal after a fine run. This did nothing for Burnley now who are currently 11th while Southampton are top, three points clear of Reading.

Southampton Finally Beaten

Leeds beat Southampton 3-1 but the scoreline was overshadowed by a stunning performance by Southampton youngster Lilian Bochet. Michael Brown scored the first goal of the game for Leeds but Bochet scored a beautiful effort which came out of nowhere considering Southampton's performance. Davide Somma then put Leeds in front for the second time today with a decent effort and Argentinian Luciano Becchio sealed a win for the Whites.
