The First Trial

I had just witnessed the team warm-up and they looked quite fit. Although, there was one injury as Ebrima Sohna pulled his hamstring and looked to be out injured for 4-5 weeks.

I had another meeting with my Harri Ylonen and we discussed tactics. We decided on getting the team to work on two tactics (download links included):

4-2-3-1

4-5-1

My next task was to manage my team against our "B" team, SiPS. Here was the result which we claimed:

A thumping 6-1 victory with captain Ilja Venalainen firing on all cylinders. I just knew he would be a great player for us. I also had a "little" look at the European club co-efficient rankings and was pleased to find our club in a much higher spot than I expected.

In the next update I will talk about the Finnish domestic schedule, transfers and more! Stay tuned.
Ah yes, two spots above Irish legends Glentoran :P

It won't be long before we are ahead of English "leg-ends" Man City either ;)
That's what you think :P
I had just witnessed the team warm-up and the liked quite fit.

Thanks for pointing out my grammar error :P

Finnish Domestic Schedule + Fixtures + Transfers

Hey guys, in this post I will talk about the Finnish Domestic Schedule, my League Cup fixtures and my transfers to date. First of all I will discuss the Finnish Domestic Schedule, which is very unsusual.

The League Cup

The Finnish domestic season starts in January with the League Cup. This runs from January to March. The teams involved in the League Cup are the twelve teams from the Veikkausliiga, Finland's premier league. These twelve teams are split in to three groups where each team plays the others in their group twice, both home and away. The top two from each group qualify to the round, aswell as the two best third-placed teams of the three, depending on points count. These eight teams are drawin in the quarter-finals, a one-legged affair. The semi-finals is a plain one-match tie with the winner progressing to the final. The final is also one-legged but holds no qualification for European competitions.

Veikkausliiga

The Veikkausliiga, also known as the Premier League, runs from April and comes to a close in October. The twelve teams play each other three times. First place qualifies for the Champions League. Second and third places qualify for the Europa League. Fourth place also qualifies for the Europa League, depending in the winner of the Finnish Cup.

The Finnish Cup

The Finnish Cup kicks off all the way back in December where teams from the lowest leagues in Finland compete. Veikkausliiga teams enter around March-April in the Sixth Round. The final is contested in September, the winner qualifying for the Europa League. Each tie is one-legged.

Stay tuned for my next update as Johnson's competitive debut is against KuPS' fiercest rivals, Jyvaskyllan Jalkapallo Klubi.
Fiew, you didn't get HJK which are one of the leading teams in Finland! I bet that KuPS will be THE leading team in the next years!
