Saturday 25th April 2015 – West Bromwich Albion v Manchester City (Premier League)

MCFC Starting XI – Hart, Zabaleta, Varane, Lescott, Toase; Nasri, Barry, Sneijder, Bale; Aguero; Suarez SUBS – Forster, Ramon, Kompany, Milner, Nem, Silva, Cavani

WBA Starting XI – Foster, Rangel, Olsson, Almeback, Ridgewell; Yacob, Denilson, Mulumbu; Brunt, Kadril; Jong Tae-se SUBS – Amos, Donk, Jakobsen, Morrison, Di Santo, Cummings, Stepanenko

A completely lifeless game for 80 minutes burst into life with 10 minutes to go when City substitute David Silva gave City the lead. City seemed to be cruising but with 4 minutes to go Zabaleta gave away a penalty that Brunt scored to make it 1-1 and it looked as if it would finish with the teams sharing the points until a Brunt free kick was met by Di Santo who gave West Brom all three points. The defeat makes City task of finishing 2nd looking very difficult and in fact they will be looking over their shoulder at the teams below them

Final Score – West Bromwich Albion 2 (Brunt 86(p), Di Santo 90+3) Manchester City 1 (Silva 81)

MOTM – Jonas Olsson

Attendance – 31,362

Fergie’s Farewell Present

Manchester United sealed their 21st English League title today and in perfect fashion with a 7-1 home win against Wolves, and it seems like the perfect send off for their retiring manager Alex Ferguson.

http://i1269.photobucket.com/albums/jj595/MCFCDAP/UnitedTitle_zpsc04dbdfb.png

United have done exactly what rivals Manchester City did last year and dominated the Premier League all year and no-one ever looked like catching them. They have also been aided by the free scoring Wayne Rooney who has bagged, a personal best, 32 goals this season, with three games still to go.

The soon to retire manager, Alex Ferguson, said after the game, “What a way to go out, not only have we dominated the league all season but we have won it in a magical way by scoring 7 today. Of course this is the perfect way for me to retire, a Champion.” Many feel United will struggle to replicate any of this form when Ferguson leaves and no-one is quite sure who will take over from the legendary manager, but one thing is for sure, he has some way to go to match Ferguson’s record.
A deserved send off for Ferguson, but I'm sure you'll be able to utterly dismantle United without him next year :D

Premier League will be ours again next season!
I was just looking at a video on City's website (that you've probably seen) and their was a goal of Kinkladze. I instantly thought of your story and just wanted to point that to you :P
Now that I've continued watching the video I noticed that their is two goals from him :O
Three in fact! He was really a great player :D

The reason I picked Kinkladze was because when I was growing up through the 90's I went every week and saw everything he did, he is my hero and always will be! In my opening post i refer to grim times in the 90s and they really were but he made the game look so easy when surrounded by average players....if he joined City now with the players we have, he'd be better than most!

The greatest goal I have ever seen live at a football match is this one

[centre]
He'd certainly be better than bloody Kolarov!

Before you did this story I knew he played for City but I didn't really know who he was. Now I discovered a great player, it's a shame I wasn't born when he was at the club.

In FourFourTwo's Goals special edition, that was voted City's best ever goal. Someone in Twitter disagreed. "Kinky vs Soton the best City goal ever? Not for me. I'd been for a pee and missed it. Jim Melrose vs Shrewsbury anyone?"

Hahahahaha!! Thats brilliant!! I was there, 9 years old and stood on a chair in the North Stand, one of the greatest things i'd ever seen! As i said, the man is my hero, everything i owned that was City related at that age had something to do with Kinkladze on it!
