Le Fondre Gets The Gunners Firing In First Game

Arsenal 3 - 1 Chelsea

On a night where Arsenal needed to win to come 3-points clear at the top of the league, Newly appointed manager Adam Le Fondre got the Gunners firing, Goals from Giroud, Ayew and Walcott secured victory in Le Fondre's first game since arriving only last week and more importantly to fans securing the win over Rivals Chelsea. After the game Le Fondre had declared it was a proud day for Arsenal fans to show such a masterclass over a club like Chelsea and that enjoying a near 80% possession is an outstanding achievement. Despite the Gunners scoring 3 goals, it took them until the 44th minute to score the opener and it could have easily have been 2 - 0 already with them hitting the post with shots that had beaten Petr Cech.

Giroud Lights Up North-London Derby

Arsenal 4 - 2 Tottenham

Oliver Giroud had a stormer and grabbed himself a hat-trick for Arsenal today and has been a revelation and scored 5 goals in the past 3 games since Le Fondre joined the club, half of his seasons tally in all competitions before the arrival of the new manager. Sky Sports caught up with Giroud after the game.

Oliver, you scored a hat-trick and grabbed yourself the match ball and a man of the match award, How did you feel having such a great game today?

"Well, Uhm, I think I played very well, and uhm, Since Adam has joined the club he has uhm, brought in some very clever uhm ways of playing, philosophies and I believe that the team we uhm we are playing very well even better than earlier in the season that uhm, got us onto the top of the league".

A Goal from Aldreweireld proved to be the decisive one as he headed in from 5-yeards to give Arsenal the 3-2 lead from a lovely floated cross from Cazorla. His first goal since his arrival at the club.

GIROUD!!!
Great start with Arsenal, beating Chelsea and Tottenham probably already made you a fans favourite :P

League Table

Le Fondre's opening month as Arsenal manager was very strong winning 4 and losing 1 in 5 games, Le Fondre's side went down to Manchester City despite having the better off possesion, Although Arsenal were playing with 10-men from the 8th minute when Toby Alderweireld got sent off. Le Fondre has every right to be proud of his teams performance, dominating possession in every game and unlucky to not have won every game.

Le Fondre sets sights on Quintuple of Free Transfers

Le Fondre has declared an interest in 5 players who can all now be offered free contracts with their current contracts expiring in the summer;

Robert Lewandowski:
The Pole has hit 14 goals in 21 appearances this term for Dortmund, but is unhappy at the club and has announced his intentions to leave under the bosman ruling at the end of the season. Lewandowski has been a long time target of Arsenal chairman Peter Hill-Wood.

Victor Valdes:
Despite Scszesny progressing well and showing the signs of becoming a top goalkeeper, Le Fondre has admitted an interest in Spaniard Victor Valdes, Valdes similar to Lewandowski, is unhappy at Barcelona and feels it's the right time to leave the club and will do so at the end of the season under bosman ruling.

Christian Eriksen:
Eriksen has been attracting the interest of Italian giants Juventus in recent weeks, but has told Sky that with Arsenal's current form in the English Premier League a move to the current table-toppers would be too good to refuse, Ajax have entered negotiations multiple times but been unable to strike a deal with Eriksen who is now resigned to leaving the club in the summer

Jordy Clasie:
Clasie looks to be being brought in by Le Fondre as a replacement to the aging Mikel Arteta and to reduce the wage bill by allowing Arteta to leave and signing Clasie who has lesser wage demands.

Felipe Santana:
Already been offered a contract, Le Fondre has told the press, However it is the work permit which could prove to be the arrow to the knee in this attempted signing, However, If failed. Ron Vlaar is being touted as a possible back-up plan to sign from Aston Villa.

In terms of outgoings from the club, Lukas Podolski, Per Mertesacker and Emanuele Giaccherini all appear to be heading to the exits of the Emirates with Mertesacker considering a contract from Dortmund after a 10 million pound bid was accepted and Giaccherini considering a contract from Sampdoria whilst Lukas Podolski is yet to recieve an offer from a club.
I agree with all of these five signings. Except Valdes.. Anything is better than Valdes.

Arsenal Secure Duo For The Summer

Arsenal fans were in a state of jubilance at securing a duo for nothing which could both rake in a value of 60 million between them.

Christian Eriksen agreed a deal to join Arsenal in the summer with his Ajax contract expiring Eriksen said "Arsenal are a top club, fighting it out in the Champions League and topping the Barclays Premier League, What player wouldn't want to be there".

Robert Lewandowski will also be joining Arsenal only a season after rejecting Manchester City in a deal worth 31 million. Lewandowski turned down contract offers from Barcelona, Chelsea, FC Bayern and a renewed contract at Dortmund to join the London club.

Le Fondre has been praised by fans everywhere with his vision and keen-eye to sign such top quality players on free transfers.

Monreal exits at Arsenal target Alaba

Naxto Monreal set sights on the Emirates exit today, after Ahletic Bilbao triggered a 10.5 million release clause in his contract.

Natxo Monreal exited which has Arsenal set to offer Austrian Full-Back David Alaba an escape from struggling Manchester United, The Austrian has sounded his discontent at the Manchester club with their poor standing in the league, and with Arsenal only having the talents of Kieran Gibbs at Left Back, Alaba's transfer seems imminent. United have set a 22 million asking price on Alaba's head but Arsenal still look set to go ahead with the deal.

Arsenal Draw Reading in FA Cup 6th Round

Arsenal have drew Manager Le Fondre's former club Reading in the FA Cup 6th Round. Le Fondre is said to be happy to face is former club in the tournament but says it will not affect his concentration during the game. The game will be played at The Emirates however, Le Fondre did conceed that to beat his old club, Arsenal would have to be at the top of their game and watch out for the likes of Charlie Austin, Jem Karacan and Will Hughes who could really cause them trouble for the opposition.
SORRY GUYS FORGOT TO DO TRANSFERS OF JANUARY!!

January Transfer Review

Players In:

David Alaba - The Austrian Left-Back arrived at Arsenal in a deal worth 22m after Alaba was looking for an escape route from struggling United situated 11th in the league.

Players Out:

Per Mertesacker - German Mertesacker left the club for 10 million when Dortmund were left with few defensive options following injuries and Mertesacker jumped at the chance to return to his homeland.

Lukas Podolski - Podolski had agreed a deal with Schalke to join the club for the rest of the season on loan, Schalke will pay 40,000 per month, and 70% of Podolski's 100,000 P/W wages.

Natxo Monreal - With a 10.5m release clause in his contract Athletic Bilbao raided Arsenal for their Left Back who had put in some outstanding performances for them over the season so far, and Monreal said the chance to return to Spain was to good to refuse.

Emanuele Giaccherini - Giaccherini had become surplus to requirements under Wenger and hoped a change in manager would change his fortunes, However it was not to be and just 2 weeks after Le Fondre's arrival at the club Emanuele was on the move.
Great signings. I wonder why you didn't offer Monreal a contract though. Nevertheless, a great replacement.
