My Journey in Football Management (from Unemployed)

With only two leagues this month, November was all above the FA Trophy, and since we’ve already been knocked out of the FA Cup it would be nice to put our shaky league form to one side and enjoy a good cup run.

It was disappointing to have to go into a replay against lowly Concord Rangers, but we got the job done in the end and it turned out the 1st round was a breeze, thrashing AFC Hornchurch 4-1. Vincent Pericard scored a sublime hat trick in this game and hopefully that is now the sign that he’s overcome his injury plagued start to the season.

We only had two league games this month, gaining one victory and but a disappointing home defeat to Bromley. We are still in the relegation zone but not by much, hopefully our good cup form can cross over to our league form.

I agree Toon, as long as we remain hard to beat we will not go down, there are far worse teams in this league!

You absolutely needed those wins in that month. A good cup should help the finances, but nothing feels better than an unbeaten run in the league. Good work

I think after that awful start the play offs might be out of reach this season, but you never know!

Thanks Akash, that unbeaten run was defiantly needed, morale in the squad was rock bottom.

What a busy month that was, and I have mixed feelings about it aswell. Although on paper it looks pretty bad at the end of the day we picked up two league wins and they will be vital come the end of the season, we are by no means out of this yet.

I was absolutely gutted when we lost 1-0 at home to AFC Hornchurch at the start of the month, it was only a week ago we thrashed them 4-1 in the FA Trophy 1st round. Speaking of the FA Trophy we soon got knocked out of that competition as well, though I’m now not bothered at all, we have a much bigger relegation battle to focus on.

January is another big month for us, with five massive games. If we could manage three wins I think that would be enough to see us move out of the relegation zone.

What an incredible month, I really can’t believe how fantastic we performed and just like that we are now well out of the relegation zone and looking to push on up the league.

Despite the disappointing home defeat to Weston-super-Mare we won every game this month, and we finally look a team worthy of playing at this level. I was starting to doubt myself and my abilities as a football manager but together with the lads we stuck at it and finally all our hard work on the training ground is starting to pay off.

It was chuffed to bits to win my first ever Manager of the Month award, it was the icing on the cake to an almost perfect month, and if next month is just as good at this one we won’t be far off those play off places.
