August 2013 Results

August is a big month. It is a brilliant chance to pick up as many points as possible, and with no cup games, we should be able to get the points with fully fit players, setting us up for the tougher months. However, some fixtures are quite hard.

Rubin Kazan 1-0 Kuban - RPL - 03.08.13

Rubin Starting XI – Ryzhikov, Cadu, Navas, Marcano, Ansaldi, M'Vila, Ururu, Ryazantsev, Natkho, Destro, Dyadyun SUBS – Arlauskis, Tore, Orbaiz, Eremenko, Fierro, Forlan, Rondon

Mattia Destro (74)

Alexandr Ryazanstev (63)

Luaj Ururu (6)

Yann M'Vila 8.1 (Rubin)

Not a brilliant game, but nevertheless, three points that we need. A fairly boring game, but very nice to see Destro scoring. However, more goals will be needed if we are to do well this year. However, a good game.

Ural 0-2 Rubin Kazan - RPL - 10.08.13

Rubin Starting XI – Ryzhikov, Cadu, Navas, Marcano, Ansaldi, M'Vila, Ryazantsev, Ururu, Dyadyun, Forlan, Destro SUBS – Arlauskis, Tore, Orbaiz, Eremenko, Rondon, Portynagin, Fierro

Vladimir Dyadyun (20, 55)

Cesar Navas 8.9 (Rubin)

A great win for the boys. A nice double for Dyadyun, and a solid three points. The continuation of the success could be key this year, and the three points are vital at the moment. Nice to see Cesar Navas putting in a top performances again.

Amkar 1-1 Rubin Kazan - RPL - 10.08.13

Rubin Starting XI – Ryzhikov, Cadu, Navas, Marcano, Ansaldi, M'Vila, Ryazantsev, Ururu, Dyadyun, Forlan, Destro SUBS – Arlauskis, Tore, Orbaiz, Eremenko, Rondon, Portynagin, Fierro

Mattia Destro (90+2)

Yann M'Vila (69, 89)

Mattia Destro 8.2 (Rubin)

A game we really should have won. We dominated all game, but just couldn't put the shots away today. We are lucky to even get a point, and a last minute goal from Destro really saved us. This wasn't an acceptable result, and I hope this was just a one-off result.

Rubin Kazan 1-2 Zenit - RPL - 10.08.13

Rubin Starting XI – Felgueiras, Cadu, Navas, Marcano, Ansaldi, Natkho, Ryazantsev, Ururu, Dyadyun, Fierro, Portynagin SUBS – Arlauskis, Tore, Orbaiz, Eremenko, Rondon, Destro, Fierro

Cristian Ansaldi (60)

Cesar Navas (36)

Hulk 8.6 (Zenit)

I really hope this form doesn't continue. Although Zenit are a good side, they played poorly, and we really should have seized the opportunity to get all 3 points. It was nice for Ansaldi to get a goal, but the strikers really should have helped.

Player of the Month

The month was a very mixed one, but one player played well throughout, and even managed to grab a goal from being in defence. He gained solid ratings every game, and was unlucky not to pick up a Man of the Match award. Nevertheless, the player of the month is: Cristian Ansaldi.

Russian Cup 5th Round Draw

Rubin Kazan have drawn Second Division side Avangard Kursk. The game will be played on Saturday 14th September at Avangard's ground.

UEFA Champions League Group Draw

Rubin Kazan have been drawn in one of the toughest groups, with all three teams to play becoming tough fixtures for the Russian side.

FC Bayern Munich
Liverpool FC
Rubin Kazan
Celtic

Monthly Review

The month hasn't been too great. We had a good start, but really should have got the three points against Amkar, a weak side sitting fairly low in the league, and we especially shouldn't have left it until the last minute. The loss to Zenit also certainly hurt, especially after the recent contract rejection. I hope this month will blow over, and the results will pick up again as soon as possible. We still have an okay position in the league though, but it could certainly be improved.

League Table

Sixth place isn't too good, and I feel we should certainly be higher. However, with a small gap of just 4 points between us as first, we still have a very good chance to get back on top soon.
Unlucky, but you can bounce back and win the league again!
It wasn't the best month but I really think next games will be better for you.
Great story you have here, with awesome winnings! ;)
Dat CL team..
Louis: I certainly hope so!

Murtagh: I definitely agree, a very poor month, and thanks.

Jeremy: I know, I'm dreading it!
Although I will be on the site a lot less, I will still be very slowly updating my story. There may be an update every few days, and I will try to do one whenever I can. I will also have a new skin for this season. Although I'm not posting as much, I want to still keep it going strong, so any comments would be much appreciated still. The first few updates will come tonight, as I have a free day!
Awesome as always, just unlucky against Zenit! Your story was certainly very challenging to beat to the SotM award and rightfully so. Hope you continue with these updates, no matter how slow they take. :)

Kanchelskis: "Ansaldi Could Leave Argentina"

http://cache.daylife.com/imageserve/03cKgW21S1aGQ/610x.jpg

After Cristian Ansaldi was left out of the Argentina national side once again, Rubin Kazan boss Andrei Kanchelskis stated his disappointment at the decision of Alejandro Sabella. Ansaldi has currently played for Argentina twice, but the 26 year old has felt he has deserved more chances after his recent performances in Russia, making many critics and fans fall in love with the player.

Andrei released a statement on the official statement regarding the current drama:

Ansaldi is an excellent players. He was one of our best players last year, and will certainly be a key player for us this year. How Sabella can leave out players like Cristian baffles me - it is a poor decision that he may regret soon. I don't see how Insua and Zabaleta can take the places away from him. Without Ansaldi, Argentina will soon lose their rank at number one in the world.

It is expected that Ansaldi may soon retire from international football if not selected too, in order to avoid disappointment and focus on his club career.

Cristian Ansaldi is currently valued at £11.75 million.

Rubin Kazan vs Real Madrid - Super Cup Final

This is a massive game for us. After the amazing run in the Europa League, a game against a team like Real Madrid is a great way to get experience for the upcoming Champions League. This is a tough game, and we are by no means the favourites, but win or lose, it will hopefully be a great game to play...

Line-Ups:

Rubin Starting XI – Felgueiras, Theophile-Catherine, Navas, Marcano, Ansaldi, M'Vila, Ryazantsev, Tore, Dyadyun, Destro, Rondon SUBS – Arlauskis, Cadu, Orbaiz, Ururu, Fierro, Forlan, Portnyagin

Real Starting XI - Adan, Carvajal, Mateos, Ramos, Coentrao, Ramires, Modric, Ronaldo, Ozil, Di Maria, Morata SUBS - Lopez, Alonso, Valencia, Borja, Pepe, Callejon, Jese

31 MINS: Yellow card for Yann M'Vila of Rubin Kazan. A harsh tackle on Cristiano Ronaldo.

32 MINS: GOAL! CRISTIANO RONALDO BLASTS HOME A FREE KICK FOR MADRID. HE WON'T HIT ONE AS SWEETLY AS THAT FOR A WHILE. 1-1 NOW. RONALDO YOU BEAUTY!

51 MINS: Cristian Ansaldi is cautioned for Rubin Kazan.

67 MINS: Ronaldo becomes the first Madrid player to recieve a yellow card, for simulation.

80 MINS: Last few minutes of the game now with the scores still even. Extra time looks to be on the cards with neither team able to break the deadlock. 1-1 with 10 minutes to go.

88 MINS: GOAL! GOAL! GOAL! OZIL HAS DONE IT!!!! MEZUT OZIL HAS SCORED THE WINNING GOAL WITH JUST 2 MINUTES REMAINING. THIS IS UNBELIEVEABLE, WHAT A HEADER! SURELY MADRID HAVE WON THIS. GOAL! GOAL! GOAL!

89 MINS: You really have to feel for the underdogs Kazan here, having taking the lead and then lost it in the last few minites.

90+2 MINS: Wait, what's this. Rubin are on a counter attack. It's 4 v 2, surely... Dyadyun.... POST! IN THE LAST MINUTE THEY'VE HIT THE POST. SO UNLUCKY!

90+4 MINS: Full time here in what has been an outstanding game. Madrid have got what they wanted, but Rubin have played with their hearts on their sleeves and have been so unlucky.

It has become a tough result for the team to take, but they played well, and deserved more than what they got. Losing to a team like Madrid in just the last few minutes is still something to be proud of, this is a day I won't forget for a long time.

Unlucky Devil, maybe you can win it next year, I certainly hope so! :)

The End Has Come.

The hills are alive - with the sound of Kazan. Today is the day that many Rubin Kazan fans would be dreading, just not so soon. Andrei Kanchelskis, the manager, today announced his retirement from the beautiful game. Today, at 11:52am, Andrei Kanchelskis posted this on the official club website:

"Unfortunately, I am today calling my retirement from football all together. This was a hard decision to make, but it had to be done. Following the loss to Real Madrid in the cup I was going through hard times. You see, winning everything in the first season didn't set me up for this. I was in shock, didn't know what was going on. As a result the club chairman send me to a Buddhist. He tried to help me, and did very well. I have seen a new way of life, full of peace and harmony. I will not live in a world full of football hooliganism, match fixing and Zenit fans. Therefore, I am off to the hills. I am living my family and everything else behind to live in the hills of Amsterdam.

The team trip last season to Amsterdam with the team for the EURO cup final was a great experience, which is the reason I want to stay there, forever. I would like to thank everyone who has helped me. Sir Alex, for kick starting my career, all the staff at Rubin Kazan for helping me through everything, the players for their support and help throughout the season, and of course the fans, for supporting the team and myself. Thank you Rubin Kazan for everything, the memories, the alliances, and the success. I hope you get a lot more success, and not just in the cave paintings I may make."

So this is it. Andrei Kanchelskis will live in the hills. In his short, but successful, managerial career, he managed to lift the Russian Super Cup twice, the Russian Premier League, the Russian Cup, and the UEFA Europa League. Kanchelskis built a solid side at Kazan, who will hopefully live on to be the best. Andrei certainly made Rubin Kazan Russia's Finest.
