Financial Objectives
Short Term
Stop Decline In Balance: The club's overall money balance is declining rapidly. The club will go bankrupt if it keeps leaking money. We have to find a way to get out of the red (negative balance) and in to the black (positive balance). If we don't achieve this, it doesn't matter how well we perform in the league and cup competitions. (Priority Status: Critical)
Reduce Wage Spend: Our wage spend really isn't that big, in comparison to other clubs, but it is far too big for a club in our financial position. We will need to find a way to reduce our wage spend without compromising the quality of our squad. This will be a tough challenge but the sacrifices may just prove to be necessary. (Priority Status: Important)
Medium Term
Develop Positive Financial Projection: As seen in the previous part of this e-Course, our financial projection was horrendous. We want to restructure the club's finances in a way that our projected income will outweigh our projected expenses. This will put us in a good position to develop the football club in a way that allows us to move up the leagues. (Priority Status: Important)
Increase Wage Spend In Controlled Manner: To compete in the higher divisions, we will need to increase our wage spend. However, we will need to be careful with how we go about this and must keep our finances in control. If we can keep control over wage increases, we will get the most out of our finances. (Priority Status: Medium)
Long Term
Become A Wealthy Club: The eventual aim, on the financial side of the game, is to become a wealthy club with cash to burn. It will take a lot of work but it is achievable. It will require good league performances, good cup runs, increased attendances, improved sponsorship deals and control over expenditure in order to achieve. Becoming a wealthy club would certainly boost our opportunities in the transfer market and allow us to develop the club's facilities at a whim. (Priority Status: Medium)
