Matchdays & Match Engine
Nothing’s really changed in here in terms of features or functions.
You still get your match preview, pick your matchday squad, see the team sheets, give pre-match team talks, manage the game, tunnel interviews, post-match team talks, etc.
The axes upon which players move/animate has seen an overhaul, so players can control a ball, dribble and run more accurately.
From my own observations of the match engine – there hasn’t been anything ground-breaking done.
However, I will say that it plays a lot more fluidly now, you don’t get as many silly tight-angle shots or stupid crosses, and the ball doesn’t float over a helpless defender so often.
An organised and practiced defensive line is a lot more secure with this match engine. Much credit has to go to SI for that. Goal celebrations still look like failed TikTok dances, though.
