Match attendances
Written by AaronHJFT96Match attendances are a very important part of Football Manager to you, especially if you are looking to gain money from ticket sales. However, attendances will be a lot more important if you are playing an LLM save (Lower League Management), considering the poor financial states of teams in leagues such as the Skrill South/North/Premier.
Winning Games
The best way to increase your match attendances is, naturally, winning games. There are a lot of people, who you may refer to as “glory hunters” or “plastic fans”, who will only attend your team’s game if your team is winning games. If you were to go on a winning streak of let’s say ten games, you would definitely see a difference in your attendances because let’s face it, successful teams have bigger fan bases than less successful teams. For example, if you were managing Bath and your average attendance was around 1200 supporters, and you were to win 10 games on the trot…You would most likely see your attendance rise by about another 100 people. This doesn’t seem like a lot but in the lower leagues, it makes a huge difference.
Winning leagues and getting promoted will also raise your attendance dramatically, as your club’s reputation will grow tremendously.
Attractive Football
Playing attractive football, is without a doubt one of the best ways to increase match attendances. Of course it is easier said than done... You do need to actually have a strong enough team in order to do so. Because if your team is weak and you are being played off the park each game, how is attractive football supposed to be accomplished?Attractive Football is usually enjoyed with an attacking, high paced style of play. So this is probably the best type of football to get your team playing. No one wants to see their club sitting deep and playing a counter attacking style of football, unless you’re managing Chelsea, of course. People enjoy watching elegant football. You just have to look at the amount of people who admire Pep Guardiola’s and Brendan Rodgers’ footballing philosophies to know that a high paced, attacking (yet possessive) game is what people enjoy watching.
