Hi guys,
With a heart touching interview a few months ago, Jurgen Klopp announced that he will quit his job at Liverpool at the end of this season because he lacks the energy to do it.
Even if my nickname here and on my youtube channel clearly states that I am mostly inspired by Pep Guardiola's positional and possession football, what Jurgen Klopp did at Liverpool in 8 years is impressive and is also a source of inspiration for me, as Guardiola, Klopp always tries to innovate and evolve, he does not stick to only one plan but he tries to change according to the players he has and this is what makes managers like him become great.
This is my second version of Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool 2023-2024 tactic in Football Manager 2024.
After watching some analysis of recent Liverpool matches, I created this tactic. The match which inspired me was the one against Manchester City finished 1-1- in English Premier League on March 10th 2024, where the Reds dominated their opponent with a continous pressing and always attacking and Man City was lucky to conceed only 1 goal,
In that match I saw the application of pure Gegenpress, and Liverpool played more directly, leaving possession control to Citizens but dominating the game especially in the second half.
Let's see how I recreated this tactic in Football Manager 2024. You will see your players playing very high (maybe you should not use this tactic with lower leagues teams but only with strong teams with strong defenses, player like Virgil Van Dijk are fast so they can chase the opponent also if they play higher, but if you have Harry Maguire then you will concede a lot of goals. Besides you will see your players playing a very vertical football, direct and exploiting all the spaces, passing the ball into spaces instruction combined with underlap left and right allow me to recreate exactly those Liverpool player moves I saw in the match against Man City (runs and underlaps).
Overview
In possession
In transition
Out of possession
Thank you everyone for your support.
A hug from your tikitakamaster
