MacAssistant 2012 was made available quite late (by the end of summer) but it was the only working scout tool available for Mac OS X and FM12.
Mac users who have been counting on Genie Scout by using Winebottler (or similar), sadly GS13 won't work with Mac at all. But we have promised you we would release a scout tool for Mac.
And now we are happy to announce that MacAssistant is confirmed for FM 2013 and will be exclusively released here on fmscout.com!
The author of the app is Thanos (thanoulas). We will quote his own words below:
After SI's decision to lock down the saved game files this year, the only solution was to get the data from the memory, and that is what I did with MacAssistant RT.
Picking up where MacAssistant 2012 left off, the work continues on MacAssistant RT,
for Football Manager 13. The first beta will be released in a few days, and will include
everything that was included in the '12 version.
A lot of exciting features and improvements are coming too, in later releases. MacAssistant RT will include shortlisting functionality, so you can save the players you find in MacAssistant RT and load them in the game, without the need to search again for them. Staff, Clubs, Nations and other game objects will be included as well, all through a constant stream of monthly updates you'll get from the application's smart auto-update system.
But MacAssistant RT will also need your help! Due to the fact that I had to completely rewrite the loading engine, it is to be expected that there will be some bugs to hunt down and kill. Reporting any bug you come across is vital, and this will be handled by the new bug tracking system that will be introduced to FMScout in the near future.
MacAssistant will initially support the latest Steam version of Football Manager 2013, and every future version from thereon. It will also be initially published for Mac OS X 10.7 and 10.8, and I will also try to build a version for 10.5 and 10.6 right after that.
Discussion: MacAssistant RT for FM13 is confirmed!
