Netherlands WC2014 Tactic

A look at the tactic used by the Netherlands in the 2014 World Cup, specifically to defeat Spain 5-1 in the opening group game. Expect goals galore and some amazing wide play.

Firstly let me say this is a tactic created based on the first game of the 2014 World Cup. The aim is to recreate the tactic used by the current Netherlands team, in Football Manager 2014. I hope lots of people give it a go and most of all I hope it creates some discussion and debate.

The formation is a 5-3-2 or more specifically a 3-2-2-1-2.

I've got the tactic set to balanced but I'd definitely suggest switching to counter at times depending on opposition and the game situation.

The key positions in this formation are the two wing backs and of course the explosive attacking players. RvP and Arjen Robben.

There is a real mix between direct passing and playing the ball short. Allowing quick incisive attacks but also the ability to retain possession.
