Rangers snatch Kilmarnock ace
Rangers have announced the signing of Kilmarnock's
Mark O'Hara for an initial fee of
£1.5 Million which could eventually rise to £1.6 million.
The 18 year old has been on Dean Byrne's radar for some time now, with 2 bids already turned down this window for the youngster. O'hara had attracted premier league attention with clubs such as
Cardiff and
Southampton showing an interest.
Rangers boss Dean Byrne had made it clear in recent months that he was unhappy with his sides defensive options and felt it needed bolstering.
O'Hara has been a regular in Kilmarnock's defence this season, playing 14 of the 24 games in the Scottish Premiership. The large fee may be seen a risk for The Gers however as the club continues to battle a financially difficult period.
Rangers have had little trouble in the Scottish League 1 so far this season, and lead by 20 points with just 12 games left.
