Extended stay for Lewis

Rangers have been boosted by the news that Lewis Macleod will be staying at Ibrox for a further year as Cardiff allow him to develop.

Lewis, who was ever present with The Gers in their invincible campaign played 31 times in the league scoring 8 goals and got 11 assists.

Billed as the next Graeme Souness, Lewis was one of Rangers brightest lights in the past few years but was sold to Nottingham Forest in order to help clear some of the debt Rangers have accumulated.

As part of the deal, it was agreed that Cardiff would loan him back out to Rangers in order to aid his development as well as help Rangers achieve promotion.

The premier league outfit however were open to an extended deal for Lewis, as they see him more as one for the future and feel Rangers is best suited for him at this present moment.

The Tactics

3-5-2

The first of the 3 tactics we are going to employ is a 3-5-2 formation focused on dominating possession and outscoring the opposition. I used this towards the end of last season and it worked quiet well for me. This will be used against teams which I feel we can beat easily and we can score a few against. Not only is this offensive, with a defensive midfielder and 3 center backs the opposition find it hard to break through unless they go wide, which I feel we can deal against.

4-5-1

I am a fan of the 4-5-1 and used it for the majority of last season. Again I use it to retain possession and try to be solid defensively. This will be used when the opposition pose a greater attacking threat or if we want to preserve a lead.

4-2-3-1

Another attacking option we have which is in here purely just to add a bit of variety. I don't tend to use this much but if we have a few injuries in certain positions I could use this. Mainly though it will be the above two.
Some nice tactics, and even better results, with the signings boosting your side :)
Cheers Pauker! :D

Byrne linked with Hearts

Hearts boss fears sack

The pressure is mounting on Hearts boss Gary Lockie as he has brought in no new faces this transfer window in which the fans are outraged at.

The Edinburgh club finished 10th last season, although they were deducted 15 points at the start of the season, meaning they would have finished 2nd. However all does not seem to be going well behind the scenes at the Tynecastle Stadium with the club selling some big name players and no replacements in sight.

Yesterday a protest was held outside the stadium, with up to 6,000 Hearts fans attending. Some banners read "Lockie Out" showing the clear discontent within the area.

It is expected the board will make a decision on his future at the club within the coming days, and some bookies have even gone as far to link Rangers boss Dean Byrne with the job.

Rangers were Byrne's first venture into management and he successfully guided them to promotion to the Scottish Championship after an unbeaten season. It is unclear however if he would have any interest in a new job. The following are the odds given from bookmaker Paddy Power on the next manager of Hearts.

Dean Byrne (evens)
Alex Mcleish (3-1)
Scotty McKilt (6-1)
Scotty McKilt hahaha he appears to be some kind of Sesame Street character, google him :P
