Rangers sign promising duo

Rangers have announced their only two signings of the January transfer window today with two big names coming into Ibrox today. Rangers fans have been rewarded for their patience as they begged the manager to strengthen the squad before the end of the season.

February - Derby Joy

A good month for Rangers as they go unbeaten in 3 meeting with Celtic through February,Advancing in the cup and beating them in the league. However there was a some negatives including a disappointing defeat at home to Patrick Thistle

On the month...
Overall I'm happy with how we got on. Obviously the games against Celtic were extremely satisfying mainly because I now know a way to beat them. In all 3 games we played on the counter attack and they struggled to break us down. We scored on the break most of the time but the performance as a whole was also fantastic. We too managed an important win at Hearts with Paterson bagging his first goal for us against his former club. The two defeats though to Dundee and Patrick Thistle cannot be ignored. We need to continue our good form for the last few months to consolidate 2nd place

On Emmanuel Frimpong injury...
It's an unfortunate one. After our final game against Celtic, Frimpong landed awkwardly and will be out for another month. it's frustrating as he made an immediate impact on our squad, scoring a delightful goal against Hearts.

On league position...
It's quiet tight in the race for second. I would hope that we could go the rest of the season unbeaten and hopefully with a 100% record. We also have St.Mirren in the quarter finals of the Scottish Cup, which we will be looking to win
Well done on beating Celtic :)
Well done on beating Celtic, always nice. Nice signings too, be looking forward to see how the progress :)
@Pompeyblue - Delighted mate :D

@Radders2109 - Cheers mate :D
Once again lads sorry for the lack of updates and recent activity. Unfortunately time has not been kind to me and FM has suffered! I have just finished the season and will post a 2 month update within the next 3 days, hopefully sooner rather than later :D
Beating Celtic was the highlight of the month, and others, whether they win the title :P

End Of Season - Going To Europe!

So the 2015/2016 Season has finished with Rangers ending up in 2nd place. Many expected Rangers to finish here at the start of the season so all in all The Gers fans will be content with how they fared as there first time in the top division as a new company. Dean Byrne will also be glad that his side managed to end their cup drought, defeating Motherwell to lift the Scottish Cup

On the results...
The final two months were all about consolidating 2nd, with a few teams trying to catch us. We managed some good results, obviously apart from the Celtic game which we were dominated in. The 5-1 defeat to Motherwell saw most of our Under 19s make their competitive debuts, with the main lads returning for the final.

On qualifying for Europe...
To say I'm excited is an understatement! This will not only be a great source of income, but it makes us more attractive now in the transfer window. Let's hope we can do well!

On cup success...
About bloody time! We have been looking dangerous in the cup's for the past two years but could never deliver when it mattered. We bossed the final against Motherwell and I look forward to more domestic success next year!

Some really good results there, although unlucky against Motherwell. Congrats on finished second, hopefully you can improve next season and try and get that top spot!!
Cheers Nick! :D

Ireland prepare for Euro 2016

With just 26 days left until the start of the 2016 European Finals in France, The FAI (Football Association Ireland) have announced 3 preparation friendlies.

Ireland first trip is away in Africa to Algeria. Many may question the relevance of playing an African team to prepare to face European outfits. The FAI's thinking behind this is to get the team prepared for very warm temperatures. It's expected to be a very warm summer in France this year and is something that Ireland will have to get used to very quick.

The final two friendlies are both home affairs against Poland and Croatia. Both the Polish and Croatians have qualified for the tournament, and are obviously in different groups. Ireland will surely remember the 5-1 thumping given to them earlier in the year by Croatia, Dean Byrne's first defeat as Ireland manager.

The Irish fans will be hoping for a summer to remember, and will not want a repeat of what happened in Euro 2012, where they did not manage a single point in the finals. Although they understand what a tough group Ireland have been placed in, they still are slightly optimistic that the Boys in Green can qualify.

Ireland will face Greece in their opening game, before facing the darkhorses of the tournament Belgium, and finally finishing with World Champions Spain.

Lukaku Targets Ireland

Romelu Lukaku has announced that Belgium are "Very Confident" that they can at least reach the quarter finals of the European Finals, and believes that they can secure 6 points against both Ireland and Greece.

Speaking at a press conference just weeks before the finals begin, Lukaku believes that this could be Belgiums finest tournament to date. Belgium have been touted as one of the favorites for the tournament, but will have to face the mighty Spanish in the group stages.

Here's what Romelu had to say when quizzed on various subjects including :

On the group...
The group we have been drawn in is difficult, but it could have been worse. Obviously Spain is going to be the toughest game because of their style and the technical ability all their players have, it will be a difficult game but we are a good team too. Greece have proven that they are very physical and strong defensively but myself and (Christian) Benteke have been scoring a lot of goals in England and for Belgium so we won't fear them. I think the important game is against Ireland. We played them twice in the group stage and won one and lost one. If we don't get 3 points in that game we are in big trouble, because I know we are easily capable of beating them.

On Tournament Hopes...
We are very confident of going to the semi finals at least, we feel this is our year and the manager has put a lot of work into our preparation. If you look at our team we have stars all over the pitch, We have the golden generation of Belgian players.

Belgium finished 2nd in their group, just ahead of Ireland. They first face Spain in their group before facing the Irish again and finishing up with Euro 2004 champions Greece.
