Byrne Rubbishes Rumors

Dean Byrne has rubbished claims that he would leave Rangers to take the Hearts job if it became available.

Speaking with just days to go before the season opener with Queen of the South, Dean Byrne finally put to bed rumors that had been circulating around the papers for the past few days.

Current Hearts manager Gary Lockie is said to be under pressure over his transfer policy and it had been reported that the Premiership side were looking into replacing him with the Rangers boss.

Dean Byrne assisted The Gers on their second successive promotion, after going an impressive season unbeaten in The Scottish League 1. However, he was quick to say that he was not interested in what the papers were saying and confirmed he is happy at Rangers.

"I don't know where this story has come out of, when have I ever looked at another job?" Said Byrne.I've had a blast here so far and long may it continue, my aim was to regain stability to the club and get them back where they belong so tell me why I would throw all that away?

Listen I don't have time to be entertaining silly rumors like that, I have a contract with the club and I will honour it.
you are lucky haha, would have lost a follower :p..im so happy your staying at Rangers :D i no longer need to do my story because i have this great one to follow and support :D
1
Haha had to add a bit of tension :D You're not doing your story? You should I still have a lot to live up to! :(
Right so after a bit of initial difficulty, I have began to download the full version of the game. The next update will be tomorrow and I shall have a few up during the weekend :D

August - A Solid Start

Rangers carried their fine form from last season into this campaign with a solid start to the season. They managed to pick up 10 out of a possible 12 points.

On the month...
Very happy with our attacking play this month but I still have question marks over our defending. We remained undefeated which is always good and to be honest a draw away to Hibs is a good result

On the new league
Yeah the standard is higher anyway you can see that with the amount of chances teams create against us

The Gers progressed to the 3rd round of the challenge cup but it was not quiet as straight forward as they might have wanted it to be.

On the games...
This cup is not important to me and I wouldn't mind leaving it early. However, we managed to get through after a penalty shootout victory over Queen of the South and we will now face Hibs again

2 comfortable wins ensured the chance of an old firm in the League Cup for the second year in a row.

On the results...
Happy to beat Hibernian after drawing with them in the league. Motherwell however will be a tough game but the lads will want revenge after losing out to them last year.

On the chance of an old firm...
I think that's what everyone around the city wants. Let's take one game at a time first though

On league position...
It's been a good start for us, where were we want to be. We played some good teams this month, especially Hibs who will want to go up this year too

September-October

Rangers enjoyed a good two month period but suffered their first ever domestic defeat under manager Dean Byrne since he took over last year.

On the month
Overall I was quiet happy with how we got on. The first half of the month was great and we scored a lot of goals but we didn't seem to carry the same threat in the second half

On the defeat...
It was going to come sooner or later. We played very poorly in front of our home fans and Queen of the South capitalized. The lads were devastated in the dressing room so hopefully this can spur us on

For the second season running Rangers will face Celtic in the Scottish League Cup. Celtic beat Rangers on that occasion 3-1.

On the results...
A great result against Motherwell serves as good revenge for last year when they knocked us out. The game against Dundee was not as comfortable as I would have liked but we got through and that's all that matters

On the Old Firm...
What a draw! Ideally it would have made a great final but a Glasgow derby at any stage is a great occasion. After last seasons defeat the lads are pumped to get a win. These are the games I will be judged on

On chances of cup glory...
The winner of this will win the cup, this is practically the final

Rangers payed the penalty for failing to put away their chances as they crash out of the challenge cup for the second year running.

On the results...
Two penalty shootouts just shows how we fail to finish teams off. Hibernian have proved to be a tough test for us this season and it will certainly be between us two for the title

On league position...
Ok so we're 2nd, but it's still early yet in the season and Hibernian are a Premiership team, there is no reason why they should be playing in this league.

On next month's aims...
Next month we play Hibs which will be a huge game. Our aim is continue winning and by the end of the month be top of the pile
Great story so far m8 :) Unlucky to lose against Queen of South but still great results! Nice draw against in the Old firm, you will win the next one ;)
Cheers Alex :)
I will post a 2 month update tonight :)

November - Two Horse Race

Rangers enjoyed a good November, regaining top spot in the league evn after losing to title chasers Hibernian

On the month...
Another defeat which shows the increased quality this season. We did well to bounce back though and the other 3 games we never conceded a goal. We need to carry this form into the next month.

[bOn the defeat...
I'm not going to lie the better team won. I was disappointed with the lads as I thought I had pumped them up enough before the game, this was a title clash so I expected more. I let them know what I thought of the performance after the game

A tricky draw was tackled head on as Rangers knocked out promotion hopefuls Ross County and previously Cowdenbeath

On the results...
2 good wins against 2 very different teams. We played a lot of youngsters against Cowdenbeath and they did very well but Ross County were a different kettle of fish. It was a good win and raised morale as they are one of the top teams within our league

On the draw...
Scottish Premiership teams is what we want and St.Johnstone are a side I fancy my chances against. That's the level we want to be at next season so it could be a good benchmark for our season

On the labelled cup drought..
There's no question that we could be performing better in the cups. Since I've taken over we have never looked like serious contenders for a cup so hopefully this will be our year

On league position...
Back on top and our aim now is to cement that. We lost to Hibs which meant they had a 3 point lead but results went against them and we went on a small run. It's up to the lads now to maintain this and push on further
If you maintain this lead, the top Scottish division awaits! Any good regens have come out of the ranks?

Cheers mate :D

Concerning regens none have managed to break into my team yet, I largely have the same squad that I began the save with due to financial issues.
Great update :)
Good to see you top of the table!
