Cheers mate! Hopefully I can get an update up tomorrow :D

October - A Gap Emerges

On the month...
We are drawing far too many games that we should be winning and it's really bugging me. Our defending this month was shocking and it was summed up with conceding 3 at St.Johnstone. Celtic have by far the best defence in the league and it's certainly an area we will have to spend a few million quid on in the near future.

On away form...[/i
It's on the road where we are having problems at the minute. If we played some of those weaker teams at home we would more than likely put 3 or 4 past them but on our travels we look there for the taken.

On league position...
After our up and down month we fall 6 points behind our old foes. We have showed thus far in the season we can score as many as they can, but it's the defensive stat that has them where they are.

On next month's aims...
Only 2 games next month against Motherwell and Hearts so 6 points is the aim.
Don't normally comment on posts, nor would i have thought id have read a scottish league story! But this is quality!
Cant believe Celtic got calum chambers? the southampton youngster??
Is their squad far superior?

Wow thanks for the great comment mate!

Yes they managed to get Calum Chambers and they have a much better squad than us. I will try to get a screenshot up later but they have Tomer Hemed from Mallorca who is banging in goals for fun this year!

Ireland want Byrne

Sources close to the Republic of Ireland camp have confirmed that their preferred choice of manager to take over from Giovanni Trapattoni following the Italians retirement from football is Dean Byrne.

The current Rangers boss is thought to be top of the list for the FAI, and they hope to make contact with him within the next few days.

Giovanni Trapattoni had guided Ireland to the finals of Euro 2012, and leaves them having qualified for Euro 2016. The Irish managed to finish 2nd in their group, just behind Belgium and ahead of Sweden.

Rangers boss Dean Byrne has been in charge of the Glaswegian side since 2013, guiding his side to successive promotions as well as leading them to Hampden park only to lose to Hearts.

Dean was not actually considered the bookies favorite once Giovanni announced his retirement, with Martin O'Neill and Roy Keane both above him in the pecking order.

However it is unknown if Byrne would have any interest leading his homeland into the Euro's and beyond, as it may clash with the busy schedule in Scotland.

More to follow...
International management... it would add a great flavour to your amazing story mate! go for it :D

Cheers mate, Once I seen it become available I knew I had to have a look! Always wanted to get an international team into this story, either Ireland or Scotland :D

Byrne accepts Ireland offer

The Irish Football Association have named Dean Byrne as their new national head coach on a contract worth about £4,400p/w

The announcement was made Tuesday morning after the FAI had finalized the last few details of the contract. The appointment comes with some controversy though, with Dean managing Rangers, a club known for it's majority protestant backing whereas most Irish supporters would follow Celtic.

When pushed on the matter in Dublin, John Delaney from the FAI had this to say

"That's complete nonsense, Most Irish supporters would follow a team in England anyway. Our business is the National team and club matters are none of our concern. We picked the man we thought would have the best chance of bringing success to our country, and Dean was the obvious choice."

Dean Byrne has told our reporters that it was an honor to have the chance to manage his country, and an opportunity he couldn't turn down.

"I'm absolutely chuffed to have the chance to bring my country to the European finals next year, it's going to be a great occassion. I'm certain I can handle both managing a club and country and wouldn't have accepted the job had I doubted myself. I consulted the Rangers board and they were fine about it, I just can't wait for the games to begin"

The Republic Of Ireland have 2 friendlies this week. The first scheduled is an away trip to Liechtenstein before they face Croatia in Dublin, who have also qualified for the European finals.
Ooo, interesting. Good luck w/ Ireland. Hopefully it won't be too tough to manage both Ireland and Rangers.

2 goals too good

Liechtenstein 0 - 2 Republic Of Ireland
Sean Murray
Joe Mason

On the squad...
I've only had 3 days before the game to get to know the lads. It's quiet a different team to the one I remember growing up. Robbie Keane is now 35 playing in France so it's a younger less experienced squad I have

On the result...
A win is a win but I would have liked to knock a few more past Liechtenstein who aren't the greatest team in the world. I tried to move away from the traditional 4-4-2 Ireland always seem to play and used my Rangers tactic. It will take some time for the lads to get used to it but the general mood around the camp was good.

On next friendly...
The Croatia game will be a good indicator of where we stand at the minute. They won their group very comfortably and sit high up in the world rankings. Hopefully we can put on a good display for the home fans
'Grats on winning your first match as Ireland manager. Croatia will be tough, but hopefully you can pull off an upset :)
