Croatian Domination!

Republic Of Ireland 1 - 5 Croatia
Darren Gibson (pen 6') Ivan Perisic 43'
Nikica Jelavic 61' 72' 87'
Mateo Kovacic 86'

On the result...
Croatia showed there class today but it's not as bad as it may look initially. I played my own 4-2-3-1 formation in the first 45, and we went in 1-1 after taking an early lead. I then resorted back to the traditional 4-4-2 in the second half and we got mobbed. It's a good game to have as I now know my preferred formation to take into the Euro's and also managed to have a look at a few fringe players. The result still hurts though.
Unlucky about the result mate :)

Spain is the first team to be drawn. Spain are the current holders of the competition and have a very good sqaud again this year. Ok Zidane can you please draw the second seeds.

Belgium! Belgium won their respective group and will hope to have a really good tournament and please there colorful supporters. Now the 3rd seeds please.

The Republic of Ireland! The Irish finished 2nd in their group behind Belgium so a very interesting draw! And finally the 4th seeds.

Greece! Winners in 2004, Greece are stern opposition to anybody! What a tough group and good luck to all involved!

Group B

Germany, Denmark, Serbia and Belarus! Both Germany and Denmark top their groups while Serbia finished 2nd and Belarus managed to get in via the playoffs.

Group C

Italy, Ukraine, Scotland and Montenegro! Another exciting group with Scotland in their first tournament in a long, long time

Really tough group mate, hopefully you can progress anyway :)

November - A Tough Defeat

2 league games for Rangers who picked up 3 points, losing away at Hearts. In other news they defeated 2nd tier Hamilton in the cup

On the results...
It all started so well with a big win at home to Motherwell. I suppose the ref gave us a helping hand, with all our last 3 goals coming after Motherwell were dismissed to 10 men. The result against Hearts was devastating and I can't see us catching Celtic now as they have the quality to maintain their lead and possibly extend it further. We will aim for 2nd now and try to ensure we have some form of European football next year.

On last month's speculation...
I do accept that all the talk over me getting the Ireland job meant I couldn't have stayed 100% focused throughout the month. However I don't have any Internationals for a long time now so I can concentrate fully on domestic duties.

On league position...
Celtic extend the gap to 9 points and personally I can't see them dropping much more for the rest of the season. They deserve to be there and we can only do the best with what we have for the minute.

Next months aims...
The big one is the away trip to Celtic Park for the Old Firm. It's going to be a tough game no question but we'll give it a lash and hope for a positive outcome
Give Celtic a thrashing and go and close that gap ;)

Tough group mate in the World Cup and unlucky against Hearts but hopefully you can beat Celtic :)

@Joethequin - Easier said than done mate ;)

@Pompeyblue - Yep will do very well to qualify! Celtic may just be too strong for us now though :p

Rangers announce 15 year plan

The Rangers board have announced a 15 year plan in a bid to make Rangers completely self sufficient without having to delve into the transfer market.

Rangers chairman Richie Wright announced the plans in front of the worlds media at a a fundraiser for his charity. Wright plans to only use home grown players through the Rangers academy and not rely heavily on overseas players or pricey Scottish players from other teams.

"We here at Rangers have agreed that we should try bring our younger players through. We have an extensive scouting system looking at the finest young players across the globe and we work night and day trying to bring them into our academy. We hope within 15 years We will have a full squad of world class graduates from the Rangers Centre of Excellence."

Rangers have added to their youth setup in the past few days, after scouting the Irish leagues for the past few months. The following players will join Rangers in the next few days.

Eric McTeigue - Free

Dean O'Connell - Free

Neil Taggart - Free

Dec/Jan - Tough Times

Rangers endured a rough 2 months losing 4 times including an away defeat to fierce rivals Celtic.

On the months...
Not quiet sure what happened to us during the past 2 months. We can't seem to find any real consistency and I think that shows losing to teams like Patrick Thislte yet beating Europa League hopefuls Motherwell away.

On defeat to Celtic...
It all started so promising, Leigh Griffiths fired us ahead in the first half and I was sure we could grind out a win. However they turned on the style and we couldn't cope.

On league table...
A huge win against Motherwell late in the month brought us up to second, that's where we will try to stay. As I've said before Celtic are too strong but if we get European football next season it will have been a successful year for us
Only a quick update lads, Don't have much time on my hands :D
An inconsistent month but hopefully your form will pick up and you can make the gap smaller between you and Celtic.
Pick up your form Dean! Oh, and with 'Scotland in their first tournament in a long, long time' heheheehhehe

Haha was wrecked doing that update so didnt check when they last qualified!
Doing well mate, hopefully you can knock Celtic off their perch sooner rather than later. You might not catch them this season but I'm sure next season you'll get the Rangers first Scottish Premiership league title :P.
