January Transfers
Departures
Thomas Ince- 16 million pounds
Thomas Ince, always a faithful servant to the club, leaves the club for 16 million pounds. I had high hopes for Ince coming into the season, and I made him my captain coming into the season. I planned for him to start at the attacking right midfield, where I was hoping he could take on his man and score tons and tons of goals. Unfortunately, that was not meant to be, and Ince crashed and burned. He was by far the most frustrating player on the team. I saw glimpses of greatness from him, there was a stretch where he scored 3 goals in 2 games, but for the rest of the season he did nothing to help the team and much more to hurt it. In his 19 premier league games, he scored a pitiful total of 3 goals and had just 1 assist. I was glad to offload him to Fiorentina for 16 million pounds, and I think he will disappoint there too.
Luis Arada- 6.5 million pounds
We made a pretty tidy profit on Luis Arada, who we signed for 3.8 million pounds in July. I planned for him to start at right back, but when given the chance, Arada performed poorly, making sure that we offloaded him in January. On deadline day, when I needed some extra cash to sign a fantastic talent, I sold him to Sampdoria for 6.5 million pounds straight up, which I think is a pretty good deal. Thankfully, it made sure that my prodigy will be joining Newcastle.
Arrivals
Waldemar- 11 million pounds
This guy may be the biggest talent I've ever seen since Bram De Vries (ridiculous regen :P). At just 19 years old, Waldemar is already one of the best players on my team. He's a natural playmaker, with some of the best technical skills I've ever seen. He has potential to be the best in the world. With that in mind, I went out and signed him for 11 million pounds, which Is his release clause. I think he'd cost me far more than that if there was no release clause, so I'm secretly relieved. Not only can he partner in the midfield with Johannes Sariola, Bruno Fernandes, and Nicolo Barella, he can also fill the void Thomas Ince left at Attacking Right midfield. This lad and Emmanuel Fernandez can become all-time greats, just you watch.
