October 2019

Well, we've done very well this month to turn around our form. In fact, after losing 5 straight games we've turned it around and gone 5 straight games unbeaten. We're still not playing to our best ability, but we finally know how to score. Maninho and Emanual Fernandez have found their shooting boots, and we've gotten crucial points because of it. The defense has stepped up too, although we really need to focus on our defense from set pieces. It seems like half the goals we concede come off corners, so I've instructed the team to work on defensive set pieces to prevent goals that shouldn't be scored. Alex McCarthy has been fantastic in net as well. I can't count the number of times the opposition has had a one on one that's been saved by an outstanding effort Alex. Hopefully the whole team can carry this form on to the next month.

Analysis

Well, we certainly did have a fantastic month and we got it off on the right foot in the game against A.C. Milan. Milan, one of the biggest superpowers in Europe, were huge favorites going into the game. However, we matched them goal for goal and earned a crucial point that might send us to the knockout stages of the tournament. We continued our good form against Stoke. Knowing Stoke, I knew this would be a hard game to win, considering they played anti-football. However, we still managed to come away with the win after a top performances from Maninho. We were unlucky to take just a point from the Swansea match, considering one of their goals was a freakishly lucky cross that floated over Alex McCarthy's head. The other of course, was off a corner. Then, Red Star Belgrade, a Serbian team, came to town, and we comfortably disposed of them, 3-1. Of course, Maninho bagged a brace. Unfortunately, he took a knock against Belgrade, and would have to miss the game against Blackburn, so I was concerned about our goalscoring ability. It was painful watching Tom Ince and Emmanuel Fernandez waste chance after chance, but the defense held on for a clean sheet while Bruno Fernandes converted a penalty to give us the 1-0 win. We're certainly doing much better than we did last month, but defensive collapses have cost us points. We were 3-1 up in Milan before the defense let 2 sloppy goals fly past Alex McCarthy. Also, we can't rely on Maninho to score for us. When he was out against Blackburn, it was clear that we didn't really have that goal scoring threat, which almost cost us points. Thankfully, Maninho will be back for the match against West Brom in just 7 days.

We're currently 10th in the table, 4 points behind 5th place West Brom and 13 points behind league leaders Manchester City.

We're 3rd in the Europa League Group I, 2 points behind 2nd place Trabzonspor and 3 points behind leaders A.C. Milan.

Player of the Month

Our player of the month is Maninho. What's not to like about this kid? He's fast, He's strong, and he can shot the damn ball. Maninho scored 4 goals this month in 4 games and he's won Man of the Match three times. His average rating for the month of October was 8.2, which gives him the highest overall average rating on the team at 7.41. He's also joint top scorer with wonderkid Emmanuel Fernandez, who was also in great form this month.
Good step up in results! Can I see Maninho's profile? :D

Not a bad month at all, undefeated in both domestic and continental competition. You're mid-table right now and it'll be really hard to challenge the English giants but there's still some room to fight for continental qualification for next season. By the way, what skin is that?

He's a fantastic finisher that's strong and relatively fast, but his mental stats leave a lot to be desired. I'm still contemplating whether to go out and try to sign him from Chelsea when his loan is up, because I don't think he's the long term answer. However, he's still scoring goals for fun now, so I won't complain :P

Yeah, my goal is too push for Europe this season but it will be extremely tough considering how inconsistent the team is. The skin is the OPZ Elite skin. You can find it here
Some good results there, definitley picked yourself up and dusted off. Well done!:P

Today was the day the team's plane tickets to Serbia. Why would we be going to Serbia, you might ask? Well, we had a crucial game against Red Star Belgrade coming up in the Europa League. As a player for Roma, the Europa League wasn't a competition that I thought too much about. When we did well, I focused on the Champions League. When we were in the Europa League, I made the Serie A my top priority. As a manger though, this was different. First of all, the matter of my job came into place. If I finished low in the table, but did relatively well in the Europa League, I'm pretty sure my job would be safe. if I couldn't get out of the group stage, then that was a a different story all together. The second matter was finances. We had spent big this summer, and a win in the Europa League would fill up the coffers, something we desperately needed if we were going to continue to sign players at a high level. At this rate, the bank projection would be an 8 million pound transfer budget. That just wouldn't do. We would have to sell players to make sure we had healthy finances if we couldn't go far in the Europa League. Lastly, the third reason we needed a Europa League run was morale. We have a large team, a team that is rotated constantly. Some players, like Luis Arada, are unhappy because of this. If we fail to do well in the Europa League, the morale will keep decreasing, which will lead to more bad results. It's a vicious circle. So why does a game against a lackluster Serbian side make a difference? Well, we're currently 3rd in our qualifying group. If we finished third, we would not progress to the knockout stages. We're two points from qualifying, and we have 3 games left, but everything depends on our matches with Red Star, and the Turkish team, Trabzonspor, two games we have this month. The Turks, who currently sit in second place, have to play A.C. Milan away. If we win against Red Star, who have 0 points so far, and Trabzonspor loses, we move up to 2nd place, 1 point ahead of Trabzonspor. Then, if we beat the Turks, we've qualified. They would be 4 points behind us with 1 match left to play. Unfortunately, that crucial match will be played in Turkey, and our away form has been less than stellar so far this season. If we lose, we'll be 2 points behind Trabzonspor, and we'd all but be eliminated. Trabzonspor would have to lose to Red Star, who've they already beaten, and we would have to eat A.C. Milan, who we tied. So, this game coming up is very important indeed. The only question now, is who will make it too the knockout stages.

Other Important News

Having already won Newcastle player of the month, Brazilian starlet Maninho picked up another accolade today, Barclays Premier League player of the month. He deserves it, as he's carried the team on his back this month.

Ah, a pointlessly in depth description of why the Europa League is slightly important. Reminds me of my story as it is pointless :P

Not a real milestone, but I like the picture. :P
Two massive European nights ahead. Good Luck and keep up the good work :)

November 2019

Well, it's been another cracking month here at Newcastle, it literally couldn't get any better. The team is playing very well, and the defense has been rock-solid. When players have stepped down, others have stepped up, and that makes for some unlikely heroes. We're scoring goals for fun, and Tom Ince and Ante Rebic have finally found form. The team is like a well-oiled machine, and at the moment, we don't know how to lose. Sure, are opponents haven't been the best, and yes, all our Premier League games this month have been at home, but who cares? Right now, the Magpies are flying high, and hopefully It can stay that well through December, which looks to be a horrible month in terms of fixture congestion.

Analysis

It was a perfect month for Newcastle, which brings our unbeaten streak up to 10 games in a row. After what I saw in the first month, I didn't think it was possible. We're scoring loads of goals, and people like Ante Rebic and Nicolo Barella have stepped up in the biggest way. Tom Ince, our flop of a captain, also regained form, and he scored 3 goals. The defense conceded a grand total of 1 goal this month, and players like Karim Rekik, Simon Tanev, Javier D'Amico, and Elvis Skoljanic have really stepped up in the back. While former player of the month Maninho took more of a back seat, Ince and Rebic have more than made up for his poor month. The West Brom game was an alright one, but once again, we were solid at the back and Ante Rebic scored an excellent goal to win us the game. Ince was the best player on the pitch against West Ham, scoring 2 very important goals to seal the win. The best game of the month was against Everton. Nicolo Barella, who doesn't head the ball especially well, scored 2 corner goals, and Tom Ince grabbed a goal of his own. We've qualified for the knockout stages on the Europe front, and we can still finish 1st with a win over Milan at home. In the win against Red Star, Johannes Sariola scored a rifle of a free kick to give us the first goal, and then the floodgates opened, with Maninho and Johannes Sariola both scoring. In the crucial game against Trabzonspor, Ante Rebic and Nicolo Barella both bagged a double to lead the club to the knockout stages. Although we're pretty perfect at the moment, December looks horrifying. WE play Chelsea, Arsenal, and Man City consecutively, but I hope to get at least 3 points from those game. You know what they say, to be the best, you have to beat the best.

We're currently 6th in the table, 2 points behind 5th placed Liverpool and 11 points behind 1st place Manchester City.

We've qualified for the knockout stages and we can win the group with a win over Milan at home.

Player of the Month

Our player of the month for November was Johannes Sariola. The Finnish center mid scored a rocket of free kick against Red Star and 4 assists throughout the month. His average rating for this month was 7.98, the highest on the team. Sariola is wanted by Lucaian Favre and Schalke 04, but an offer of anything less than 25 million pounds will be rejected.
An amazing month - with lots of goals! :D A great update, too :D

And thankfully, we've won both of them! :D Thanks for the comment. :)
Had to catch up on a few updates but they have been excellent :)
Glad to see that you have turned around your poor start to the season into the stunning 100% last month you just had!
