It was an absolutely incredible October for AS Roma as they brushed aside every challenger with ease, scoring no less than 15 goals in 4 matches, giving up a mere 3. Led by the heroic Mattia Destro, who picked up no less than 5 goals in those 4 games, the Giallorossi attack looks just about ready for anything.
The only match of the four that really troubled the capital city side was when SL Benfica came to the Stadio Olimpico for the Champions League group stage match. Andre Gomes had given the Portuguese side the early advantage, but with just 15 minutes remaining in the match, Totti's men surged back and scored twice through Destro and Ljajic to send Rome into raptures.
Miralem Pjanic continued his impressive run of form in the number 10 role, scoring 3 goals and assisting 3 more during the four match run, including an impressive 1 goal and 2 assist performance against SS Lazio.
The month is not completely over, however. Tomorrow, Roma will take on archrivals SS Lazio in an 'away' fixture at the Stadio Olimpico. The entirety of Rome and Italy itself is gathering in anticipation for the epic clash of these two historic rivals in the memorable Derby della Capitale.
At the end of this run of games, Roma sits two points behind the resurgent Inter Milan that leads the league and will look to overtake them as soon as possible. They also lead their Champions League group by two points over Shakhtar Donetsk and will hope to seal their place in the knockout stages.
