Tough draw (both are financially rich), but you're better equipped :). Though the Lille result was hard to take, it might be good for your players to stay in reach to the ground :P

Screw you, Gueye, you ruined Paddy's unbeaten season!!!!!!!!!!!!! Tough draw, but I think you should be able to get through it - your side are more than capable

PSG DUO RENEW

Paris Saint-Germain pair Blaise Matuidi and Alex have both agreed contract extensions with the Ligue 1 champions.

Both deals were set to expire at the end of the season with the two players free to speak to any club this January but the pair have instead committed their futures.

Matuidi was thought to be high on Jose Mourinho’s shortlist at Chelsea following the Portuguese manager’s fallout with John Obi Mikel.

Mourinho had expressed his interest in the player publicly, stating that Matuidi “has a big future in England”, to which Maradona refused to adhere to the speculation by predicting his stay.

The French midfielder, who signed from Saint Etienne in 2011 for £8.25 million, agreed to sign a four and a half year deal with PSG which will keep him at the club until his 2018.

Former Chelsea star Alex will also stay for the meantime after stalling on a new deal until January, only for him to end up renewing his deal with PSG.

It is thought that Alex was set on ending his time in France at least until the end of the season, with Flamengo and former club PSV Eindhoven both speculated to have been readying bids for the 31 year old defender.

However, after a sensational month of December for the Brazilian at PSG, Alex has had a change of heart and renewed his contract until 2017, a deal that should keep him in Paris until he is 35 years of age.
Great you extended their contracts, they're two awesome and useful players.

MESSI BAGS FIFTH BALLON D’OR

Barcelona star Lionel Messi has regained the World Player of the Year title back ahead of Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo to win his fifth FIFA Ballon d’Or.

Messi took top spot ahead off his eternal rival Ronaldo in second and Eden Hazard from Chelsea in third.

Barcelona won La Liga under Tito Vilanova in 2013, with Messi scoring a staggering 46 goals in 39 appearances.

Former Barcelona boss Pep Guardiola, New York Red Bulls skipper Thierry Henry and Paris Saint-Germain manager Diego Maradona are just three of the high profile names believed to have voted for the Argentine.

In the younger category, Bayern Munich star Mario Gotze was awarded with the European Golden Boy gong after a sensational season with 'The Bavarians' and Borussia Dortmund.

The 21-year-old, who first won the award back in 2011, scored a handy 10 goals in 28 league appearances for Dortmund last season and now has nine goals and eight assists in 24 appearances for Bayern Munich.

On the topic of goals, Messi also triumphed as Europe’s top goalscorer after beating Ronaldo and PSG striker Edinson Cavani.

After winning the award last season, Messi’s 46 goals for the calendar year beat the 34 scored by the Portuguese winger and Cavani’s 29.

The two La Liga stars did however star once again in the FIFA Team of the Year as expected, in a team that contains none other than seven changes from its last version.

The new Team of the Year includes the likes of Juan Mata from Manchester United, Bayern Munich’s David Alaba and Arsenal’s latest signing Neven Subotic.
Goddamn Messi annoys me so much with these countless awards!;( grrr

LACAZETTE SET FOR PSG

Olympique Lyonnais star Alexandre Lacazette will join Paris Saint-Germain next season on a free transfer after agreeing terms with the league leaders.

Lacazette was on his final six months of his deal and refused to renew terms with Lyon due to their poor showing in the league this season.

The 22-year-old winger signs for PSG on a four year deal on £35,000 a week and will join the Ligue 1 champions on the 1st July 2014.

Lacazette’s deal didn’t go as planned completely, however, with PSG wanting to sign the Frenchman now for a minimal fee after agreeing terms, a move Lyon quickly rejected.

The former Newcastle United target has appeared a total of 22 times this season, scoring two and assisting seven meanwhile Lyon sit in 11th place, 29 points behind PSG.

On his way out from PSG will be reserve keeper Nicolas Douchez after agreeing to join Spanish club Sevilla at the conclusion of the 2013/2014 season.

Douchez was set on terminating his time in Paris after falling far behind Salvatore Sirigu in goalkeeping options firstly under Carlo Ancelotti and now with current PSG boss Diego Maradona.

The 33-year-old has appeared just three times this season, all of which have been cup games and he will now join Sevilla on a two year deal after rejecting an approach from Real Betis.
Superb deal! To get him on a free is amazing! Great story as well :)

PSG’s Player of the Month

Alex

I’ve had a bit of a “Harry Redknapp moment” with Alex in that he found his way back into the team simply because I decided to rest Marquinhos last month. Alex has come in and been sensational, even more so after getting a new deal with the club, scoring a hat-trick versus Ajaccio and contributing to a fantastic month of clean sheets.

Maradona’s Verdict

When I said losing to Lille may have been a good thing, this is exactly what I had in mind. The players, just like me, no longer have to worry about unbeaten records and can fully focus on getting the results we need. We played with profuse freedom, albeit versus weaker sides, but you can only beat what is placed out in front of you and I thought we did so handsomely.
Wow, what a month, some amazing results in there. Looks like the league is already yours! Keep it up.

No goals conceded! Great month and the title is pretty much yours (touchwood)

Maradona’s Verdict

We performed very well once more in a month where we progressed through domestic cups and increased our lead at the top of Ligue 1. We got a tough 1-1 draw versus Shakhtar, which of course may leave us in dangerous shores for the return leg in Paris but I believe we will have enough quality to overcome them.
