That is insane money for Walcott, although it looks like it could pay off if he carries on how he's started. Of course PSG snapping up all the talent and will be interesting to see how Banega gets on at City.
A decent month I guess, good win against United(it pains me to say..) Though some disappointing results against Arsenal and Palace, loving your updates.

Raheem Off the Mark

Everybody associated with the club would like to congratulate winger Raheem Sterling on scoring his first goal for England. On his 13th appearance for his nation, he bagged a goal in second half stoppage time, to help England to a 6-0 win over Iceland in their European Championship qualifier.
Jordan Henderson and Glen Johnson also featured in the match, both giving good displays, but Raheem Sterling deserves credit for coming into the game after half time (as a replacement for Theo Walcott) and scoring a goal. A fantastic through ball from Wayne Rooney, captain on the night, opened up space for our 19-year-old, and he finished from a very tight angle at the far post.

Raheem and Brendan Rodgers talked about the goal privately, with Brendan passing on his personal congratulations - but what Raheem said next surprised Brendan. "I don't want to score in every game just yet. As a winger, I want to impress everyone with my other abilities, and I don't want people to expect me to score." Brendan told reporters that he had shown a fantastic attitude in making this statement, and that he was a privilege to have at the club.
Not the best month, But your team did really well to not get beat off Barcelona

Pugliese Progression

It has been a long time since we have heard news on Mario Pugliese's development, but Brendan Rodgers has confirmed that his growth has been fantastic, thanks to a spell on loan with League One Sheffield United.

The Blades sit in a playoff place in the league, and this is thanks to some outstanding performances from the young Italian. Mario has played in 13 league games for his loan club so far this season, and has managed to score four goals, which is very impressive for a defensive midfielder. An average rating of 7.17 has seen Mario be recognized by Italy U21's manager, Luigi Di Biagio, who has given the 18-year-old 5 games for the side since his spell at Sheffield started.

Five very impressive games they have been too. Despite not scoring, which Di Biagio insisted that he did not expect, Mario has put in some great performances for them, including a win against Belgium U21's, where he turned in with a 7.10 rating.

Fans of Liverpool are very excited about Mario, and some have even gone to watch his development at Bramall lane, with very positive reviews indeed.

Ballon D'or Winner Announced

Silva, Mata and Fàbregas were in contention for the award

The winner of FIFA's most prestigious individual award has been announced. The top three were announced last night, all Spaniards - Barcelona's Cesc Fàbregas, Manchester United's Juan Mata, and Manchester City's David Silva. None of the above were favourites when the initial shortlist was announced. The third place went to Cesc Fàbregas, who was very gracious in defeat, and that he was proud to beat the likes of Lionel Messi.

Second place, therefore, went to one of the Manchester-based midfielders... Juan Mata. The Spaniard took his 'defeat' well, and he and Fàbregas quickly took to the back of the stage, where they waited for the eventual winner to collect his award.

So that means that Manchester City midfielder, David Silva wins the award for the first time ever in his career, and he should be very proud of his career. We should take this time to congratulate David on his career so far, and wish the world's best player a happy celebration night with his team-mates following this triumph.
Certainly an improved month, but those lost points could come back to haunt you. Hopefully you can revive your team over January to mount a challenge for the Top 4 spots :)

Duo Pen Liverpool Contracts

Winston Reid and Hallvard Hugøy have both signed contracts with Liverpool FC, haing joined from West Ham United and Rosenborg BK respectively.

Starting with Reid, in a deal which cost Liverpool just £975,000 to bring the New Zealand defender to Anfield, the 26-year-old signs a five year contract with the club.

Reid, capped 23 times by his national side, is not expected to make his debut in Liverpool's FA Cup clash with Tranmere Rovers, due to an injury picked up during his time at West Ham.

Close to recovery, Reid spoke to a BBC reporter about his move. "I was unhappy at The Boleyn Ground after the relegation and that was no secret. I did enjoy my time at West Ham, but I have bigger ambitions than just sitting in the second tier, and when Liverpool made an offer for me, I was flattered. I didn't expect a big club like them to be after me, but I'm happy that they did chase me."

He is not the only player to join Brendan Rodgers' side this month, with Hallvard Hugøy, 16, joining from Norwegian club Rosenborg BK on a free transfer.

The goalkeeper is seen as a hot prospect by Liverpool, and at a club with the facilities that they have at their fingertips, we could be about to see one of the world's biggest talents in action over the next few years. Hugøy is expected to make his debut in the Tranmere Rovers cup tie.

What a great bargain!

Real Madrid Fail in Attempt to Lure Suárez

Liverpool have rejected a £63 million bid from Real Madrid for star striker Luis Suárez, with the striker clearly crucial to Liverpool's plans in the future.

The Uruguayan has been subject to interest from several top teams over the last 24 months, with Arsenal also failing in an attempt to bring the striker to their club. Real Madrid initially contacted Brendan Rodgers for an initial enquiry over the strikers availability, and Rodgers declared £63 million an acceptable price for the 27-year-old. Suárez missed the 2014 World Cup through an injury, which also saw his hopes of winning the Golden Boot award in the Barclays Premier League end.

Suárez has not been in such good form this season, scoring just nine goals in 17 league games. Although this isn't a bad record, it isn't up to his normal standards, and his side are suffering. He is, however, more than happy to stay at Anfield, and had no qualms about Rodgers rejecting the offer, and he could now be an important player for Liverpool in their UEFA Champions League tie against the Spanish giants.

"What can they offer me that Liverpool can't? They are not top of the league; neither are Liverpool. They did not win the league last season; neither did Liverpool. I cannot see a reason for me to move, and I am very happy here playing under Brendan."
63 million? Are they having a laugh? It'll take around £63,000,001 for Suarez to go!
