Good update, He'd be a great signing.
Tanay: We'll see what happens! :)

Jason: Depends how much Standard want for him, they won't be happy with us taking their best 2 strikers :P

Pompey: He'll certainly link up well with Batshuayi, thanks :)

Josh: Thanks Josh :)

September Update

An awful start to this month with two losses to Sporting and Juventus put us down a bit but towards the end, picked up our heads and won against both Marítimo and Pacos de Ferreira in September. The positive of the Juventus game was that we received a lot of money from the attendance which was a staggering 27,246 turning up to watch the match, with estimated income of €435,900 made from just the attendance for just that match.

Onto the results:

Braga 1 - 3 Sporting

André Carrillo (9, 12)
Diego Capel (75)

Rodrigo Battaglia (80)

Braga 0 - 3 Juventus

Fernando Llorente (72)
Carlos Tevez (74, 77)

Braga 3 - 1 Marítimo

Zé Luís (37)
Federico Pardini (57)

Luis Olim (73)
Alex (pen 84)

Pacos Ferreira 0 - 2 Braga

Michy Batshuayi (35)
Éder (pen 48)

A slightly more relaxed month ahead of us in October. We have two Champions League matches which only means more income for us and a cup tie against the fallen giants Boavista. The teams we play in the league are definitely winnable games for the champions.

My new signing made a huge impact as I subsequently took Sadio Mané out of the squad, replaced by a relatively unknown 16 year old just taken from the youth side, lets just say the fans consider him the 'next big thing' at Braga.

Morale High Before Gladbach

Armando Azevedo has told Sky Sports News that morale is high before his sides big Champions League Group Stage match against Bundesliga's Borussia Monchengladbach tomorrow.
Braga have lost the first two matches to Juventus and Atlético Madrid in the Group Stage but face a much lesser threat of Gladbach in their third game.

It's important that we prepare properly and lift our heads up before tomorrow's game and the players seem happy at the moment. We and Gladbach appear to be the weakest teams in Group D but we have a point to prove tomorrow night in Germany.
If we can win tomorrow, it sets us up for the rest of the Group Stage in terms of morale, then we can play Juventus and Atlético with a bit more confidence than before. That's what I'm hoping.
Said the Portuguese manager.
Can't wait to see more updates for this Jack, nice little short one there :)
You can beat 'Gladbach!
Walter: Thanks Walter, will be trying to update more frequently now on :)

ZapdosTheGreat: I'm definitely hoping so!

Braga to Sign André Leão

Braga manager Armando Azevedo has confirmed the signing of André Leão on a free transfer following his recent release from fellow Liga Zon Sagres side Pacos de Ferreira.
Leão will officially join Braga on the 1st January 2015. The 29-year old midfielder has signed a contract which keeps him in the north of Portugal until June 2018.
Leão had previously been on a two-week trial at the Arsenalista's and has obviously been impressing Azevedo in training.

Azevedo had this to say about his new man: Right now, we are lacking all-round quality in midfield and that isn't criticising the current midfielders here, they're all brilliant players but Leão offers an all-round ability which is what we need in our search for a second consecutive title. I hope all fans trust me with this signing and welcome him to Braga.

You're back! I've missed this story! Great capture with Leao!

Pretty much this.
Josh and Pauker: Thanks for the comments guys :D Leao is one of the best all round players I'm likely to get at Braga so I'm glad I've got him ;)

With 6 games to be played in November, we need to ensure the squads fitness is on point for all matches as we have some tough games. We've got two Champions League games against Gladbach and Juventus, who will prove to be a big challenge for us apart from the Champions League matches, we have a reasonably easy month in November.

Player of the Month

Michy Batshuayi

An incredible month for the Belgian international as he netted four goals in six games for us, including a hattrick in the cup against Boavista. I hope he carries this form into November.
How on earth did you beat Boavista by so much?! Other than that up and down month with some improvements to be made which I'm sure you'll make :)

Trust me, Boavista have changed a LOT over the years, they've been stuck in the Second Division for years with a mediocre side. ;)

November Update

A few solid performances in the league has carried on our decent form with an unbeaten run in the league for November. We also grasped hold of a knock-out round qualifying place in our Group with a second win over Gladbach in the Group Stage. We just have the tough challenge of Atlético to face and we may just sneak into the knock-out rounds.

Onto the results!

Braga 5 - 3 Beira-Mar

Michy Batshuayi (8)
Abel Camará (pen 11, 63)
Nuno André Coelho (23)
Diego Rocha (30)
Éder (33, 55)
Jérémy Ménez (81)

Braga 1 - 0 Gladbach

Jérémy Ménez (45)

Braga 4 - 0 Lixa

Federico Pardini (7)
Nuno André Coelho (31)
Eduardo Vargas (38)
Sadio Mané (85)

Olhanense 0 - 1 Braga

Eduardo Vargas (81)

Juventus 2 - 1 Braga

Bibras Natkho (5)
Leonardo Bonucci (14)
Stephan Liechtsteiner (43)

Vitória Guimaraes 1 - 1 Braga

Moreno (35)
Jérémy Ménez (72)

We face a difficult month in the last month of the year, we play Porto on the third and if we could win that it would set us up perfectly in terms of morale for the Atlético match which is the final game of the Champions League, if the favourites, Juventus win against Gladbach and we manage a draw against Atlético we go through so I'm hoping the squad will be in good spirits before the Champions League match

Player of the Month

Nuno André Coelho

A superb month from our captain this month. He bagged himself two goals against Beira-Mar and Lixa and kept the defence in order as usual. A really great month for the Portuguese center back.
