Good Month For The Red Devils

Rhodes stepped up when needed this month

Some results can make.......or break a season in football and it is sometimes the last gasp goal to gain a draw, when really it was a match that you should have won that matter. In Jordan Rhodes, United have a player who could step in if the reported link of Robin Van Persie, who missed the last three matches for no apparent reason leaves.

Rhodes, who started 4 matches this month, the most since his arrival from Blackburn for a fee that could rise to £23m got the last minute goal against Hull to save a point and claim second in the league. United were undefeated this month although it included two draws that should have been wins against Fulham and Hull.

It started with a regulation 3-1 victory against a Spurs side devoid on confidence. Eriksen setting up two goals and hitting the bar too. Mirallas and Van Persie scoring the goals to give United 3 points.

Mirallas the scored against Fulham in the 3rd minute and United actually bossed the match but they could not finish them off and Fulham hit on the counter attack to score a late equaliser.

Then Mirallas made it 3 goals in 3 games as United defeated Zenit at Old Trafford which included a 25 yard stunner by Nathanial Clyne and that was someway to score your first goal for the club which was only his third goal of his career for the now regular England right back.

United and Van Persie the scored twice in a 2-0 win at Villa Park. Aston Villa have had an alarming slump in form lately and find themselves struggling now. United had now not lost a match since Man City thrashed them and there was evidence that fans were getting on Brendan Rodgers' side again.

Naismith scores another hat-trick

That was confirmed against Nottingham forest when the popular Steven Naismith, who is fast becoming a Manchester United icon scored his Seventh hat-trick for Manchester United since signing. The scoring was started by Rhodes but then it became the Naismith show because Forest just could not contain the hit-man and he could be in line for a massive pay hike at United at the end of the season. He was thrilled with the performance, The boys played fantastic football out there today and we really showed what a team ethic we have. Jordan has had to be patient but since he has had a run in the side he has been fantastic and I am also very pleased to have got another hat-trick I am in a purple patch at the moment and I love playing for this club.

They then went from 3 great performances to a shocking one, with the exception ofcourse of Jordan Rhodes who got a point for United by himself!

Then a tight 1-0 victory to West Ham, who are actually playing lovely football but Wilfried Bony also showed Manager Rodgers that Van Persie is not needed anymore.

The biggest movers in the league this month were Crystal Palace who are now out of the relegation zone. Wigan and Huddersfield are still outside the zone too and Wigan are looking a good team. Everton have recovered to 10th with Cardiff and Stoke very high in the league also. Chelsea remain 5 points clear of both Manchester United and Liverpool with Man City trailing in 4th.

Rodgers Verdict

Awesome month, that is all I will say. John Stones won the Young Player Of The Month award again and we did not lose this month. Steven has been fantastic though hasn't he and will be at this club for as long as I am. I think we had some wonderful results and the draws do not even bother me because we played well int hem.

When I bought Jordan I just new he was going to be an amazing player. He proved that this month with some really outstanding performances. The match against Hull we were really tired and fatigued because Hull are quick but he kept his head and that last gasp goal was absolutely outstanding.

We finally made it back to second place in the league and now we need to put pressure on Chelsea and it can be done but Jose has his side playing so really good football but they are always one step away from disaster in my view and that is something we can try and capitalize on.

This month will be the deciding factor I think as we play both Liverpool and Chelsea. If we finish this month unbeaten and beat Chelsea then it is GAME ON.

Shock Result As Messi Second As Team-Mate Beats Him To Award

It takes a lot to beat Lionel Messi to the World Player Of The Year Award and usually when you even dare talk about it, it is usually Cristiano Ronaldo you talk about about.

This year however, it wasn't Messi who won and it was not even Ronaldo, who did not make the top three with Fabragas coming in third place but it was in-fact there team-mate, Andres Iniesta. In a surprise result Iniesta has just pipped his team-mate to the gong by a very small margin.

At the Awards Ceremony Messi was very complimentary of the winner. Andres is a wonderful team-mate and is an exceedingly talented individual. He really deserves to win this award because overall he had been just slightly better than me this year but I will be back to fight for this award next year.

Iniesta was in shock and when it came to a speech, he actually could not say anything.

Iniesta has won the voting by 112 points even though he had a lower Average Rating and scored less and assisted less but still somehow overcame the Argentine in what will go down as a massive, massive shock.

Sandro Close To Returning

It seems a long time ago now that Sandro was Jailed and banned from all football until January 24th but just 3 weeks before the Newcastle match, where he will make his return some fans are asking has he learnt his lesson?

What I did was wrong, very wrong but I know I can make amends and I do not even want to think about why I did it and what happened because it was a real dark moment of my life and I want to thank Brendan Rodgers and Manchester United for sticking by me and I look forward to being able to play football again.
Really enjoying the story

Transfer Window Open

In Spain Real Madrid are expected to make major moves during this transfer window with reported interest in tireless Roma midfielder Alessandro Florenzi. The 23 year old has been the subject of increased speculation recently since interest in Robin Van Persie has apparently cooled and Madrid are planning a £27m move to The Bernabeu, which may not be far off the mark.

Meanwhile, 25 year-old centre-back Toby Alderweireld could be about to move from Atletico to Valencia and Barcelona are thought to be looking at the possibility of bringing winger Everton Ribeiro to the Nou Camp.

Finally in Germany Bayern Munich are expected to make major moves during this transfer window with a reported interest in defensive midfielder Fernando. The 22 year old Shakhtar player has been the subject of a possible £18.5m move to the Allianz-Arena maynot be that far off the mark.

Fernando, now at Shakhtar is a £18.5m target for Bayern

Elsewhere Dortmund are said to be interested in fighting Juventus for Barcelona's Dani Carvajal and Schalke are thought to be chasing 24 year old Bojan also from Barcelona.

Madrid Sign Van Persie

It is understood the Legendary striker WANTED to leave, despite United offering a new contract and Van Persie said no.

I am pleased to be joining a club with no off field problems and would still like to Thank Manchester United for the last 3 season's. Ultimately they have a lot of younger players coming through and my chances were going to get less and less. I want to win everything with Real Madrid and I can not wait to get started.

Naismith: United Captain

In an absolute shock move, United's Manager Brendan Rodgers have announced that Steven Naismith will now take over as captain. This is a monumental rise to fame by the former Kilmarnock, Rangers and Everton striker who will now lead the Red Devils until the end of the season for now.
lot of changes at Old Trafford :O
Hate to see RvP leave to Madrid, but you got Steven Naismith as captain :P
1
£11m, potentially £13 is a great deal for a 31 year old. And you do love Naismith lol :P
1
Or Yeah but it was a great move by Rodgers if you ask me :)

Walter Yeah Madrid really wanted him :)
Sad to see Robin go, but Naismith captain? I don't agree. Sorry.
Josh_MU I thought I would split peoples opinion :)

Liverpool Beat United But Get Fined!

0-1

In a match that made the headlines for all the wrong reasons for Liverpool, they beat United by one goal to nil as one of the league best defences continued their fine form as Liverpool beat United.

Flamboyant midfielder Coutinho gave Liverpool the lead with a nice effort from 11 yards out in the 33rd minute. Thing went from bad to worse for United when Kevin Mirallas was sent off for one of the worse two footed tackles in recent times
Manchester United just could not put the ball in the net though as Liverpool held on to go second in the league.

It was after the match when Luis Suarez posted this image on social media site Twitter.

It landed Liverpool a £80k fine but they did not apoligise because it was apparently very funny but Suarez said sorry after with a smile on his face. Liverpool move upto second in the league but it is only a three horse race as Man City are 4th 9 points behind.
Trust Suarez to do that :))
