Title Race Hots Up in England!
Finally then Manchester United's unbeaten Premiership run comes to an end, not against a top six side but against Wigan of all teams.
United started with a fantastic 3-1 F.A Cup victory in the 4th round Replay with Andros Townsend, Nicolas Castillo and Jordan Rhodes bagging the goals to set up a tie with Norwich.
United then relied on the ever impressive Steven Naismith to save them against Huddersfield. At half time they were 1-0 up but Rodgers threw on Castillo on the 70th minute to devestating effect. He he a screamer from 25 yards out but then on the 75th minute he won a penalty, where captain Steven Naismith powered it into the top right hand corner to make it 2-1 and keep United firing on all cylinders.
Candreva scores two against Cardiff
Then followed a demolition of Cardiff in 33 frantic minutes where United scored
four times with Antonio Candreva and Castillo getting a goal each in the first 5 minutes. Candreva and Mirallas finished the game off quickly and although they scored 2 in the second half United were never in any trouble.
Man Utd then followed it up with a 2-0 victory against Norwich City and it also saw a first goal for the club for Chaker Alhadhur which allowed them to get through into the 6th round.
United then played Barcelona in the first leg of the Champions League First knockout Round and it was billed as a very tight encounter between two very in form sides and that is how it proved as it was only a bit of brilliance by Neymar that got the goal. He picked the ball up on the 16 yard box with 3 players around him and he unleashed a fantastic curling effort which De Gea did not get near. United had Clyne sent off for 2 bookable offences too.
Neymar bagged the first leg's only goal in the Champions League
Steven Naismith stepped up to the plate again for United against Swansea by scoring yet another penalty taking him to 6 taken and 6 scored all season. Swansea were 2-1 up at half time but Naismith, who has been fantastic again this season bagged a second half brace after linking up with former Everton team-mate Kevin Mirallas to win the match for Manchester United.
Wigan's former Arsenal striker Park Chu Young ended United's Premier League unbeaten run
Then Wigan ended United's Premier League unbeaten run with a great goal from Park Chu Young.
So even with there defeat against Wigan, United stay top because Chelsea, in Mourinho's words
FUCKED IT UP!. Liverpool, if they beat United in the game in hand have have would be just 3 points behind Chelsea. Arsenal and Man City, still manager-less are fighting over the last Champions League spot and a big shout out to
Huddersfield and Wigan who are 8th and 10th respectively.
Rodgers Verdict
Well it is still in our hands and that is the main thing. I think all the hostility to me has been resolved because I have shown the fans that I can stick it out, the people who roughed up my Daughter have been arrested and the fans showed me they did not agree what what happened and I am determined to win the title for these fans and this team.
We are in the hunt still for three trophies and I mean three despite the unfortunate loss to Barcelona. I was very proud of them though because I took this young squad away to the Nou Camp, the home of a massive Spanish team and we should have drew because of the offside goal that never was offside by Sandro. But these things happen and me and the team will get revenge in the second leg.
This month coming up is probably the biggest I have ever faced as a manager.

We have Arsenal first but we play Man city at home twice this month. There are two chances to get revenge or the way I am looking at it, two victories to show them that they are the second best side in Manchester.
