Joining Forces

Delfino Pescara and Oriental have linked to form a new affiliation
Chairman André Silva has made a bold start to his life at Oriental Lisbon, and the new chairman has quickly shown his intentions for the club, making his first big move in setting up an affiliation with Italian Serie A outfit Delfino Pescara.
As part of this new link, Delfino Pescara will now have first option on Oriental Lisbon players. This means that if Pescara match a bid for an Oriental player, the offer is automatically accepted by the feeder club.
In addition to that, Oriental Lisbon are able to loan players from Delfino Pescara and the wages will be paid in full by the Italian side. Oriental do not need to play the loanee and Pescara are able to recall him at any given time.
Finally, Oriental will receive a fee of £41.57k a year throughout the duration of the affiliation. Neither side will compete in a friendly, however, as the link is designed for loans and transfers.
Oriental have also terminated the affiliation with former parent club Aves as the former were now playing in a higher division than their parent club, against Portuguese FA ruling.
Oriental Chairman André Silva: "I'm delighted with the link and the direction the club is going. We're showing ambition and taking a forward-thinking approach. This can definitely benefit both teams and I know I can't wait to see each side reap the rewards."
As was said above, nice affiliation which will hopefully be of a benefit to you in the transfer market!

Youth Facilities To Be Upgraded

Oriental Lisbon have confirmed their youth facilties will be upgraded
In another forward-thinking move by new Oriental chairman André Silva, the club have announced that they will upgrading their current youth facilities in order to help youngsters develop.
New chairman André Silva joined only a month ago but has fast made himself popular among fans after making some ambitious moves, including setting up an affiliation with Pescara. His decision to keep club icon Vitor Martins has also gone down well.
"The facilities aren't amazing here, and it's something I'm committed to improving," 51-year old Silva said. "Benfica and, most notably Sporting, are famed for their academies. They always produce quality youngsters and we want to join the trend.
"We want to eventually overtake them," proclaimed Silva. The current facilties are reportedly not the finest down at the club's headquarters in east Lisbon and Silva is said to hold ambitions to develop youth.
Martins himself has explained in the past that he'd love to develop academy players into first team players but said at the current facilities it just didn't seem possible.
"The youth facilities in their current state... I don't think they're good enough to nurture future first team players," last year's Manager of the Year said. "We've got some promising youngsters, but in order to fulfill their potential, they need better conditions to work in, so I'm glad the chairman is doing this."
Nice writeup as per usual Walt.
