Back very well, and have had good matches end!

Fabio Cannavaro claims the Jupiler League manager of the year award

Fabio Cannavaro has won the manager of the year award for 2014/15 because of his great results this season for Anderlecht. Fabio and Anderlecht had a very poor start to the season but were able to sort out the problems that were haunting them midway through the season and ultimately went onto lift the title after a very strong final few months of season. Anderlecht have now lifted the title two years in a row under his management

Fabio Cannavaro had a few words to say upon winning the award

" I was told I had to do a speech, to say a few thank yous and was lying in bed a couple of nights ago till about 2.30 in the morning thinking what I was going to say. I had it all planned out perfectly, fell asleep - and then was woken up at 4am when my cars were being driven off in the driveway! This award is massive, an achievement I hold very highly.
This award is voted for by journalists, who can be your biggest critic and get on your nerves sometimes, but they all know football and I am very respectful of their thoughts, and very proud they have decided to give me this award this year.

I look around the room and see so many managers [pictures of previous winners] on the wall. I notice there are not so many Italian managers in recent years., and me this one, being an Italian it makes me very proud that I have performed well enough to be voted for. It is a great advert for Italian and Belgian football.

For this year I have to thank Roger Vanden Stock for giving me the opportunity to manage this very well run club, supporting me with transfers, upgrading facilities and not giving up on me during the struggles this season, and also to my fantastic bunch of players who also stuck by me and my methods, cant wait to continue to work at the club next year and beyond"
What a fantastic comeback from 5th place to winning the title!! Amazing season, and some really good signings as well. Not a bad showing in Europe, either, a 2-1 aggregate loss to Juventus is extremely impressive; keep building, and in a few years you could be a real European powerhouse! :)
Good job winning the title mate

Anderlecht sign Hazard and Campbell after successful loan spells

  • Barcelona and Dortmund show interest in Tielemans
  • David Villa arrives in Belgium to link up with Anderlecht

  • Anderlecht have announced the permanent signings of Thorgan Hazard and Joel Campbell, Hazard has spent the last two years on loan at the Belgian champions registering 18 goals and 23 assists, Jose Mourinho obviously didnt see a future for Thorgan at the club and let him join Anderlecht for $1.4m which is brilliant for us cause he was initially valued at $12m so this is a great piece of business for the club

Joel Campbell joins Anderlecht on a free transer after his 3 year deal at Arsenal came to an end without playing a competitive fixture for the club. Arsene Wenger will obviously feel annoyed that the talented attacking midfielder never made the grade, Anderlecht were quick to snap the player up after a very successful loan stint seen him bag 8 goals and 5 assists. these two signings Anderlecht will not be resting on their lorals and will look to go a step firther in Europe next season
    Nice signings mate
    Great signings!

    2015/16 Jupiler League fixtures released

the draw has been released for the 2015/16 season with reigning champions Anderlecht facing Mons in the opening match of the season, with newly promoted Heist heading to Vanden Stock in round 2.
we have to wait til September for a big clash involving Anderlecht when they travel to liege to play Standard Liege. Boxing day and New Years matches involve playing Mouscorn and Charleroi respectively

    Pre-Season results

Pre-Season started with two wins from two against Levski and Lokomotiv Sofia respectively with very good performances, we then welcomed AC Milan to Constant Vanden Stock and recorded a very good 3-2 win despite fielding an under strength team, that followed with a 1-0 against FCV Dender.
our last two matches finished with a win and loss as we finalised tinkering with our tactics. Overall though a very pleasing pre-season and now we'll be looking for a very good season ahead

Anderlecht complete deal for young Stefano Denswil

Belgian champions Anderlecht have completed the signing of highly rated Dutch defender Stefano Denswil on a 3 year deal, The fee is believed to be around the $7,000,000 mark which is relatively cheap considering the potential of the player. Anderlecht had been scouting Stefano for several months and finally decided to make the move for him when Stefanos relationship with Ajax hit rock bottom, the reason being Ajax's inability to sort out a deal which matched the players needs

'This is a move that I really wanted to make,' Denswil said. 'I have heard nothing but good things about Anderlecht from everyone I spoke to.
'I wanted to join a bigger club and that is why I have arrived here. I'm looking forward to pulling on the shirt and playing in this magnificent stadium, and I will give this Club my maximum.'
Anderlecht manager Fabio Cannavaro said: 'Stefano is a player who has been on our radar for a while and we are delighted to bring him to the Club.
'He is a player who I am sure will excite our fans. He has strength, hard work and commitment, and is going to bring a talent, energy and quality to Constant vanden Stock that our supporters will enjoy.
Great preseason there! Result against AC Milan is really good :)
Wow, very good pre-season, hopefully you can impress again this campaign! Good luck!

Anderlecht get there title defence underway

Anderlechts season started off with a bang scoring 7 goals in our opening two matches with a 4-0 and 3-1 wins over Mons and newly promoted Heist respectively, Hazard being the star of the show scoring a hattrick in the season opener, we then travelled to AA Gent and went down 3-1 despite dominating the match, yet again our final pass let us down when it really mattered.
things got back on track with a win against our bogey side KV Mechelen running out 2-1 winners and the final match of the month seen us play Lokeren and yet again chances went begging in a match we really should have won, the match finishing 1-1

so after the first 5 matches of the season we sit top of the Jupiler League equal on points with Club Brugge and Standard Liege, both these teams will be there or thereabouts come the business end of the season so we will need to keep up the good form throughout the season

Newly promoted Heist and Oostende look like early relegation favourites after terrible starts to the season

    Player of the month

Thorgen Hazard has claimed the player of the month award for August with some terrific displays which has seen him score 4 goals in the opening month of the season and also applying an assist to go with that. we will be hoping for more of the same from Thorgan as the season progresses, but there is a long way to go
    Very good pre-season !
Good transfers, and congratulations for personal trophy! You started the new season very well, Gent defeat sin.
a very good start of the season!
About time you got your act together at the start of the season!
Decent month there! And what's this? Neal Maupay?? Love this player ;)
