Whitehawk TV Reporter: "Well William, I suppose at this stage you can almost predict my question for you! The new season begins in a few days, what are your expectations for this season?"

William MW: "Jim, when I first arrived here three years ago, I promised you and the fans that I would be nothing less than honest about anything regarding this football club and what I am about to share with you will be hard for some fans to take but it is now a harsh reality. We were lucky enough to win promotion two times in a row and we survived the drop last season. We are now an established League Two club, in many respects. However, we have had to make significant financial commitments to be able to perform at this level, and this involves taking out loans which add up to no less than £300,000. This is a significant amount of debt for the club and if we do not progress and earn promotion soon, the club will bankrupt and will go in to administration and be liquidated.

Myself and Jim Collins, the chairman, sat down at the end of last season and discussed what the possible outcomes are. The longer it takes for us to earn promotion, the more difficult it will become for us to ever reach those heights and the club will continue to sink financially. So, we decided that the only course of action which we can take is to buff up our squad by spending a large sum of money on wages this season and hope to God that we earn promotion this season. The harsh reality is that if we do not earn promotion this season, the club will go bankrupt. The players and staff are aware of this and we are working as hard as we can to make promotion happen. It is a hard fact to take but the harsh reality is something which we have to live with and survive.

I must ask the fans to be patient and supporting. This season will be extremely difficult for us as we look to beat all the odds. The last time I checked, the odds on us to earn promotion are very very slim. The hardest season of our professional careers stands before us, but we will achieve the impossible. We will become stronger, we will become faster, we will become smarter, we will become more lethal. It is 'make or break' for us this season, and we will make history!"

Whitehawk Football Club today released their new kits for the 2017/2018 season. The makers of this year's kits are Under Armour and the main kit sponsor is Garuda Indonesia. Both the manufacturer and the sponsor are on one year deals so should a better offer come knocking for Whitehawk next season, provided there is a Whitehawk next season, that offer will be accepted.

The home kit is very simple. The main body of the kit is a dark red and has a polo neck. The cuffs have a white stripe, while a white stripe embroiders the upper torso of the kit, on either side of the collar. Whitehawk will wear an all-red kit piece this season at The Enclosed Ground, the proud home of Whitehawk Football Club. The price for this kit is £12 for an adult's kit and £7.50 for a kid's kit. Shorts and socks cost an additional £3.50 each.

The away kit is much more eye-catching. The primary colour is a light blue, with the secondary colour being a darker blue, and it has a dazzling ocean-like design. The kit has a v-neck and stripes going across the top of the chest, similar to the home kit. This kit will be matched by dark blue shorts and light blue socks. The price for this kit is £15 for an adult's kit and £9 for a kid's kit. Shorts and socks cost an additional £4 each.

Thirty-three year old Englishman Nigel Reo-Coker announced on his official Twitter account today that he is training with Sky Bet League Two side Whitehawk Football Club, where the Duke of Cambridge, Prince William, is currently set to undergo his fourth season in management at the Brighton-based club. The former West Ham United and Bolton Wanderers captain is set to train with The Hawks for the whole month of August, hoping to secure a full-time contract at the club.

Nigel Reo-Coker: "I'm delighted to be training with Whitehawk and I am very grateful to Prince William for giving me the opportunity to maintain my fitness. I'm coming to the twilight years of my career now and playing time was scarce for me last season at Burnley, forcing me to go on loan at Exeter to continue playing. The last few seasons have been tough for me but I am determined to get back in shape and get back on form. If I train well enough, hopefully I can get a contract here at Whitehawk or elsewhere in England."

The London-born man started his career at Wimbledon (the original Wimbledon) and made his debut for them in the Championship in the 2001/2002 season. After a couple of impressive seasons, West Ham came knocking and Reo-Coker made a £575,000 move to The Hammers. He was pivotal in the club's promotion to the Premier League after winning the Championship play-off in 2004/2005, and he was instrumental as the club reached the FA Cup final the following season, only to come runners-up to Liverpool after losing on penalties when the score after extra-time was 3-3. The next season proved to be Nigel Reo-Coker's last at West Ham before moving on but it is worth noting that his influence on the pitch did earn him the captain's armband at West Ham during his time there.

In the 2007/2008 season, Aston Villa had a large £8,500,000 bid accepted for Nigel Reo-Coker and the midfielder made his move to the Birmingham based club. Reo-Coker enjoyed a fruitful four years with The Villans and despite an injury-plagued 2009/2010 season, he made a total of 102 league appearances for Aston Villa. The 2010/2011 season proved to be Reo-Coker's last at Aston Villa but it was during this time where he became captain during Stilyan Petrov's frequent injury spells. After being released that summer, enjoyed one-season spells at both Bolton Wanderers in the Premier League, where he became captain, and then at Ipswich Town in the Championship.

In 2013, he signed for MLS side Vancouver and played 42 league games for them before moving to Chivas (USA) midway through 2014. However, after a fall out with the management team there, Nigel Reo-Coker returned to England in January 2015 to Middlebrough in the Championship, making 23 league appearances in one and a half seasons. Last season (2016/2017) saw Nigel sign for Burnley in the Championship but having only made two appearances from August to January, he moved to Exeter in League 2 on loan, making 13 appearances. He became a free transfer in the summer and is still looking for a club. Is Whitehawk the answer?

Results

Well, it was a very mixed start for us this season. We travelled to Port Vale in our first game of the season where we somehow let a two goal lead slip out of our hands in the dying seconds of the game. Walsall then dismantled us with ease in the Capital One Cup before we recorded our first win of the season with an impressive 3-1 victory at home to Newport County. However, we then lost twice due to a penalty against Crewe and our keeper scoring two own-goals and conceding a penalty against Doncaster. I am a little disappointed with the manner in which we lost our games but we can only improve from this point onwards. The new players are still finding their feet and it will take time for them to settle down and play their best football.

Player Of The Month

New signing Billy Roast was probably our best performer in what was a very difficult opening month. The central defender did help to keep the scores down in many of the games we played and even bagged himself a goal. He has a good future ahead of him here and I believe that he will be crucial to our season.

After our opening four games, we sit in a very respectable 14th position with 4 points to our name and a neutral Goal Difference. It hasn't been the best of starts as we are looking for promotion but there are still 42 more games to be played and anything can happen.

September Fixtures

We play seven games next month, including a JPT match away to Colchester. I'm going to play my second team in that fixture as the league is my only priority this season. Our big games come against Burton Albion and Cheltenham. Hopefully we can take some points away from those games. I'm hoping for a better month as we need a good start to get us rolling.

Whitehawk TV Reporter: "William, we're a month in to the new season now. Whitehawk's form hasn't been very consistent so far, why has it been such a struggle to settle in to the new season?"

William MW: "Honestly, I'm not too disappointed with our opening month. Yes, we suffered some disappointing defeats and probably should have taken more points than we did but we are fourteenth right now and we have points on the board, which is vital to us. If you consider that we finished nineteenth last season, a mid-table start is not too bad at all. While promotion is our target for the season, we still have a very long way to go and we can afford to drop points here and there along the way. Although we would like to win every game, every team in the world drops points now and then. It's part and parcel of football.

I don't think our performances have been too bad. We have made a couple of mistakes defensively which have let us down and we haven't taken a lot of the chances which have come to us. If we improve on both ends, we can become one of the top teams in the league. We have a lot of new players in the dressing room now and a lot of big names had left in the summer. It will take time for this new group of players to gel together but they will eventually click and we will become unstoppable when that happens. We have many talented players in our ranks and we've seen sparkles of their quality already this season. It's all about showing that talent consistently and delivering when it counts."

Whitehawk TV Reporter: "Nigel Reo-Coker was training at the club for the past month but he has since gone and has not signed a contract here. Can you inform us on why an agreement was not made?"

William MW: "Nigel is a fabulous player and a fantastic bloke who was an inspiration to the other players while he was training with us. He has captained teams such as West Ham, Aston Villa and Bolton Wanderers, which just showcases how good a player and a leader he is. Unfortunately, we couldn't come to an agreement over a contract and we decided that for him to sign for Whitehawk would not be the best option. It is unfortunate because Nigel still has the ability to play at a very high level and he would have added a lot to our time. These things happen in football though and we just have to move on and keep improving with each passing day."

Results

Unbeaten! I think that's the best way to describe the month just gone by. We opened the month with a boring 0-0 draw away to Gateshead before travelling to Colchester in the JPT. As I had promised previously, a much weaker team played, including my right back in goals for a total of 26 minutes, yet we somehow managed to win on penalties, with the right back (Nigel Seidu) saving the penalty which won us the game. I'm not sure if I'm happy or sad as I see the competition as a hindrance but it is a winnable competition. In our remaining five games this month, all in the league, we recorded three wins, over Notts County, Gillingham and Burton, and drew just twice, against Bury and Cheltenham (the latter being my bogey team). I could not be happier with this month. We gathered an incredible twelve points and progressed in a cup competition, what more could a manager ask for!

Player Of The Month

It was an easy choice this month as Jimmy Keohane stood head and shoulders above the rest in terms of performances. The attacking midfielder scored six times in a prolific month, including a late match-winning brace away to Burton and an important equaliser away to Colchester. He is far from being the most gifted player in the squad but he has put in superb performances both this season and last and he irreplaceable at this moment of time.

Our unbeaten run of six has seen us rise up the table by six places to 8th! We are just one point away from the play-off spots with 36 games to go this season. A lot is yet to happen and we won't allow ourselves any rest but we now have the confidence and belief to charge on and take a promotion place.

October Fixtures

Next month brings us five league games and a trip in the JPT to Plymouth, where I will be fielding a lesser side again. The big game of the month comes first as we travel to a far superior Leyton Orient side, where we hope to snatch a point or three. If we can win three or four games next month, we are doing fantastically well.
