Bond Means Goals

Since the appointment of James Bond, Hermandad Gallega have never failed to entertain fans at the Polideportivo Misael Delgado this season. During the season they've put the ball in the back of the net sixty times. But while they score a lot, Los Gallegos fans are never able to rest as their defensive frailties often undo all the work upfront.
Much of this goalscoring has to be attributed to their front line duo of Eduardo Cañas and Jesús Reyes, the prolific pairing up top. With the former playing the role of target man, this is complimented by the latter's role as the poacher who likes to beat the offside trap.
Another notable contributor to this array of attacking talent is Dervis Barrera. The Venezuelan has rarely complained about his lack of starting appearances but when he is needed the 21-year old always puts in an admirable performance. Often used as a super sub, Barrera's impact has been felt numerous times.
Creating these chances are wingers Granados and Archila. Granados on the left is more of a playmaker than the latter who is seen as your out-and-out winger. He provides pace on the right and has been known to turn opposition full backs on their heels.
Despite this, Hermandad Gallega's troublesome defence means that opposition teams can normally fight their way back into games. Just take the two games against Minasoro FC, and the shock loss to Real Bolívar as examples of the complacency and fragility of the defence.
One must also wonder what effect James Bond is having on these performances. The manager might have to adjust his team talk techniques in order to shut out these poor second half performances. Maybe the language barrier is effecting him? Whatever it is, it needs to change, because his luck won't last forever.
Learn some Spanish you British tw*t, fix that language barrier. Even David Moyes can speak better Spanish than you!
Nice little insight into some of your players' playing style - good to see the team delivering such exciting and goal filled performances. But Neal is right, learn some bloody Spanish, for god sake man!
Neal This is the questionable journalist, dude, he's only planting these suggestions. Bond can speak better Spanish than you sir.

By far my favourite story at the minute, I love well written your updates are!
As for the actual story..... I love your commitment to play in Venezuela, it has inspired me to be more open to the opportunity to manage in slightly more.... desolate areas than western Europe
Also, will Miss Moneypenny be making a prominent appearance?

Justice Why thank you Justice, glad to hear you're enjoying it. Seriously, there is a lot of fun to be had in places such as Venezuela. You don't know anyone so you begin to form attachments (sounds weird, I know) with players etc. which makes the game so much more fun, it's worth giving it a shot. As for Moneypenny, maybe the odd one but can't quite be sure
March 2015: Confidence Flowing
We continued on our form from February in March
Just at the time we needed it we've stuck a rich vein of form. After three wins on the trot prior to March we remained undefeated throughout this month and it's now 9 games since we tasted defeat, a record I'd like to prolong.
March Results
Deportivo Peñarol were struggling big time, and we intended to show them little mercy in our late surge for promotion. Cañas and Reyes, known to fans as the Holy Stingrey, had three goals between them and our midfielders Padrón, Salazar and González, a youth team product, all got on to the scoresheet which was a big positive.
If we were serious about our promotion push a good result at Baralt FC was a must. At the beginning of March they sat in the final promotion place, which was where we wanted to be. Things did not start off well, however, as we sunk to a three goal deficit. But club captain David Dávila grabbed a vital early strike before adding a second fifteen minutes later meaning it was game on. The miraculous turnaround was completed when Eduardo Cañas tapped in a late equaliser, we were still in it!
There's not much to say about our thrashing of Fundácion Cesarger. Despite being a high mid-table team, my boys are in the form of their life and so the result was an easy one to attain. Victorianos, in much the same situation as our first opponents, were put to the sword by all three of our strikers, Dervis Barrera doing a job off the bench with his 84th minute effort.
Travelling to La Guaira, a beach-side city, for our final game of the season was a nice way to finish it off the pitch. Our 2-1 win over Pellícanos FC wasn't as pretty but The Holy Stingrey's two goals proved pivotal in getting us onto a 9 match unbeaten streak.
March League Table
What a productive month! Our streak has kept our promotion hopes alive and 4th place is a really, really good place to be in. We were the promotion outsiders going into this month but our comeback, coupled with all the wins, means we're now firmly in the home straight. The game against Estrella Roja will be the defining moment of our season!
March Player of the Month
Jesús Christ, The Holy Stingrey, O Rey - whatever you want to call him - Jesús Reyes put on his best performance yet. He's an absolute star at this level and his partnership with the rest of the attacking line up is great. What's even better is he's a supporter of the club so I'm positive he'll stay.
On The Training Ground
- Fitness training is important for the remaining fixtures to prevent injuries
- Work on our defensive positioning continues as we're still conceding goals
- Depending on opponent, we may work on set pieces - both attacking and defending
Excellent results Walt, now go get that promotion!
