Very good idea for the story.
Love those league titles won at Sporting :D I hope one day you can get back there, win some titles from the bench too.

You're doing very nice at Tirsense.
Wish you all the luck for the Promotion Stage now, but this was already a great season from you.
And as you have the blood of José Alvalade, you can only be a great one. :)

:)) I like to keep it simple lol

Thank you :) Hopefully I will manage Sporting at some stage in this save.

Season 2015-16: Part Three

Qualifying for the Promotion Stage was mission accomplished in my eyes. I was just happy to be there and enjoy the ride now, in all honesty. Most of the sides in our group had topped their first phase groups and, despite our unbeatable form at present, I felt that we may run into some bigger hurdles than before. Nonetheless, the team were prepared to have a crack.

Our best performance of the season was saved for the third clash at Gondomar. The football was scintillating and they were completely destroyed by our attacking game. 4-2 says we won, but the performance merited 4-0. An absolutely unbelievable game.

Despite this impressive display, it was clear the strength of our opponents in the latter phase of the competition. Felgueiras 1932 and Anandia FC both comprehensively won against us and kept our rampant attack out. However, against FC Cesarense we provided a spectacular comeback for our home fans. 2-0 down approaching half time, Jorginho managed to tap home right before the whistle to put us back in contention. That goal spurred us on, and the other winger Zé Mario equalised twenty minutes into the second period. Jorginho, four minutes later, completed the comeback to seal a vital three points.

Against Trofense we recorded an equally miraculous performance. Striker João Beirão scoring twice to turn the game on its head and give us an unbelievable 3-2 win away from home. We managed to hold Marítimo B in a close game where we went ahead late on. We were pegged back, however, eleven minutes from time.

Finally, teenager Miguel Silva. Replacing Alexandre Guedes as backup striker after his loan from Desportivo das Aves was terminated early, the 19-year old scored twice in two minutes to give us another hard fought and close win to end the first half of this Promotion Stage.

From recollection, Anandia and Felgueiras are setting the pace but I am not entirely sure. Marítimo B are also in the fold and we are not too far behind, but we are definitely not out of the picture, either. Promotion will be a long shot, though.

Player of the Month Season Part Three

For this stage of the season, Jorginho has been in undeniably top form. Unfortunately, it is the last we will see of him for a while. Suffering from a strained stomach muscle, Jorginho is expected to be out for a week or two. To make matters worse, Zé Mario is gone for the rest of the season.

Upcoming Matches

Just a reverse of all the fixtures that have been played already. Some tough matches that will take a lot to win, but we can dream and we will always give our all. The task is made even worse through the absence of two players who have been central to everything we've done.

Nice to see there have been some nice results and performances. It's really very good to be there already, and you're doing good in my opinion.
Sad about the injuries there. And good luck for the second round, as it is still possible let's dream for a minute :D

I fear that the injuries my well end our chances of promotion this season, but yes, I will keep dreaming ;)

Of course you will.

After all, the dream comes first does it not?
Feliks
Yes it does ;)
Promotion looks like a long shot, but the dream comes first Walter ;)

The House of Cards

"The moral of the story is not to listen to those who tell you not to play the violin but stick to the tambourine."
-Jose Mourinho

I walked into the office with a glum expression across my face. The carefully constructed house of cards I had built from the start of the season had slowly wobbled until it finally fell to the ground in a heap. Four losses in a row, promotion out of the question, a host of key players' contracts running out including my own and finally growing discontent among the fanbase.

That is why I made the decision to resign from the FC Tirsense job. I have immensely enjoyed my time here in the Aves valley. I've made connections with lots of members of my squad and staff. When things were going well we were almost unbeatable and I feel proud to have created some lovely, adventurous football here at the Abel Alves Figueiredo.

One of the major setbacks I felt about the job was that they ran semi-professionally. That's half the training sessions, making it harder to impose my ideas to the playing squad. It also means part time contracts for players and staff. No contracts longer than a year long which, financially, was not stable. The finances themselves were poor. I have been unable to afford a course to attain my Continental C License, something I am desperate to do in the next year to progress as a manager. The board politely declined my two requests for this and I respect them for that.

In order to be successful, I believe I need to join a professional club that is dedicated full time to football. If I get the right resources, I am positive I can build a squad capable of winning trophies and playing exciting football. Personally, I don't think I can do anything more to this Tirsense squad and I feel that, while I am not leaving on the best of circumstances in terms of the form we're in (four defeats on the trot), it is the calling for me to part ways with the club and let us both seek pastures new.

Once again, I would like to thank Tirsense for the opportunity. My reputation in the game has not increased greatly, but I am hoping I have earned enough recognition to earn a new job with a team at a similar or even bigger stature. I know of many insecure jobs floating about and at one stage had talks with another club while still under contract, however nothing came of it.

Hopefully during the offseason some available jobs will arise. I know my abilities and I think I can be a great success in the Campeonato Nacional and in the next two seasons I see myself as a manager in the second division. However, I will take things slowly and only take the right job at the right time. Let's hope it comes.

Great spell at Tirsense, but it is a journeyman, and so bigger and better things are waiting!
Good job man. Loving the story :). Upwards and onwards from here, for Vitor.
Good luck with your next job. Hopefully, you can go up a league.
