Nah its not too bad, just would have been nice to be a bit closer to Forli, especially after we beat them last month!
Solid enough, still well in contention for top spot!
Poised to pounce heading into the business end mate
Not a great month but, more than close enough to grab that top spot

Yeah unbeaten is one way to look at it and top spot is still in reach :P

Thanks mate, hoping you're right and we can take our opportunity :P

ALESSANDRO LUCARELLI TO DEPART ENNIO TARDINI?

08 January 2016

Club captain Alessandro Lucarelli is the only player to have stayed at Parma since their demotion to Serie D.
________________________________________
- Veteran 38 year old defender has made 250 appearances for the club
- Contract expires in June, and negotiations over a new deal have stalled
- Defender doesn’t want to play for any other club but Parma

Veteran club captain Alessandro Lucarelli looks set to be departing the Ennio Tardini this summer, after rumours broke that the talks between the defender and the club had stalled over a new deal. The rumours are believe to centre around wages, with the club not being prepared to offer Lucarelli the deal he wants, because of their current predicament, finding themselves in the fourth tier of Italian football. After making his 250th appearance for the club against Virtus Castelfranco on the 6th January, Lucarelli took to his twitter and facebook pages and seemed to confirm his departure, by stating ”It’s a massive honour and privilege to have played 250 games for this club. Hopefully in my final few games I can really help this club to rebuild and reach the heights it wants to.”

Alessandro Lucarelli is the only player, that finished 20th in the 2014/2015 edition of Serie A, to have stuck around with the club, through the rebranding process, after the club was demoted to the fourth tier of Italian football. Back in July the defender stated ”I love this club, so there is no reason why I would want to leave for any other club. Everything about this club speaks to me as a person and it never crossed my mind to leave the club, and I want to be a big part of the rebuilding process.” However, since Paolo Vanoli was made manager of the new Parma back in July, negotiations with the defender have apparently broken down several times over talk of a new contract.

However many Parma fans will be hopeful that the other option comes to fruition, if Lucarelli leaves the club at the end of the contract. There is a belief that Vanoli, although not wanting to give the defender a higher wage, would be interested in appointing Lucarelli as a member of his coaching staff, if the club were to be promoted to the third tier of Italian football or even if they failed to achieve promotion from Serie D.

Interesting situation MG, I hope it works itself out!
Maybe he can join your staff

It's a pain mate but one of the complications of being a semi professional club, just can't reach the level of wages that he's after and it looks like we're going to lose a legend of the club!

I hope so, have spoken to him about joining the backroom team but could do with him signing a new deal!

SERIE D GIRONE D PREVIEW: FORTIS JUVENTUS VS. PARMA

Date: 30 January 2016
Kick Off: 14:00

Fortis Juventus
Based In: Borgo San Lorenzo
Position: 18th
Manager: Fillippo Masolini
Captain: Andrea Gianotti
Key Player: Andrea Bagnai
Injuries & Suspensions: N/A
Last Match: 1-0 Vs. San Marino Calcio
Form:

Fans Prediction: ”We’re starting to show a little bit of form and promise under Masolini and he is starting to steer us away from the danger of guaranteed relegation and at the minute, sitting in a play out spot is better than where we were. But hopefully he can keep guiding us up the table and away from the danger of relegation. However Parma are looking resurgent at the minute and are starting to really coast away at the top of the table so this is going to be a hard game, even if it is at our own place.”

Parma
Based In: Parma
Position: 1st
Manager: Paolo Vanoli
Captain: Alessandro Lucarelli
Key Player: Walter Rodriguez
Injuries & Suspensions: Francesco Luoni, Giacomo Ricci, Matteo Guazzo Alessandro Lucarelli
Last Match: 2-0 Vs. Sammaurese
Form:

Fans Prediction: ”Since we started to line up in a more functional 4-4-2 the performances and results have picked up and we are definitely looking more solid and more efficient going forward which is great to see. It is exactly what we needed to really push ourselves up the league and we’re doing really well to be top and in with a real shot at promotion now. Having said that, I just have a feeling we’re going to lose today. Fortis Juventus are looking a bit more consistent in terms of results and putting in some good performances under their new manager, and I just think they might steal it.”

A John Terry-type situation brewing with Lucarelli? That could turn out very interesting!
Im not quite sure as to whether that logo is big enough!
I think that logo needs a bit of resizing ;) but hopefully you can batter them!

League Table

Player of the Month

Pasquale Mazzocchi

The youngster has really burst onto the scene this month as Parma have appeared revitalised. The winger has made 5 appearances, scoring 1 goal and assisting 3 to really help push Parma into the promotion race. A lot of hard work has gone into turning the youngster into a first team regular and the midfielder has repaid his manager’s faith with some quality performances.

Injuries

Francesco Luoni. The right back, suffered a back strain part way through January, although he will only miss the next 8 days before being available for selection again.
Matteo Guazzo. Unfortunately for the forward, he is once again in the treatment room with a sprained ankle, and will miss the next 5 weeks of the season in a big blow for Paolo Vanoli’s men.

Next Month

After moving towards the top of the table, Parma are in with a real shot at pushing for promotion being 6 points clear. With four games against mid table or relegation threatened sides, and one against promotion chasing teams, Parma start the month at home to relegation threatened Legnago, before surprise package San Marino Calcio play hosts to Paolo Vanoli’s men. A week later, Ravenna will visit Parma in a big game at the top with the visitors hoping to close the gap on league leaders Parma. The next two fixtures against Mezzolara and Altovicentino will be slightly easier with Parma hoping to take six points from the two games.

Other News

24.01.2016: With his side sitting 19th in the Serie D table, Mezzolara took the decision to sack Fabio Bazzini as their manager in hope that the new man in charge can move the club away from the threat of relegation.

Manager’s Thoughts

A really good month, where the only blemish on our record was that poor performance against Union Arzignano. Other than that though we’ve been brilliant in January and we have moved ourselves into first place and now, hopefully, we can really start motoring away towards that promotion place and the chance to compete for the Scudetto. The players are all desperate to do well this year and they’re working extremely well together which is brilliant to see and watch. The new player Simone Edera has settled in really well, which again is pleasing and hopefully if he impresses enough for the rest of the season we can start looking to bring him in on a permanent deal. However that is a long way off at the moment. There are still 14 games left to play, but if we can take each game as it comes and get a positive result in as many of them as possible then we can really start to look forward to life in the Lega Pro next year.
