LEGA PRO GIRONE A PREVIEW: VICENZA CALCIO VS. PARMA

Date: 30 October 2016
Kick Off: 15:00

Vicenza Calcio
Based In: Vicenza
Position: 1st
Manager: Michele Serena
Captain: Thomas Manfredini
Key Player: Mario Sampirisi
Injuries & Suspensions: Piergiuseppe Maritato
Last Match: 1-0 Vs. Venezia
Form:

Fans Prediction: ”We’ve been named the favourites for this league and so far we’re living up to that billing. Parma were expected to be up there and at the minute they’re not, they’re not playing their best football under Vanoli at the minute. Having said that they were really impressive in the cup tie during the week and if they can play at that kind of level again at the weekend then it is going to be a very difficult tie for us, but I do think we will get the three points and continue our run towards Serie B.”

Parma
Based In: Parma
Position: 10th
Manager: Paolo Vanoli
Captain: Alessandro Lucarelli
Key Player: Francesco Corapi
Injuries & Suspensions: Francesco Luoni, Josh Brillante, Simone Corazza
Last Match: 3-0 Vs. US Pistoiese
Form:

Fans Prediction: ”There was talk at the start of the month about whether Paolo Vanoli would be in the job much longer and then we went in and put two very impressive performances against Olginatese and Pistoiese. Getting those wins will be a real boost for the lads, and if we could just have put some chances away in the two home games against Bassano and Pro Patria we would be much higher up in this league. We are good enough to compete this year, it’s just about finding the right system to get the results.”

It is a huge game, let's hope Parma can trump Vicenza!
Beating them lot would certainly throw off the league a bit, maybe you can push on and snatch it after ;)
Best of luck MG!
Huge huge huge game pal! Rooting for ya :)

Huge game, we should be more than capable of beating them but let's see if our form can improve ;)

League Table

Player of the Month

Mattia Minesso

In a month where Parma’s form continued at a steady level, Paolo Vanoli’s men continue to occupy a spot just outside the play off spots. Mattia Minesso has been integral to Parma’s performances this month, averaging an 8.0 rating in all his appearances over the course of the season and the midfielder is in fine form, especially alongside the ever impressive Francesco Corapi.

Injuries

Giammario Piscitella. The former Roma winger came off injured after the 2-0 victory over Vicenza and now the midfielder will miss 5 to 6 weeks with a back strain.
Simone Corazza. The forward, who scored his first goal of the season in the cup tie against Pistoeise, he later suffered a back strain in the same game and will, like Piscitella, miss 5 to 6 weeks of action.

Next Month

November could be a month where Parma really push on in the Lega Pro Girone A. Three of their four opponents in the league are currently below Parma in the table and Alessandria, Parma’s first opponents of the month, lie in 6th, just one spot above Paolo Vanoli’s men. After the visit of Alessandria, Pro Patria welcome Parma to the Carlo Speroni in the cup tie, although Parma will most likely be placing much more importance on the league tie against FeralpiSalo at Lino Turina in the league just a few days later. A week after that Pordenone visit the Ennio Tardini in a big game where Parma will be desperate to pick up another three points, before they end the month away at Giana Erminio, again hoping to pick up three points.

Manager’s Thoughts

Considering I was under pressure at the start of the month, I feel like we’ve improved a lot and are in much better shape. With any luck, we can really push on next month and get some big results, and keep moving forward towards the top end of the table. We’ve had some good results this month and progressing through the cup was really good to see. The win against Vicenza was fantastic, it was probably our best performance of the season alongside the victory against Olginatese and if we can keep winning games like that away from home and start winning games at the Ennio Tardini, we are going to be in fine fettle going forward.

Progression in the cup is always positive, and still well in the mix in the league. Plenty of positives to take, now all you need is a set of results which sets you apart from the other promotion chasers!

Yeah things are really starting to look up! Plenty more to play for and we're in for a good season now I think!

Captain: Alessandro Lucarelli
Key Player: Francesco Corapi
Injuries & Suspensions: Giammario Piscitella, Simone Corazza
Last Match: 3-1 Vs. FeralpiSalo
Form:

Fans Prediction: ”Our form has really picked up of late and we are really starting to look like a team capable of competing at this level which is great to see. Vanoli has led us to second in the table now and I really hope that from here we can push on and claim the three points here, which we should!”

Pordenone

Parma are in really good form and have really picked up their form now and look like a team capable of challenging for promotion back into the second tier. However we’ve shown glimpses of our ability so far this season and if we can just turn up on the day against them then we might have something to say about the result.”
