It is a shame to see you leave, it was an enjoyable journey, but now we have two Everton stories.
Good luck with your new adventure!
Sometimes a manager outgrows a club, and I think this was the time to move on.

My reign as Everton boss starts with a 1-0 win over Burnley in the cup. Not the greatest performance but it's going to take some time to bed in and the players to get used to the style of play I want to use.

6th January

Everton to play Chesterfield or Blackburn away in the FA Cup 4th Round

A great start to my Premier League managerial career. We made hard work of it at the end but I feel like we more than deserved the win against a strong Man City side.

12th January

Lucas Chaves joins Boca Juniors for a fee of 7m

13th January

Lewis Gibson joins Swansea for a fee of 6m

15th Janary

Andre Gomes joins Stoke on loan

16th January

Rob Holding joins Celtic for a fee of 22.5m

A. Zambo Anguissa joins Ajax for a fee of 17.25m

17th January

Andre Green joins Rangers for 9.5m

Jarlan Berrera joins Hertha Berlin for a fee of 21.5m

I'm really pleased with the way we played in this one. We went with our 4-4-2 system and dominated the game for large periods. A much-deserved win. I don't think I've mentioned this but we have three systems that we use. We have a 4-4-2, a 4-5-1 and a 5-2-2-1 (WB).

Another really good win in a match we dominated. The most pleasing thing about this one was the way we dominated in possession of the ball and didn't really give Norwich much of a chance to get back into the game.

22nd January

Now, you may have noticed that we've had an incredible number of outgoings since I joined the club. There is a very good reason for that. When I joined Everton, I decided that I was going to build for the future by moving players on and bring in young players for the future, players that may not be amazing yet but have high potential (according to the scouting team).

Winger Isaac Pereira is the first of those young players to join, joining from RB Salzburg for a fee of 7.5m.

Defender Enrico Martelli is the next, joining from AC Milan for 20m

Left-back Frederic Robert joins on loan from PSG.

23rd January

Right-back Pedro Scow joins from Porto for a fee of 15.5m

25th January

I'll be honest, I'm delighted with this signing! Midfielder Patrick Crooks joins us from Burnley for a fee of 5m rising to 20m in installments. Some of you may remember him from his time with me at Warrington.

Jonathan joins Crystal Palace for a fee of 17m

Seriously disappointing to not win this, especially given the fact that they're a Championship side and we had more than enough chances.

27th January

Striker Ismael Cebolla joins for a fee of 875k from Villarreal. He's another one that can potentially be a future star.

Moving away from the transfer policy slightly as we do actually need some experience, Luke Shaw joins us for 11m from Wolves.

Blackburn or Everton to play Fleetwood away in the FA Cup 5th Round

31st January - Deadline Day

Mattia De Sciglio joins Club Brugge for a fee of 12.5m

Will Huffer joins Barnsley for a fee of 525k

Striker Maxi Gomaz joins from Chelsea for a fee of 16.75m

Goalkeeper Tomas joins from Gremio for a fee of 7.25m rising to 14.25m in add-ons

We currently sit in 9th in the Premier League and I don't see why we can't fight for a European place this season.

Next Month's Fixtures

A very encouraging start and a clear and precise transfer policy is being implemented from the off. A lot of quality brought in for relatively tidy sums of money.

I'd say Stoke were the better team in this game but we took our chances to run out 3-0 winners. The scoreline definitely flattered us, do I care?, NO!

We really made hard work of it but we beat Blackburn to book our place in the FA Cup 5th Round.

Arsenal were 3rd going into this one so we knew we'd be in for a tough game, however, the lads were up for the challenge and won by two goals to one after an excellent performance.

14th February

Gustavo Cipriano joins Gremio for a fee of 25m

19th February

Richarlison joins Beijing Guoan for 38.5m

Striker Troy Parrott signs a pre-contract for the summer He will join for a fee of 30m

We made it four wins out of four for the month with a dominant win over Sheffield United. The only negative from the game was conceding a consolation goal in stoppage time.

Up to 7th in the Premier Leauge now. I'm hoping we may be able to mount a cheeky push to for the Europa League places if we keep our form up.

Our incredible Premier League run continues. We are still yet to drop points in the Premier League since I took over. We won this one pretty comfortably, which is no mean feat as Selhurst Park is a difficult place to go and win.

As we were playing against a League One side, I decided to give a couple of the younger lads like Tomas a go for this game. They did not disappoint, easing to a 2-1 win to put us in the FA Cup Quarter Finals. The only disappointment of the game was seeing us concede the first goal but it didn't matter in the end.

7th March

Everton to play Chelsea or Man City at home in the FA Cup Quarter Final

So we drop points for the first time since I was appointed Everton manager. Did we deserve it? Yes. If I'm being honest, we were lucky not to drop all three points.

14th March

Today we welcome our new crop of youth players and unlike Warrington, we have some talent coming through! One, in particular, stands out with winger Johnny Roche looking like he's going to be one hell of a player.

This was more like the Everton I've grown accustomed to seeing. We absolutely dominated Leeds and could have scored a lot more than just the three goals that we got.

Not a birthday I want to remember in a while. I don't even know what to say. We threw everything at Chelsea but their goalkeeper decided he was superman. Frustrating.

We're still in 7th in the Premier League. The question is whether we can close the 7 point gap to Man City in order to get into the Europa League.

April 2025

An easy win in a game we dominated for the most part. Bournemouth never really looked like getting back into the game after we took the lead.

This was an absolutely cracking game which went back and forth repeatedly, with both sides missing chances. In the end, we turned it on in the last five minutes and scored twice to give us all three points.

9th April

Albert Sambi Lokonga out for 3-4 weeks with a twisted ankle

A top quality away performance this one, just when we needed it in order to put pressure on the sides above us in the table.

What a result! Somehow, someway, we managed to grind out a 1-0 win against the Premier League leaders. A superb effort.

Jesus, what a game! We rode our luck massively at times, there's no doubt about that. That being said, either team could have won it towards the end! I'm very happy with the point.

We're still not out of the race for a Europa League spot but we're relying massively on favours from other teams. On another note, how crazy is the title race!?

Next Month's Fixtures

You've certainly done everything within your power to push into the top six. I don't think it's possible, although you never know! Maxi Gomez and Alex Iwobi were on fire in April.

A comfortable win in a game we dominated for the most part. I had to give them a little word at half-time as we went in at 1-1 but the lads responded magnificently to take control of the game and take all three points.

We kept our Europa League hopes alive with a good win away at Wolves but we need West Ham to do us a favour on the final day of the season. I was disappointed when Wolves equalised but the response to score two in two minutes straight after was just incredible.

Unfortunately, West Ham couldn't do us the favour we needed so 7th it is. We ended the season with a dominant performance against Burnley, which was especially pleasing given that we had a few young lads out there.

19th May

Very happy with this news as it fits in perfectly with my 'use young players' strategy.

Manager of the Season

With Man City winning the league title back from Liverpool, I'm not surprised that this award has gone to Pep.

Player of the Season

Just look at those stats! There's is no one in the world of football who can question Silva winning this award. Those stats are phenomenal.

Club Awards

Fans' Player of the Season

Totally agree with this. Top scorer, joint-top assist maker, how could he not win this award?

Signing of the Season

He took a little time to get going but Maxi was fantastic at the latter stages of the season and deserves this award in my opinion.

Young Player of the Season

I really like the look of Jean-Luc. He can play at either right-back or right midfield and has played superbly since I arrived in January. I think he'll be around for some time.

The form since you joined the club has been formidable. It's an extremely encouraging sign as to what the future holds.

So glad Ben White's doing as well as he is and living up to his potential that I've seen this season at Leeds!
