An easy win in a match we dominated for the most part. I was particularly impressed with the performance of Alex Byrne who made 3 assists.

Another routine win for us. We scored two in the first-half and Witton never looked like getting back into the game.

A really good performance from the lads today and a well deserved victory. The game was all but over after 11 minutes and the lads never looked like letting them back in. We're looking more and more like champions with each game.

Saturday 18th January
Evo-Stik Premier League Matchday #24
South Kesteven Sports Stadium
Grantham Town 0 - N/A
Warrington Town 1 - Kellett (54)

A very strange game this one, two red cards (one for each team) and two very evenly matched teams. The difference between the sides was a beautiful free-kick from Andy Kellett.

Saturday 25th January
Evo-Stik Premier League Matchday #25

Warrington Town 4 - Corbett (42), Gray (46), Harris (63), Garrity (67)
Basford United 2 - Kellett (O.G 35), Hawley (68)

I felt like we were the better side in this game but there's definitely room for improvement. Defensively we weren't at our best and it was disappointing to concede twice, especially at home. End of the day though, we picked up the three points.

A perfect month means we extend our lead at the top of the table to 13 points! Surely we can't bottle it from this position, right?

Next Month's Fixtures

Three away games and to home games to play next month, however, we don't play any of our title challengers meaning it's an opportunity to continue to extend our lead at the top of the table and take one step closer to the National League North.

That's the beauty of writing updates in advance and storing them. It means I can post them regularly even if I'm not playing the game, though I've been smashing it recently. Absolutely hooked on this save
Flawless. That is all. :P

What database are you using? Warrington is my hometown so I wouldn't mind seeing what I can do with them

That one loss is starting to get more and more annoying as the season progresses

It's a custom one I did where I just activated the league, though I didn't sort out the cup competitions or playoffs

Hopefully, someone will release a proper version of the English lower leagues at some point

I was disappointed to only see us score one goal in this one but it was a nice easy three points.

Saturday 8th February
Evo-Stik Premier League Matchday #27

Unused Substitutes - McMillan, Blackshaw, Chadwick, Gray.
Man of the Match - T. Heardman (Warrington)

A fantastic performance and a deserved win at home against Lancaster. Tom Heardman up top was superb yet again, he's definitely one player I'll be wanting to keep for next season.

Saturday 8th February
Shaun Beeley ruled out for 6 weeks with a groin strain

Saturday 15th February
Evo-Stik Premier League Matchday #28
Cantilever Park
Warrington Town 1 - Garrity (23)
Matlock Town 0 - N/A
Line-Up - Spiess, Raven, Roberts, Corke, Kellett, Finnie, Garrity, Harris (Vassallo 75), Gray, Brown (Byrne 59), Heardman (Chadwick 90).
Unused Substitutes - McMillan, Blackshaw, Makreth, Duggan.
Man of the Match - M. Roberts (Warrington)
Match Stats - Click here for Match Stats

The score may have only been 1-0 but we never really looked like not winning the game. We took the lead in the first half and dominated throughout, Matlock hardly had a chance.

Saturday 22nd February
Evo-Stik Premier League Matchday #29
Broadhurst Park
FC United 1 - Linney (89)
Warrington Town 1 - Heardman (pen 49)
Line-Up - Spiess, Raven, Roberts, Corke, Kellett, Finnie (Duggan 84), Garrity, Harris, Gray (Mackreth 64), Byrne (Chadwick 89), Heardman.
Unused Substitutes - McMillan, Blackshaw, Brown, Dunn.
Man of the Match - R. Linney (FC United)

Really disappointing to concede late on. We deserved to win but we just switched off at the end. Regan Linney made a massive difference coming off the bench for FC United so fair play to him.

Saturday 29th February

Nantwich Town 2 - Jones (25), Lawrie (73)
Warrington Town 0 - N/A
Line-Up - Spiess, Raven, Roberts, Corke, Kellett, Finnie (Vassallo 80), Garrity (Mackreth 45), Harris, Gray (Chadwick 67), Brown, Heardman.

I think I may have to change our tactical set-up a little bit because that was ****. That's all I'm going to say about that.

17 points clear despite dropping points in our last two games. I'd like to think that noone will be able to catch us now,

Next Month's Fixtures

Only four games in March and I want to see a response after that poor showing last time out. I think we may be able to seal promotion and the title if we perform well next month.
Making tactical changes as you're not happy, yet seventeen points clear at the top of the league. I suppose it shows you're driven. ;)

March 2020

Saturday 7th March
Evo-Stik Premier League Matchday #31
Cantilever Park
Warrington Town 4 - Finnie (7), Jennings (38), Heardman (55), Brown (74)
Buxton 1 - McNall (52)
Line-Up - Spiess, Raven, Roberts, Corke, Kellett (Blackshaw 83), Finnie, Garrity, Jennings, Dunn (Mackreth 77), Vassallo (Brown 69), Heardman.
Unused Substitutes - McMillan, Byrne, Chadwick, Duggan.
Man of the Match - T. Heardman (Warrington)
Match Stats - Click here for Match Stats

A good win at home against Buxton to start the month. Tom Heardman was once again in inspired form with Ross Finnie also putting in a good performance in defensive midfield. We are still not as defensively solid as I'd like though.

Saturday 14th March
Evo-Stik Premier League Matchday #32
Bower Fold
Stalybridge Celtic 0 - N/A
Warrington Town 1 - Kellett 9
Line-Up - Spiess, Raven, Roberts, Corke, Kellett, Finnie, Harris (Duggan 51), Warren, Gray (Mackreth 65), Brown (Chadwick 84), Heardman.
Unused Substitutes - McMillan, Blackshaw, Byrne, Vassallo.
Man of the Match - A. Kellett (Warrington)
Match Stats - Click here for Match Stats

Another win but it wasn't the most pleasing performance. Once again we were defensively fragile and a better opposition would have scored two or three. Plenty of work to be done on the training ground I think. On a positive note, it was great to see youngster Tom Warren do well.

Saturday 21st March
Game against Gainsborough Trinity postponed due to a waterlogged pitch

Saturday 28th March
Evo-Stik Premier League Matchday #33
Stainton Park
Radcliffe 0 - N/A
Warrington Town 2 - Harris (42), Roberts (88)
Line-Up - Spiess, Raven (Duggan 56), Roberts, Corke, Kellett (Blackshaw 88), Byrne, Harris, Warren (Finnie 62), Brown, Heardman, Gray.
Unused Substitutes - McMillan, Chadwick, Mackreth, Dunn.
Man of the Match - C. Harris (Warrington)
Match Stats - Click here for Match Stats

I decided to go with a 442 for the game away at Radcliffe and it worked nicely, with us picking up a good 2-0 win after a much better performance. Despite the result, I still want to work on our other shape but the 442 is definitely something I can call upon now.

Monday 30th March
Monday morning saw the first youth intake of my time at Warrington. From what my coaching staff are saying, we have two players that could potentially play at this level in the future in Josh Vince and Bob Clarke.

Tuesday 31st March
Evo-Stik Premier League Matchday #34
Cantilever Park
Warrington Town 3 - Gray (8), Harris (23), Heardman (84)
Gainsborough Trinity 0 - N/A
Line-Up - Spiess, Duggan, Roberts, Corbett, Kellett (Blackshaw 65), Finnie, Garrity, Harris, Gray (Mackreth 90+2), Brown (Chadwick 81), Heardman.
Unused Substitutes - McMillan, Barnes, Vassallo, Dunn.
Man of the Match - T. Heardman (Warrington)
Match Stats - Click here for Match Stats

As I said after the Radcliffe game, I decided to tinker with our usual system. It was better going forward but the defensive problems remain which could give us problems next season in the National League North. That said, I'm happy with the 3-0 win.

Jesus Christ we made hard work of that one! For 70 minutes it looked like we weren't going to get anything from the game, that was until James Gray inspired a comeback with two quickfire goals to give us all three points.

As we've already won the title, I decided to experiment with going a little bit more attacking in this one and I think it's definitely we can look into. We were the better side and the scoreline flattered Morpeth to be perfectly honest.

What a game! Goals in the first and last minute with one of them being the winner. There's a good job that there was nothing riding on this game, otherwise, I'd have been a nervous wreck!
