Astonishing season. Congratulations!

Looking forward to seeing you challenged hopefully

Well that was rather easy wasn't it. Hopefully next season poses some sort of challenge or you could just storm straight to winning the Champions League, guess that would also work :D

To be honest, I envisage it being quite an easy ride in non-league. If/when we get to League Two, that's when our budget will become an issue for sure

Fans' Player of the Season

An absolute landslide and rightfully so. Tom has come into the club and made a massive difference, winning the Golden Boot in the league and helping us to the top of the table.

Signing of the Season

See above really. It's hard to believe that we managed to get him on a free transfer. Keeping hold of him is my no 1 priority this summer.

Young Player of the Season

A clean sweep for Tom. Well deserved.
Heardman has been a revelation this season. Very surprised to see Bradley Fewster at that level... seems to have toured the North-East!

Tom Heardman leaving absolutely no doubt there

A clean sweep for Tom in the club awards as well as pretty much a clean sweep in the league awards as a club, great work all round.

Retained List

The next order of business for me before going on holiday was to decide who I was going to release and who I was going to offer a new deal to. I've broken this down by positions.

Goalkeepers

Release

Tony McMillian
Jamie Speare

Retain

Fabian Speiss

Defenders

Release

Mark Roberts
David Raven
Shaun Beeley
Louis Barnes

Retain

Jordan Corke
Lewis Blackshaw
Andy Kellett
Mitch Duggan
Zac Corbett

Midfielders

Release

Steve Jennings
Dylan Vassallo
Alex Byrne

Retain

Tom Warren
Ross Finnie
Callum Harris
Ben Garrity
Jack Mackreth
Ronaldo Brown

Strikers

Release

Jack Dunn
Matt Chadwick

Retain

Tom Heardman
James Gray

In terms of this list, everything has gone to plan bar one player who is playing hard ball when it comes to renewing his contract. That man is....Tom Heardman. The rest have all signed new deals but Tom won't budge.

What that means is that our squad currently looks like this:

Goalkeepers

Fabian Speiss

Defenders

Jordan Corke
Lewis Blackshaw
Andy Kellett
Mitch Duggan
Zac Corbett

Midfielders

Tom Warren
Ross Finnie
Callum Harris
Ben Garrity
Jack Mackreth
Ronaldo Brown

Strikers

James Gray
Getting Heardman to sign on the dotted line is integral given how significant his impact was in the season just gone. Very pleased to see you managed to retain the services of Andy Kellett too; he should be playing at a much higher level.

You've got that right. Flat out refusing to negotiate with us.

The Warrington Way

Pre-season 2020

1st July

We start with the awful news that Tom Heardman has left the club. He just wouldn't renew his contract. That leaves the squad looking quite thin but I plan to look to younger players to fill out the squad.

Striker Cameron Archer joins on a free transfer

Friendly - Warrington 2-0 Coventry U23's

9th July

It's a busy day for us with a number of new signings coming in, all on free transfers

Winger Adam Wilson
Right-back Josh Hosie
Winger Seb Quirk
Striker Fidel O'Rourke
Centre-back Max Taylor

11th July

Friendly - Brickfield 0-8 Warrington

14th July

Goalkeeper Bayleigh Passant signs on a free transfer
