A superb result away at Colchester. To come back from 2-0 down then 3-2 down is a testament to the work ethic of the lads. We never give up and this result showed why.

Another fantastic result away from home, though we were helped out massively by Southend going down to ten men.

Cambridge came to Hilton Park and went away with a thrashing. A quality performance from the lads and it was great to see us taking our chances for a change.

Another well-deserved win. Our performances have really surprised me this season and long may they continue!

Another away game where we really benefitted from the opposition going down to ten men. To be honest, it's kind of nice to see other teams struggling with their discipline rather than us.

What a start to the season! Never in my wildest dreams did I think we'd be top. I don't think we'll stay there but I'm enjoying it whilst it lasts.

Next Month's Fixtures

Fantastically flawless. The goals are flowing and the defence has been relatively tight thus far. Encouraging.
That Colchester result must have been a thriller! Still marching on with your head held high.

We start the month with another win at home against Wrexham. It was a dominant performance and we deserved to win, however, I was a bit disappointed to concede.

HFHFHFHDSH WHAT THE HELL JUST HAPPENED? It's only the Checkatrade Trophy but what a bloody result. We just DO NOT GIVE UP. 4-1 down with six minutes to go and we somehow managed to draw 4-4 before winning on penalties.

Tuesday 4th October

That result means we are into the next round in the Checkatrade Trophy.

Jordan Walker ruled out for 6-7 weeks with sprained knee ligaments

We were looking odds on for another win in the first half, going 1-0 up. However, the red card for Theo Vassell changed the game. In the end, we were lucky to escape with a point.

Monday 10th October

Luke Hume ruled out for 6-8 weeks with a sports hernia

Disappointed that we've lost this, to be honest. We had enough chances to get something from the game, including hitting the post in stoppage time but it just wasn't to be.

Monday 17th October

Warrington to play Crewe at home in the FA Cup 1st Round

So a rehearsal for the FA Cup 1st Round tie. It was a drab affair which was lit up, fortunately for us, by a James Morton rocket into the top corner from around 30 yards.

Thursday 20th October

Jake Scrimshaw ruled out for 3 weeks with pulled ankle ligaments

Such was our dominance in this game, I didn't feel the need to make any changes. So much for my pre-season relegation battle prediction, we've been superb so far this season.

Wednesday 26th October

Wigan offered me a job interview. I decided to attend anyway but I doubt I'd take the job. I either want to manage Tranmere or in the Premier League.

Saturday 29th October

You couldn't write it (even though I did just above). I get two more job interview offers with one of them being from Tranmere.

A third win in a row without conceding, which is great to see. We dominated the game and were good value for the win.

We finish October with a six-point lead at the top of League Two. I still can't quite believe what this squad is achieving.

Looking good and congrats on the Sotm nomination

Absolutely flying in L2, now - the engines are roaring! Nice to see Stevens on the scoresheet as I rate him highly at Leeds irl

Cheers guys. I didn't even know about the nomination!

Thursday 3rd November

No thanks FC Franchise, a club I absolutely loathe.

Tranmere decide against offering me the manager's job....the Warrington journey continues!

Safely through into the second round of the FA Cup. We never really looked like losing, especially when Crewe went down to ten men.

Monday 7th November

Warrington draw Cheltenham at home in the FA Cup 2nd Round.

Five straight wins and five straight clean sheets, despite Djed Spence seeing red against Leicester U23's. TO be fair, I did play our full-strength side as I wanted the prize money for the win.

Wednesday 9th November

Warrington draw Bradford at home in the Checkatrade Trophy 2nd round.

A game where we didn't take our chances and when you don't take your chances, you get punished. Very disappointing.

A great way to bounce back after that loss against Walsall. We deserved to win at Stevenage, despite their late goal to bring it back to 2-1.

The FA Cup curse continues. We still haven't reached the 3rd round. This really was a disappointing performance and the players really need to have a long look at themselves after that one.

Not good enough, especially defensively. Is this the start of the blip I've been expecting all season? Hopefully, it's not but we really do need to improve.

Saturday 3rd December

Iestyn Hughes ruled out for 6-7 weeks with strained knee ligaments

Much more like it but I'm taking it with a pinch of salt as it's the Checkatrade Trophy. It's great to be in the next round though as it means more prize money.

Wednesday 7th December

Warrington will play either Sunderland or Doncaster in the Checkatrade Trophy 3rd Round

Back to winning ways with a good win against Forest Green. Their goal towards the end made it a bit twitchy but we managed to hold on well in the end.

We were out for revenge here after Cheltenham dumped us out of the cup. What we got was that and then some, smashing them by five goals to nil at Hilton Park. That felt good!

A really good win away to a side chasing a playoff place, though it was more to do with Wrexham not being able to finish their chances which is a problem I know only too well.

A ten-point lead at the top of League Two going into new year. What a season it has been so far, what a journey it has been so far. It's incredible to think how far we've come.

Nice job turning down Franchise FC ;) Not that you even need to go anywhere else at the rate that you're flying up the leagues here!

A very disappointing start to the new year as we fall to defeat at Crewe. We can't win them all but every defeat is always a disappointment.

How do you respond to a poor loss? By going to the backyard of a playoff-chasing side and smashing them! Happy days indeed.

Tuesday 10th January

Midfielder Connor O'Malley joins on loan from Middlesbrough

The game at home against Northampton is postponed due to a waterlogged pitch

Wednesday 11th January

Full-back Connor Wood joins on loan from Wycombe

Warrington or Sunderland will play either Scunthorpe or Wolves U23's in the Checkatrade Trophy Northern Quarter Final

Bottom vs top and the result went as expected, we dominated the game and eased to all three points.

I'll admit that we were lucky here but do I care? No. Any win against a Sunderland side who are 2nd in the Championship is a good one. It was also interesting going up against my former skipper at Liverpool (2008-2013) and good friend Steven Gerrard, who is now Sunderland manager.

Friday 20th January

Joe Fryer joins Spennymoor on loan

Not much to say about this one really, a routine home win and another three points.

Saturday 21st January

Jacob Edwards ruled out for three weeks with pulled knee ligaments

Tuesday 24th January

The home game against Burton is postponed due to a waterlogged pitch. It's starting to get a bit frustrating now.

A 4th league win in a row and a 4th clean sheet, including three away games. The lads are doing absolutely incredible work and I can't praise them enough.

I really don't get this. How can we have such a good run of results and then turn out a performance like this one? It's baffling, it really is and it's not the first time it's happened.

Two losses in the month mean our lead drops from ten to six points but we're still overachieving massively this season so I can't complain.

A very good hard-fought win against Swindon, who pushed us all the way.

I was disappointed by this result. Defensively we were poor and it was no surprise when Port Vale equalised.

A fantastic win at home against Oldham, which we thoroughly deserved. I have to praise Jordan Stevens, who was superb on the right side of midfield.

Very pleased to win this one away from home, meaning we are now only one more win away from a trip to Wembley.

Wednesday 15th February

Warrington to play Man United U23's in the Checkatrade Trophy North Quarter Final

It's always pleasing to win away from home, but to win by such a good margin is particularly pleasing.

This was a 1st vs 3rd clash going into the game so it was a game I just didn't want to lose. Thankfully, we didn't however it was 1 point rather than all 3.

Another disappointing draw at home, this time against Exeter. The worrying thing is the number of chances we are giving up and it's something I need to sort out.

We are back to ten points clear which is incredible. I never would have believed it possible at the start of the season.

Next Month's Fixtures

An excellent lead at the top of the division and promotion looks all but assured, should you avoid any silly run of results. Good work in the Mickey Mouse cup, too.

Although, are you playing on a duck pond? Games are called off every other week! :P

We're off to Wembley! Our dream season continues as we beat Man United U23's to qualify for a Checkatrade Trophy Final meeting with Arsenal U23's. The match itself was a nervy one with the two teams throwing everything at each other. Thankfully, we were able to get the win on penalties.

Newport were much the better side in this one so I'm more than happy to escape with a point. It's all about grounding out some form of result, even when you don't deserve it.

This was a much better performance than the Newport game, with us gaining revenge for our 3-2 home defeat against Walsall earlier in the season. I don't think anyone can say that we didn't deserve the win based on the stats.

Another great win in a game that we dominated. Stevenage never really got going and we eased to the win, despite taking 77 minutes to score our second goal.

Two goals from Jake Scrimshaw gave us another good result away from home. Our form away from home has been extremely impressive this season.

We started like a house on fire, Luke Wood giving us the lead inside the first minute. We didn't look back and looked on course for an easy win going into the last 20 minutes. However, for some reason, we lost our way and were quite lucky to come away with the win in the end.

Tuesday 28th March

Another seriously poor youth intake. Now we are in the black financially, I'll be looking at asking the board to upgrade our youth system in the coming years.
