Mads Pedersen

• Bought for €4.8M from SM Caen.
• Left Back; 25 years old from Denmark.
• Last season he played in 19 matches with an average rating of 6.71 in Ligue 1.
• Adding 2 left backs was an absolute, he has a lot of potential to grow. He is a decent player.

Blaise Matuidi

• Brought in on a free from Juventus.
• Central Midfielder; 35 years old from France.
• He struggled last year, appearing in just 11 matches with an average match rating of 6.65 in Serie A.
• Over a decade ago Matuidi made a name for himself at ASSE, he still has enough quality to be our best player. Elsner names him Captain shortly after his arrival.

Pascal Stenzel

• Bought for €2.3M from FC Koln.
• Right Back; 26 years old from Germany.
• He appeared in 29 matches last season with an average rating of 6.82 in the Bundesliga.
• A good value, he can play DM and MC as well. Simply just a nice overall player.

Kingsley Madu

• Bought for €64K from RC Lens.
• Left Back; 26 years old from Nigeria.
• He missed most of last season with a hip injury.
• Madu will give us decent cover for Pedersen at left back.

Moussa Sylla

• On loan from AS Monaco with optional future fee of €12.6M.
• Striker; 22 years old from France.
• Last season he was on loan at Dijon FC and scored 10 goals while registering 5 assists in Ligue 1.
• He instantly makes us better in attack, which we needed greatly. I am hoping to be in position to take advantage of that reasonable future fee.

Jonathan Panzo

• On loan from AS Monaco with optional future fee of €8.6M.
• Central Defender; 21 years old from England.
• He was on loan at Dijon FC last season and appeared in 33 matches with an average rating of 6.72 in Ligue 1.
• He gives us a more than capable left footed ball playing defender.

Billy Arce

• Brought in on a free from Brighton.
• Attacking Midfielder; 24 years old from Ecuador.
• He played on loan in Ecuador the last 2 seasons, scoring 22 goals and registering 16 assists in the process.
• Arce is definitely a project but he has nice potential if we can pull it out of him.

Moussa Diaby

• On loan from PSG.
• Attacking Midfielder; 23 years old from France.
• He appeared in 22 matches last season for Wolfsburg in the Bundesliga.
• Diaby was mostly unproductive last season but two years ago at SV Werder he was outstanding. He will be a great addition to play opposite from Grandsir.

Jorge

• Bought from Tenerife for €3.5M.
• Central Defender; 25 years old from Spain.
• He has been an anchor the past four seasons for Tenerife's defense in the La Liga 2.
• A young but experienced defender that has nice potential. He can use both feet well and is capable of playing a ball playing defender role.

• Sold for €2M to Angers SCO.
• He appeared in 23 matches last season but was largely ineffective.
• A good move for both parties as our youth movement begins.

• Sold for €2.4M to Getafe.
• He scored 9 goals in 33 matches last season.
• Osako is still a decent player but we need a quicker option in attack and he just does not fit in with Elsner's tactically.

• Sold for €600K to Chievo.
• He appeared in 17 matches last season.
• A quick short center back,

• Sold for €2.3M to Cagliari.
• He appeared in just 34 matches the last two seasons.
• In a major cost cutting move we send M'Villa packing, he could have added something but Matuidi gives us an upgrade.

• Sold for €3.9M to Austria Vienna.
• He appeared in 35 matches last season scoring 4 goals and registering 5 assists.
• A nice player but he was expensive and not really part of our plans going forward.

August 2022

• We controlled the match against Troyes with goals from Boetius (assisted by Sylla) and Sylla.
• Another dominate performance despite the scoreline as we beat Montpelier behind goals from Sylla (assisted by Cabella) and Cabella (assisted by Diaby). Bad news, Grandsir left the match with a sprained ankle.
• We dispatched FC Lorient rather easily behind goals from Boetius and Arce (assisted by Olsson).
• We looked headed for a draw near the break but a late first half goal from Bordeaux left us chasing the rest of the match and they hit us on the counter attack twice before we finally scored.

Remy Cabella

Cabella played really well in his two appearances this month with a match rating of 7,85. He scored a goal and assisted, he also had a key pass in the Bordeaux match that lead to our only goal.

Some usual suspects at the top. We could not have asked for a better start, despite the Bordeaux result.
