Liverpool almost fall to QPR as Rangers continue form

Queens Park Rangers almost completed an upset win over Liverpool today, only to be foiled by Reds fan favorite Carlos Fierro.

Liverpool never got going and Queens Park Rangers, this season's surprise package, was dominant the whole match. The Rangers, who finished a humble 15th last season, are currently 2nd in the Premier League under new manager Steve McClaren, ahead of teams like Chelsea, Manchester United, and Manchester City.

Sebastian Coates spear-headed the defense and was unlucky as he attempted to clear a shot on goal, but ended up putting the ball into his own net and scoring an own-goal on 87 minutes.

Just as the QPR boys were about to celebrate, Steven Gerrard's free kick found Carlos Fierro, and the Mexican fired a shot that no keeper could save into the bottom of the net. Although it looked somewhat like an off-side goal, the goal was given and Liverpool walked away with at least a point.
Liverpool will play Arsenal in the League Cup Semi Final.
We win Stoke 2-0 as Mario Balotelli makes his 30th appearance for Liverpool - and due to a clause in his contract, now has a salary of 100k per week.

Felipe Anderson has suffered an injury in the Stoke match and the Brazilian midfielder will be out for 2 to 3 months.
Rio Ferdinand has been sacked by the Derby board.

Liverpool will play against Portuguese club Sporting in the first knockout round of the Champions' League.
Brilliant, brilliant!
- I was going to ask you when you are leaving Liverpool, but since you are doing so well, why even consider it? Keep going, and I'll keep reading.

A virtual cookie for you, good lad.

I might leave Liverpool once I get two more Premier League titles and win the Champions' League, to either seek further success abroad or further Premier League glory with another team in England. Probably the former, but you never know.

It's too early to talk about leaving yet though. ;)
I would let him leave, but I really want him to retire at the club. Guess I'll just have to put up with him for another two years or so.
Suso has signed a new four-year contract with the club, while Steven Gerrard has signed a new two-year contract. Both players' contracts would have expired at the end of the season.

The other players whose contract expires at the end of the season and have not been given contract renewals - are Seydou Keita and Charlie Adam.
World Golden Ball

World Player of the Year

World Team of the Year

December
Mbaye Niang has come in 2nd for French Player of the Year - the award was won by Man City's Samir Nasri.

Luis Suarez is 3rd in the December Player of the Month, while Roger Doux has won the December Young Player of the Month. I have come in 2nd for December Manager of the Month.

An okay month I guess.

Premier League table

It is already January and Liverpool have already announced four new signings - all youth players of course.

Miguel Manuel Rodriguez

Johan Put

Carlinhos

Danny Grundei

M.M.Rodriguez comes Sevilla Atletico for 7.25 million, Johan Put from Genk for 1 million, Carlinhos from Atletico Mineiro for 1.6 million, and lastly Danny Grundei from FC Porto for 6 million.
Mbaye Niang has signed an improved contract. The French wonderkid is Liverpool's top scorer so far this season with 18 goals in 21 appearances.
Loving the story so far...Niang really becomes a beast. Securing talented youngsters for the future is definitely the way to go.

Keep up the good work

Thanks for the comments!

Yes, I personally agree with the youngster transfer policy. Not that I like to see it in real life, though! Hint hint, Arsene Wenger. Hahaha.

I feel I have way too many youngsters at the moment though.
Mbaye Niang gets himself injured the match right after he signs his new improved contract, and will be out for between 7 weeks to 2 months.

I draw 1-1 with Swansea - and Swans manager Philip Sly has said that we weren't going to win the title with this kind of play.

I certainly pulled no punches as I responded to his comments through the media - claiming Sly was lazy and other negative comments.
Philip Pritchard has gone to Cheltenham in League Two on loan for the rest of the season, while Oliver Vincent has gone to Norwich in the Championship on loan as well.
