Matthaus: "We Can Do It"

Manchester United boss Lothar Matthaus has restored belief into United fans by claiming "United can win the title", despite not even being in the top 4. Matthaus is undefeated since he joined United, and his risen in the table since the end of November.

Speaking in a supporter's club meeting at the end of January, Matthaus said "if you look at how we're doing for points now, compared to when I joined, I see no reason why we can't win the title this season. We were in 8th or 9th when I joined, but in the last two months, we've won all but two of our games, and now we've risen to 5th. The few places above us are congested tightly, and we'll need luck to catch up to City, but I can't see why, if we carry on with this form, a reason we can't win the title come May."

Matthaus' side lie 5th in the Barclays Premier League table going into February, but are just two points behind reigning champions Arsenal, who lie in second. Leaders City, however, are 13 points clear of United, which is a massive gap to close down for United and the other sides.

I love this story :) It's the only one were I'm happy when I see I'm not sad to see City lose 4-0 at Old Trafford.
