Tenerife Sign Gallas

CD Tenerife have confirmed that they have signed former France international William Gallas on a free transfer. The defender joins the newly-promoted side on a one-year deal.

Gallas has also played for Chelsea, Tottenham, and Arsenal, the big three in London, in his long career. He caused friction in North London when he transferred from Arsenal to their rivals Spurs on a free transfer. Before that he'd played for Chelsea, London's other big club. He started his career in France, with SM Caen, before he signed for French giants Marseille in 1997. Then came his move to England, where he stayed until this summer, when his contract with Tottenham expired.

He is said to be excited about the challenge in front of him in Tenerife, who not too longer were in the Liga BBVA facing sides like Barcelona and Real Madrid. They went down to the third division with two relegations in as many years. Since Real Madrid legend Raul has come in, however, it has been good times all the way for the team from the Canary Islands. They won promotion last season, into the Liga Adelante, attracting players to the calibre of David Beckham and William Gallas to the Estadio Heliodoro Rodríguez López. Gallas has also said that the prospect of working with a legend like Raul will be the pinnacle of his career, and he hopes to be given a coaching role when he finishes his career.

Gallas will be on £2.5k per week, which is the same as Tenerife's other big name signing, David Beckham. These two signings have singlehandedly boosted the club's financial situation, with shirt sales shooting through the roof.

Thanks Blue, I appreciate it! I loved every part of it. I'll try to make one for you or anytime you need it!
Gallas will be a great signing for you Pauker with the experience he can bring to the team. With him not being on very high wages too it is an even bigger boost. Signing David Beckham...unbelievable!

Roque Santa Cruz looking to impress in his Tenerife trial

CD Tenerife have confirmed that they have taken Paraguay international on a four week trial. The striker will join the newly-promoted side for at least a month, according to Gonzalez.

Santa Cruz has also played for Bayern Munchen, Blackburn, Betis and most notably, Manchester City in his long career. He caused shock in England when he transferred from Blackburn Rovers to the oligarch Manchester City on a deal reported to have an initial 25 million and an extra 5, depending on how many goals he scored. Before that he'd played for Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich. He started his career in Paraguay, with Olimpia, before he signed for German giants Bayern Munich back in 1999. Then came his move to England, where he stayed until this summer, when his contract with Manchester City expired.

He is said to be excited about the challenge in front of him in Tenerife, and believes that he can secure a permanent contract with Tenerife. Since Real Madrid legend Raul has come in, however, it has been good times all the way for the team from the Canary Islands. They won promotion last season, into the Liga Adelante, attracting players to the calibre of David Beckham and William Gallas to the Estadio Heliodoro Rodríguez López, and now Roque Santa Cruz. Roque, who has played two times in the Liga BBVA for Betis and Malaga respectively. The experienced striker is happy to help the youngsters during his short or long stay, with Nano currently learning from three great players (Yeste, Beckham and shortly Santa Cruz).
