Neville's Point of view

18,00 - 2 hours after 2-2 draw with Chester

Dear Diary,

What a joke! Once again we couldn't hold a lead, it's so frustrating. I have been used to success throughout my career with Manchester United and England, even my short managerial career has gone well so this is a strange feeling. The worst thing is that I have been changing the tactics a lot this month and I don't even know which one I prefer. All This hard work getting Carshalton to where we are and if we continue to slip we will be in trouble.

I could see the lads heads drop after the game against Chester, they needed a win. Even against Bath, a team we had challenged all last season we looked second best. Ok, the media think we might barely survive but that's not good enough, I want promotion! The talent at the club currently is not to the standard required and it looks like I will have to make big changes in the summer if the board back me.

I have been told to encourage my players but I'm not going to be fake. All them years at United thought me that the only way to lift your players was to take out the hairdryer. Now I'm not saying I'm any Sir Alex but our defence seemed pretty shocked after the game against Chester when I laid into them. That's the approach I shall take from now on, My way or the highway. This month has been a shocker and I don't want any more like it. Next time I write in this notepad I will be doing so when we are closer to the play-offs.

Over and out
Gary Neville
Unlucky to draw but hopefully you can reach the play-offs :)
i am sure that u gonna reach the play-offs.. you are the best ;)
Tough draw mate but I can see you getting to the playoffs!
The playoffs are in sight, GO GO GO!
Justice - Thanks for the comment! Hopefully I can make the playoffs but I dont think so!
Zogra - Thanks buddy! Keep following and see where we will get to!
k1rups - Do you think? It seems a step to far this season! But you never know
Devil - Its gonna be tough!

Another Tough Month

Gary Neville was seen scratching his head after the last game of what proved another difficult month for The Robins. The relegation candidates have been slipping down the table in recent weeks and look like they might not extend their stay in the Blue Square Premier. Injuries have been piling up and It will take great character to turn the results, and keep Carshalton in the league.

League Table

Carshalton are 16th, 3 points from relegation
You can do it! Some tough results but as long as you stay at least a few points clear, relegation is in your own hands!
Hmm a tough run of results mate maybe safety the priority now? Build on that next year

Fans Split On Neville

There was crazy scenes inside the War Memorial Ground after The Robins finished the month with a 1-0 defeat to Braintree. The clock stood at 93 minutes when a number of Carshalton fans broke onto the pitch and vented their frustration at manager Gary Neville. Carshalton have been on a poor run recently picking up just 1 win in their last 10 games.

After guiding his team to two successive promotions, Neville has been criticised by some of his own fans for not adapting to the Blue Square Premier League. The Team left the field to a stadium of Boo's which shows that all is not happy with the Fans. We took to the street to ask some Carshalton fans on their view.

Fan 1 : I'm sorry but nobody is bigger than the club. I have been following The Robins for the past 45 years and the last 2 were our most successful. We need to build on it, and personally I dont think Gary will keep us in the league. We need a change.

Fan 2 : I honestly am shocked that people are calling for his head, we were nowhere before him. The squad hasn't been preforming of late but sacking him? Is that really the answer. I have Faith in him to turn it around.

Fan 3 : I respect everything He has done for the club but results haven't been good enough. It's a tough one. I'm split 50/50.

Club Statement

The club is fully behind manager Gary Neville and reports of a possible sacking have structure to it. Gary Neville has been a fantastic servant to the club in his short time and we hope to have many more successful years under his reign. Gary is a fine professional to work with and puts a lot of time and effort into improving the team and bringing them to the next level. The clubs aim for the year has been made clear to the manager and we will review our season at the end of the campaign and we will hold a meeting with him. Until then the club feels no more need to comment on his current situation

Nothing I seem to try is coming off. Another demoralising month which seen the club not pick up even one win. The amazing thing is that we are actually competing with other teams, we are rarely rolled over it just seems that we crack under pressure. The start of the month was promising with a draw against league leaders Forest Green and I seriously thought we would then push on. From then on it went downhill and to add salt to out wounds we were defeated by Telford who were previously bottom but we now take their place. It will be very difficult to save the club this season but I will stick by the club through thick and thin. The only way I am leaving is if I am sacked.

League Table

Carshalton are bottom, 3 points from safety
Terrible month, hopefully after January things will change.
