Great updates! Never seen a match update done with the Youth Candidates nice tough there Kane. Tough CL draw but I can see you knocking out Real as well and making Ronaldo cry :p
Wow. This story continues to amaze, great updates and I especially loved the youth candidates update. Keep it up and good luck against Real Madrid.
neal09: If he does I may cry
k1rups: I thought I might as well go for it, so glad you like it. They have a lot of potential so wanted to include it as early on as possible. I'd love to knock them out and make him cry now..

William Smolka: The Next Ryan Giggs
Ryan Giggs has become a Manchester United legend, and always will be. 23 seasons and counting, Ryan Giggs really is a player the club will never forget. However, they could have a player able to replace Giggsy.. Welsh, a midfielder, and signing at a young age, William Smolka could be the next Ryan Giggs.
William Smolka played as part of the youth candidates side, and stole the show with his hat-trick, even when playing in midfield. This performance led to Smolka being given his first contract with the Red Devils, and aged just 16, could be developed into one of the world's greatest, taking the shoes of Ryan Giggs, who will have to retire within the next few years.
Ryan Giggs is still an outstanding player in 2013, but a few attributes stick out that little bit more. His dribbling, technique, determination and natural fitness has been seen by many as his key skills on the pitch, and youngster William Smolka has been shown to have signs to be excellent with all those attributes. However, one skill may prove Smolka to have the potential to be better than Ryan Giggs - his passing.
Even aged 16, Smolka has been recognised by all staff, and other players at Manchester United for his excellent passing, especially compared to other players his age. Manchester United have become known for their excellent youth facilities and coaching, meaning it could be the perfect team for Smolka to develop.
William Smolka is valued at £230,000, and is currently on a youth contract, in which he recieves £55 p/week. However, with Smolka turning 17 mid-way through the next season, many will want the Welshman to be given a professional contract as soon as possible, possibly featuring for the first team before the season is over, given fans around the world a glimpse of the talent they have, and whether he could replace Ryan Giggs in years to come?
Manchester United fans all around the world feel a player like Ryan Giggs can never be made again, especially in England, but William Smolka is possibly their best chance. David Moyes has stated he is ecstatic at the signing of Smolka, and may use him very soon, with the possibility of the Welsh wizard Ryan Giggs retiring at the end of the season.
William Smolka, the next Ryan Giggs?
New Contracts For Johnstone and Barmby
Sam Johnstone has today put pen to paper on a 3 year contract. Johnstone has came through as a youth player, but has spent this year on loan to Leyton Orient, in the nPower League One. He only played 6 times in goal, also conceding 6, but keeping two clean sheet. After Sam described how he felt the loan was unsuccessful, he said about his love for the club, and how he wants to stay.
The goalkeeper, currently in the Manchester United reserves is valued at £375k, after will receive £1,500 p/week, three times his previous earnings. Will rumours of Antonio Adan leaving Manchester, some fans feel Johnstone could be given the chance in the first team, even if as backup to both De Gea and Lindegaard. At the age of 20, Johnstone needs to make a breakthrough somewhere to be successful, lined up for a possible debut for the England U21 side.
Youngster Jack Barmby also turned professional, signing his first contract besides the youth contract in which he receives little pay and can be bought by any team for a small amount of compensation. However, David Moyes has seen the potential in him, and wanted to make sure the 18-year-old would stay and possibly play in the first team in a few years. Barmby made his first impact on the Reserve side in 2011, and has stayed there since, trying to lead them to glory.
Barmby is currently valued at only £75k, but staff feel training can improve that and bring out all of his potential. Jack is known around the club for his flair, dribbling and pace, meaning he has the perfect stats to be an attacking midfielder, where he recently changed to. Jack signed a deal until the summer of 2016, in which he will receive £475 p/week. David Moyes will also be given Jack Barmby a squad number for next season.
With the singing of contracts, and the given of shirt numbers, could we see both Barmby and Johnstone walking on to the pitch alongside the likes of Rooney, Giggs and Vidic?
Interesting offering Johnstone a contract. I've never offered him a new contract :p Barmby is an interesting one again never had him develop well enough for me but I never gave him much attention :p
Glenn T: Thanks, I love the name too. Wanna give him a nickname like 'Smolka Bacon' or something like that soon.
Okikos: Yeah, Barmby is supposed to be on top form at the moment IRL, I hope he's the same for me!
k1rups: I didn't want to initially, but I have a plan with him which will be unveiled soon. Also, I think if I loan him out to the right clubs Barmby could be alright, or I want to at least raise his value a bit to sell him.

GOALS - Hernandez(58)
MOTM - Sami Khedira
Oh my holy cheeseballs! What a win, while resting a lot of big players. A considerably weaker defence had to be played, with fitness a massive issue. I thought they would manage to get 3 or 4 past us, so getting the win, and a clean sheet is fantastic! I can't wait for the second leg, where if we get an away goal, we will be in a great position!

Not one of our greatest games, but Shinji saved us with a goal in Fergie time! The first this season, and what a time in the season to get it. The extra two points will be vital, leading to United fans stayed after the whistle signing "Shinji Kagawa, Shinji Kagawa, All We Need Is Shinji Kagawa" However, it is Rio who claimed the Man of the Match, stopping two vital goals from off the line both in the second half.

MOTM - Nemanja Vidic
We did it! Wayne Rooney scored an absolute screamer of a free kick from 35 yards out to give us the away goal and a pass to the semi-final. We managed to get the goal so early on we had to play the whole game in a very defensive manner, but we managed to keep a clean sheet again Real Madrid, again! I can't wait for the draw for the Semi-final, it should be a good one.
Manchester United 3-1 Peterborough United
Saturday 13th April 2013 - FA Cup Semi Final - Wembley Stadium - Att. 90,000

GOALS - Hernandez (12, 59, 74)
MOTM - Javier Hernandez
Playing a weaker side was certainly a risk. Peterborough are obviously good and beating the higher teams to reach the semi final, but it certainly played off. Javier Hernandez stole the show with his hat-trick to send us to the final, and alot of youngsters managed to play. Newly signed William Smolka and Van Antoine both started, as well as Ashley Fletcher all making debuts.
Queens Park Rangers 0-1 Manchester United
Wednesday 17th April 2013 - Barclays Premier League - Loftus Road - Att. 17,724

SUBS - Pereira, Fletcher
GOALS - Antoine (20)
MOTM - Nemanja Vidic
Antoine!! The 15 year old, who's tipped as a world beater, has scored already in the Premier League! Another three points, even sweeter with Antoine scoring the goal. Looking forward to seeing Antoine in the future. Nemanja Vidic had yet another brilliant game, collecting the man of the match award again.
League Table
6 points at the title is ours. We have 5 games to play, and 2 wins will guarantee the title, and that's if City win every game, including one against us. It's almost ours!!!! The fight for relegation is close too this year, will definitely be one to watch.
Player of the Month
David De Gea. David De Gea has had a solid start to the month. Conceding just one goal in 5 games is pretty good, especially when you've played Real Madrid twice. His clean sheets against Madrid alone would be good enough for De Gea to be Player of the Month. The goal against Peterborough came in the dying minutes when I pushed everyone up, so I will take the blame for that goal.
