Ferguson Meets the Press

http://i43.tinypic.com/20m3hi.png

'How involved do you intend to be in the day-to-day running of the club?'

'I'm going to reshape this club from top to bottom.'

'While some managers are famous for their hands-on approach, others maintain a more reserved manner with their players. How do you see your management style?'

'I think clubs work best when players feel valued as people as well as footballers.'

'Last season was not one to remember for Peterborough fans. How do you rate your chances of bouncing straight back into the npower Championship?'

'Things are things in place to make an immediate challenge for promotion.'

'Following relegation you stand firm as the Peterborough boss. As a big fan of the club, surely this must be a dream come true?'

'It's a special day for me, but there is work to be done and no time for reminiscing.'

'What would you say is your tactical approach to the game?'

'I like attractive football and that's what I will be encouraging.'

'What can we expect from you in the the transfer market? Are you looking to splash the cash or are you more of a bargain hunter?'

'I wouldn't say I have a preference. I work on a deal-by-deal basis.'

On the off-chance that any agents read your comments today, is there a particular area of the squad which you are looking to strengthen in the near future?

Defence.
Nice start to a good story mate

I would like to see a good fight to promote
Nice interview there Matt :D

Pre-season Transfers

Unfortunately due to my low transfer budget of 100K. I was unable to sign any players that would fit the bill. I also couldn't find any players that were interested in joining The Posh on a free transfer.

As I still needed depth in my defensive midfield. I have signed Richard Chaplow on loan until the end of the season, only paying a tidy 20% of his wages to Southampton. This has allowed me to replace my best CM, Tommy Rowe, as I have been forced to play him as a fullback.

This signing also means that I will be able to drop my captain, Grant McCann into a DMC position in my control and counter tactics without being forced to play midfielders who would not be up to the standard I expect from my club.

No more signings will be on the table until January's transfer window. I'm happy with my squad and we are ready to take on our first friendly, Norwich City.
I will be following this looks awesome

Young Prospect Kgosi Ntlhe

Peterborough United captain and centre back giant Gabriel Zakuani has agreed to help tutor young rising star Kgosi Nthle. Kgosi's contract is set to expire in June 2014 and he will certainly be looking to impress.

Other prospects in Posh's side this season are Davide Petrucci and Scott Wootton on loan from Manchester United. Alex Pritchard on loan from Tottenham, Jack Payne on loan from Gillingham and Peterborough contracted Joe Newell, Kane Ferdinand and Daniel Kearns (on loan to Rotherham).
Looking great! Bad luck with the money, but thats where the real managers shine
Good signings and im sure you will be in the Prem in no time

Overall, I think we had a pretty good pre-season and are raring to charge the season ahead. Our first fixture is away to Gillingham, I am feeling confident. However, it is a massive shame that I have 4 injured and 2 of them being superstars in my attack, Lee Tomlin and Davide Petrucci.

THE HUNT FOR PROMOTION BEGINS!
Nice stuff! Too bad with the injuries. Championship here we come
I am loving the layout well done for first story too
Great updates. Brilliant for your first story! Also a great pre season. But as you beat Norwich we can no longer talk. Ever ;)

Amazing start though :P
