The Posh Tipped for Promotion Favourites

http://i43.tinypic.com/2vuwysw.png

Ferguson's lads are sitting at the top of the npower League 1, 2 points above Bristol City. Both fans and pundits believe they have enough class about them to win this season's title.

Captain Gabriel Zakuani, centre back Michael Bostwick and on-loan midfielder Richard Chaplow have been particularly impressing.

We asked Darren Ferguson the question that is on everybody's lips. 'How long can this unbeaten run go on for?'

'The team is playing really well and they have been impressing me in training. Confidence is high, which is shown in our performances and I think there's enough left in the tank to keep this run going for a while yet.'

'What are your chances of winning the Johnstone's Paint Trophy, or are you only focused on achieving promotion?'

'Although our main objective is to achieve promotion. We have made it far enough in the competition to be definite contenders.'

'Will you be making a move for Richard Chaplow over the coming months?'

'Richard has proved himself worthy of a place in our first team and I will be in talks with Southampton soon. Hopefully we can make a deal.
Another great update! Keep it up!

Fergie Takes Injuries Lightly

Peterborough United boss, Darren Ferguson has reported that midfielders Danny Swanson and Richard Chaplow will be out for 4-5 weeks following injuries at London Road last Saturday against Brentford.

The Posh still managed a 2-0 win over Brentford despite Chaplow and Swanson having to be removed from the pitch which suggests how strong the side is even without two of their starting 11.

Darren Ferguson called a press conference where he said, 'As disheartening as it is having two valuable players injured. Our squad is strong enough to replace our midfield and it will give our younger players well deserved match time. I hope Swanson and Chaplow recover fully and I await their return.'
Favourite for promotion and that unbeaten run just shows the injuries don't stop Fergie Jr! Great updates mate and you're writing like a seasoned veteran on here with the quality :D
Wonder what the odds are for an invincible season.

It's been another good month for The Posh. Picking up 6 wins, 1 draw and 1 loss away from home. For the second month running, we are sitting 2nd in the table 1 point behind Bristol City, who have 2 games in hand. Bristol really need to start losing if we are going to win the title. As it stands, it's looking like we are runner-up contenders, not title winners.

Player of the Month

Tyrone Barnett

http://i44.tinypic.com/91mqn8.jpg

Tyrone Barnett is starting to prove his place in the team this season. Although Dwight Gayle scored a beautiful hattrick in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy. Barnett has almost scored a hattrick twice this month and assisted many, with an average rating is 7.65.

Despite his performances this month, I don't see a future for Barnett at the club as a starting player. We need stronger, faster strikers if the Championship is awaiting our return.
Still behind Bristol City :( And they've got 2 games in hand :(
Some excellent results, but what happened against Wolves?
A good month and another brilliant update! Looks like it will be hard to get first being behind in points and them have 2 games in hand but you never know with football! Keep it up
2013-05-30 14:47#106679 Glenn T : Some excellent results, but what happened against Wolves?
Sako tore us apart and Stephen Ward was a rock in defence. Unfortunate, but I didn't think I'd go unbeaten all season.
Some good results mate and you're still flying near the top! You just have to beat Bristol when you play them ;)
Doing well so far, hopefully you can overtake Bristol and win Ligue 1 :P
