Sure must pay a LOT better to manage in the lower Portuguese leagues then what you can make in Spain.
Congratulation on going pro. Will enjoy seeing the LIGA Orangina logo in every update. :D

Hahaha maybe you should make the move :P No, maybe it is more of a shack than a villa haha I'll edit that in. The club actually only pays me £50 more than in the first season. I'll explain that in the next update.

Thanks I'll add the logo in as much as I can :D

EDIT: I made it a bungalow? Is that better? Sounds better than shack imo :P

Just adding on, the finances in Spain are MUCH better than Portugal, in my first season the salary was £500, my next contract was £550!

The Board Take Things Into Their Own Hands

Normally the board are pretty good at Oriental. The chairman, Mr Nabais, lets me get on with my job without any interruptions, and doesn't sell my key players behind my back. He told me himself he was enjoying life at the club.

But yesterday he informed me of some news. The board had accepted an offer from SC Beira Mar to be their feeder club and them to be our parent club.

In all honesty, I have no desire for an affiliation, and I have no intention of using this one. One of my goals for Oriental was to do it on our own, as a club, and this doesn't help.

I really don't want to rely on loan players so I haven't used any. When I get promoted I will cancel this link as I think we can be better than them.
A belated Congrats on promotion. Prepare well for the big sharks (Liga Zon Sagres B Teams) next season

Thanks P-KIDDY. Yeah surprisingly they are actually doing extremely poorly.

Deal Or No Deal

About a week after the title was won, I was feeling a bit nervous. The board had still not offered me a contract, and I was beginning to think that my dreams at Oriental were going to get squashed just as they were getting started.

I am not normally a pushy type, but I had to ask for a new one. I only had about a month and a half on my remaining one.

I asked the board, and thankfully, they agreed and drew up a contract worth £550, £50 more than last time. I asked for £50 more but they said they couldn't afford it.

I agreed and we settled on a two year contract extension, and I hope to extend it further in the coming years, to ensure I am at this club for the long term.
I usually find that I can't negotiate the wage up on coaching contracts. Still, it's good that the board offered you a new one!

Yeah same, anyway I don't normally it is really just a meaningless number on the game, unless you play for the money ;) Yeah I know I was worried and I requested one and they gave me luckily!
Congratulations on the promotion! I hope you go all the way to the PL and win the CL maybe! Consider this a challenge from me ;)

Thanks Mohamed :) Yeah I hope so too, If I ever win, I will dedicate it to you :P
This new contract clearly shows the board have faith in you. Hopefully in a couple of years time you will be playing against the "Big" Lisbon clubs, and maybe even beat them :D

They left it pretty late :\ That's the goal thanks for reading.

The Off Season

After a successful campaign last season I knew I couldn't afford to rely on the players who had done so well last season. If they weren't up to scratch, they weren't in the team. I started with the exits.

Captain Jorge Correia was let go. A big decision but a good one, seeing as though this season he was turning 40 and probably wouldn't have the same physical stats as the season before, and he wouldn't be able to adjust to the Segunda Divisão's pace and physicality.

Jose Norinho was let go, because he didn't make the grade in the youth team. His contract was not extended. Renato Dinis left the club and so did Hugo Grilo, who joined Barreinense. Pedro Melo also left the club, joining Carregado.

Four players arrived, all youngsters who were released by their previous clubs.

That completed out window along with a couple of other signings signed just for cover and backup purposes. Tero is the only signing for the first team, the center back joined on a free. With these signings I felt we were ready for the upcoming season which was going to prove tougher than ever.
I would love to see a detailed look at the youngsters' attributes, but they look like they'll be greats at first glance.
Yeah I'll send through the attributes on chat. Thanks for reading :)
