I want to put the past behind me

Earlier in the week we spoke with our star player, Luis Suarez, who's 10 match ban is now over. As we all know, Suarez was slapped with a ban from the FA for an infamous bite on Chelsea's defender Branislav Ivanovic. Luis has been banned before for a supposed racial slur towards Patrice Evra.

We spoke to Luis Suarez at Melwood about his future at the club and his aims for this season, here's the full interview:

S: Suarez, C: Claire

C: Luis, welcome to Liverpool TV!

S: Thank you.

C: Now you had a fairly good season last year. You were in good form scoring goals, but that wasn't the only reason why you were talked about...

S: Las season was good season for me, although at points my behaviour got the better of me, I regret that.

C: So, what do you think of the new manager and how Liverpool have started?

S: I like the new boss. As many of we know, he's a Liverpool legend. Fans love him, players respect him, he's a good coach. We start the season well, we sign players, they been doing well so far.

C: There has been some speculation and talk about you leaving the club, is your future at Anfield?

S: Media in England always talking rubbish. They say I don't love the club and I want to leave. That is a lie, I love this club very much but everybody think I hate the club and want to leave, no. I want to become a legend here and want to help the club.

C: Are you aware of any competition now Liverpool signed two strikers?

S: I not afraid. Last season the club sign Daniel (Sturridge), he a very good striker but we link up well. I want to link up well with the new signings too. I believe I still have a place in the team.

C: Very confident Luis, now if you have to say something to the fans and the club, what would it be?

S: I am sorry for my behaviour, it is not acceptable and I have learned from my mistakes. I love the club, I love the fans, I want to help this club I love. Also, I want to put the past behind me and focus on the future, I hope everyone else can do so too.

C: It was nice having you here Luis, thank you for your time.

S: Thank you.

As you can clearly see, Suarez is highly optimistic and seems to be tired of tolerating his own fans, as well as the media. Suarez's first match back will be in the capital one cup game vs Blackburn at Ewood Park. Hopefully he gets a good reception from the fans.
From the Liverpool fans maybe, but any other fans would give him a right old booooooing.

The return of Suarez

September, the month that saw the return of Luis Suarez to the premier league. The Uruguayan striker made his return following a 10 match ban because of his infamous bite on Ivanovic. Liverpool played 5 games in total, winning three and drawing two.

Liverpool's first match of the month was against Cardiff City, at Anfield. The Reds controlled the game throughout ending up with 62% of possession. Veteran defender, Kolo Toure, gave them the lead in the 39th minute with a nice finish. New signing, Iago Aspas, killed the game off in the 86th minute to give Liverpool a 2-0 victory over the newcomers.

The first real challenge of Liverpool came, when they faced Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea were the favourites going into the game, but Liverpool wouldn't let that affect the, as they picked up a 1-1 draw and wouldn't have been disappointed to concede at such a late point in the game. Skrtel gave Liverpool the lead in the 13th minute, with a nicely timed header. It seemed like Liverpool had started celebrations as the defence switched off. As soon as they did, John Obi Mikel punished them with a fluke goal in the 88th minute.

Back to back away games are never easy, but that didn't stop Liverpool from getting a 1-0 victory of Newcastle United. Newcastle dominated the game, but when it mattered they just weren't clinical enough, unlike Liverpool. Daniel Sturridge picked up the winner in the 23rd minute.

The game all Liverpool fans had been waiting for, the return of Luis Suarez. The fans cheered him on at Ewood Park and he certainly repaid them scoring the opener ofthe game. Rosado equalized just two minutes later in the 28th minute. Blackburn were proving they were no pushovers. Nicolas Gaitan crushed Blackburn's dreams of pulling an upset with a goal in the 98th minute in extra time, giving Liverpool the win and putting them through to the 4th round of the capital one cup.

By far, the most challenging fixture for Liverpool since the start of the season, was against United at Anfield. A game that used to be a huge rivalry but is no longer. United were the favourites but were frustrated by Liverpool as the game finished 1-1. Luis Suarez got the opener in 23rd minute, in front of the home crowd. Robin Van Persie in the 76th minute from roughly 5 yards out. John Barnes was the happier manager, but the main talking point was the clash between Suarez and Evra during the game. Evra was seen to be winding up Suarez and eventually the two went face to face. Reports say their was a physical altercation between the two.

In the league, Liverpool are currently lying in 2nd place behind City, who are first with 16 points while Liverpool have 14 points. The Reds will be hoping that City slip up at some stage but they must remember its still early stages.

Liverpool player of the month

The Liverpool player of the month is......DANIEL AGGER! The defender has put in some very solid performances at the back. Gerrard has been struggling with his fitness, yet Agger has stepped up to captain the side on numerous occasions.

They're at it again

Following a spat between them two years ago, which led to a racial slur from Suarez towards Evra, Sky sources have told us that the two were involved in yet another scrap in yesterday's game.

Any one who was watching the game, would have known that the two seemed to exchange words at different points in the game. At one point the two had to be separated by their teammates as it seemed a fight would break out. An insider, who has opted he remains unknown, has told us that as the two were walking off the pitch towards the tunnel, Suarez told Evra "talk is cheap you know that?". Evra was then said to have responded saying "Why don't we stop talking, I see you in the tunnel and we can "talk more".

As the two players proceeded into the tunnel, Evra was seen to have pulled the shirt of Suarez, angering the Uruguayan who did not react very well. The two then took part in a physical altercation where Evra reportedly spat at Suarez. Once this sparked, United players surrounded Suarez trying to put an element of fear into him, however the Liverpool players wouldn't take any of that nonsense at their own stadium as they immediately backed up Suarez. The two sets of players then got involved in a bit of a brawl.

Police at the stadium were called to break up the players as things had certainly gotten out of hand. We are not 100% sure who is at fault for sparking the brawl, but from what we have heard, Patrice Evra will get the blame. John Barnes and Moyes were also involved in a physical altercation as Barnes accused the United players of being a pack of hungry wolves, in front of Moyes. The United manager, who was already frustrated with the 1-1 draw, reacted with going head to head with Barnes.

This is not the first time Liverpool and United have been involved in brawls, these pictures speak for themselves.

We understand games like this will be heated but surely not this extent? For more information on this brawl between the two clubs, you can get it here on Sky Sports News.
