Tottenham Hotspur: The club that Bill made.

I have decided that I am going to be starting a Tottenham Hotspur save. I've been an avid fan of Tottenham since I was a kid and it's a team that I am very passionate about. While I am enjoying my Palace save (don't worry, I'll still be keeping it going, more-so than this) I wanted a change where I can fight and battle at the top of the league - not pull my hair out after every silly mistake that my player's make.

Before my Palace save, I was considering doing a Spurs story, but due to several that were on-going(i.e. - Senis) I decided against it. Now that the Spurs stories have died down, there's nothing I'd love more than to help Tottenham battle for titles.



I will be taking the roll of current manager, Luís André de Pina Cabral e Villas-Boas (also known as André Villas-Boas and commonly referred to as AVB.) Having recently been signed as Spurs' manager just over a year ago, I thought that it would be wrong to play as someone else. He's a great, young manager (who also happens to have a rather sexy beard) who I personally believed can help Spurs win titles. He's very passionate and a great tactician too, something which I hope I can replicate during this save.

AVB is currently 35 years of age and was born in Portugal. He's never played the sport professionally, which makes him a rather unusual character in the world of football. He has managed four (five if British Virgin Islands is counted) different clubs in as many years. These include Académica, Porto, Chelsea and Tottenham.

AVB has currently won four honours at club level, all during his time at Porto: The Primeira Liga, the Taça de Portugal, the Supertaça Cândido de Oliveira and UEFA Europa League.

At coaching level, he's won five different awards and achievements, which include: The CNID breakthrough coach in 2010, the CNID best coach in 2011 and the Globos de Ouro Prémio Revelação in 2011. He's also won two awards with current team, Tottenham Hotspur, The Premier League Manager of the Month in December 2012 and February 2013.

Interesting, of course, I would refuse to comment or even read this if Palace wasn't continuing too Good luck Nick!

Sp*rs! Yuck! May the Lord shine on your North London shadow

After a nice, hot summer holiday with the squad, it was time to get back to business in dreary and rainy London. Don't get me wrong, I love the city - my wife does too - but I long for the summer's heat of Portugal and Barbados. (God that weather was nice - my tan is coming on nicely!)

I must say, though, I'm glad we as a squad got a chance to visit the owners. Spending time with Levy and Lewis has allowed me and the boys to see that the club are finally ready to push on for trophies and spend money. Levy and mainly Lewis can be rather ...stingy when it comes to spending. Hopefully, this means that we can finally spend some money and get some proven players to help strengthen the squad. What made the trip even more special - apart from the yacht is that I had conformation that Gareth was staying.

We're currently looking at several players and I must say that I, along with Levy are very impressed with that Paulinho from Corinthians. But, one thing that does concern me is the name... What type of name is Paulinho?

I'm also hoping to finally bring in a Director of Football, and hopefully some new staff too. This place could do with a bit more structure.

P.s The yacht was rather nice. I must remember to buy myself one, once I retire.

Tottenham Hotspur have today confirmed the signings of three new players - striker Nelson Oliveira, winger Nacer Chadli and talented midfielder Alen Halilovic. It is also thought that Spurs are set to wrap up deals for Brazilian midfielder Paulinho, as well as Argentinian defensive midfielder Romero.

Tottenham's first signing - striker Nelson Oliveira has joined Tottenham from Benfica. The 21 year old striker has joined Spurs for a fee thought to be around £10,500,000.

Having missed out on their two main targets - Christian Benteke and Robert Soldado, who have both decided to stay and their current clubs, AVB sent out several scouts to look for a young striking talent. Tottenham fans have longed for striker since Berbatov's departure from Tottenham to Manchester United in 2008.

After receiving great reports from Director of Football, Franco Baldini, as well as Chief Scout Bryan Robson, AVB decided to place a bid for the Benfica striker. It is believed that Spurs owner Levy and the Benfica were someway out on their initial evaluations, with Tottenham reportedly tabled a bid in the region of £7,00,000. The Benfica president, on the other hand, valued the striker at around £15,000,000. After tough negotiations, an upfront fee, believed to be around £9,000,000, with £1,500,000 spread over two years. The striker has currently made a total of 45 appearances, scoring 4 goals.

Tottenham's next signing was that of Belgian winger Nacer Chadli. After Andre Villas-Boas publicly admitted his interest in the winger, Nacer Chadli had his heart set on a move to White Hart Lane.

Nacer has joined Spurs from Dutch side FC Twente. The Belgian has been plying his trade in the Dutch League for two years, where he has made a total of 56 appearances, scoring six goals. The 6'2 winger has joined for a fee of £9,000,000, which was set by his club after the winger became unhappy about not being able to move.

After finally forcing through a transfer request, Nacer spoke to the press, urging Tottenham Hotspur manager to "come and get him." "After the interest received from Tottenham, I know I want to move. They [Tottenham] are a great club who have some amazing players. I long to play in the best league in the world against, as well as with, some of the best players that are gracing the world of football."

It is reported that Stoke City had come in with an eleventh hour bid for the Belgian in an attempt to hijack the deal. However, both Nacer and his agent rejected the deal from Stoke straight up.

Tottenham's final signing thus far is that of Croatian wonder-kid Alen Halilovic. The youngester has been hotly tipped as the next 'Luka Modric' and at 16 years of age, has already played in the Champions League. It is believed that Tottenham had to move quickly to secure the deal in order to beat several clubs, including Real Madrid, Manchester City and Manchester United, all of whom were reportedly looking the talented youngster.

The midfielder will join up with Spurs once he has turned 18, and has cost Tottenham a reported fee of around £3,500,000.

Tottenham aren't only buying. They have already offloaded pass-master Tom Huddlestone, who has joined Liverpool in a deal thought to be worth £10,000,000.

Spurs originally requested £10,000,000 for the bulky midfielder, however soon changed their minds, and decided to request a fee of £11,000,000. It is believed that Liverpool had agreed to the price, but the deal fell through after Liverpool weren't prepared to pay an upfront fee of £6,000,000 and instead wanted to offer £2,000,000 upfront with £9,000,000 over 2 years. It is believed that Tottenham then went back to Liverpool with an original offer of £10,000,000, which Liverpool subsequently accepted.

South African defender Bongani Khumalo has also finally left the club after several unsuccessful years at the club. The defender has moved to Crystal Palace in a deal worth £2,000,000.

It is also believed that Spurs are looking to offload want-away keeper Gomes. Spurs are wanting a price of around £3,500,000, however have yet to find a suitor.
