Season Two: March

This month we got back on track and kept our sights on promotion to the Liga Zon Sagres, the premier division of Portugal. We started off the month with a great win over rivals Atletico CP, pleasing the home fans with a 2-1 victory. Next up we versed AD Fafe, who were struggling to cope with the Segunda Divisão's pace and physciality. We showed why we were so much better than the other promoted teams, thrashing them 6-1 infront of a bumper crowd. After that we went to Tondela, and came away with a shock loss against a side we should be beating fairly easily. The boys knew that they could do better than that, but I hoped it wouldn't cost us promotion to the promised land. We went to CD Santa Clara and improved our blip with a tidy 1-1 draw, a result I would take. It was better than nothing. We finished the month in front of our own fans against CD Trofense and won comfortably, scoring twice without reply.

League Table

This left us just outside the promotion places, but I fear it may be too late as Gil Vicente and Vitoria Setubal are cementing their places up the top of the table. We were even on points with Oliveirense, but two points behind Gil Vicente and five behind Setubal, who were being spearheaded by a sixteen year-old wonder kid by the name of Antonio Oliveira, who had scored more goals than games. Hopefully, though, we could pull in at the last hurdle and come back with a fight!

What a way to pick it up. Although will it be too little too late. I hope that last month didn't cost you too much.
